I am just hoping there will be enough cool-aid at the end of Solidcoin.

You don't need a single dime to invest in Solidcoin since you can easily mine with any laptop thanks to it's CPU friendly algorithm.

1) The purpose of hashing/mining is to protect the network.
2) There is a cost.  Last time I checked a laptop doesn't run on wishes and rainbows.

So while someone ignorant to the reality that ScamCoin is a technological regression may not lose USD directly they can and likely will lose them indirectly through wasted electricity.

Solidcoin may be alot of things BTCP, but a Scam is not one of them. All the FUD put out by all of the litecoin/tenebrix fan boys has been nauseating. The fact of the matter is that these people haven't changed shit, their chains haven't improved a single thing from the original Bitcoin client. Solidcoin fundamentally changes things, and while the majority of people on this forum are "against" what that change represents, that doesn't make it a "scam". The code is released, and everything that has been said can be reviewed by independent analysis. You don't need a single dime to invest in Solidcoin since you can easily mine with any laptop thanks to it's CPU friendly algorithm. If you are looking to invest real money you should watch out with ANY online crypto-currency INCLUDING Bitcoin...
At no point did I call SolidCoin a scam there sir, please re-read Smiley  I own some of those ScamCoins the kids keep talking about, I am not trying to hinder my 'investment' ..of my free time.      I still check SolidCoinTalk every so often, not as much anymore, but in the end I do question what is considered a "CryptoCurrency" and what does not, that is all.     Maybe people seeing or thinking SolidCoin as a cryptocurrency rather than another form of digital currency much like PayPal or Dwolla would actually be better for SolidCoin itself.    If everyone knew and understood exactly how RealSolid can control the network in some cases, but he does not have full control, and all those other crazy little nuances that keep getting their own threads, wouldn't be issues if it was part of how the coin is advertised.  If these are the best features of SolidCoin, they should be touted as such, not looked down upon, right?

Edit: Used the term 'ScamCoin' in this post as a joke btw

A pool in a nice forum is not representative, only the market shows the real demand.

I agree and the market is showing a complete lack of demand for scam/piracy/fiat/tax coin.
The market is showing complete lack of demand for all the current "alt currencies".

I agree.  However does that somehow make it better for ScamCoin?

At this stage anyone who gets involved in SolidCoin is either too dumb to read or is just looking for someone to rip them off.
I don't know, I figure there has to be some excellent scammers out there that could see the whole SolidCoin situation as it is currently and figure a way to rip more people off.  Someone should make a thread about that as not to derail this thread that has topics never brought up ever.

Whatever happened to the discussion on what defines a cryptocurrency, and how that applies to SolidCoin and how the control of the network is handled.  Are these unrelated things?

I've started a poll to see if there is significant disagreement:

I'm not trying to measure demand.

Ok folks, we all know that SolidCoin is a scam. We all know it's written by a psycho who maintains an iron fist on the code, his IRC channel, and his forums. We all know this psycho has a massive premine and gets a huge amount of tax on every generated block. We all know SolidCoin is badly misdesigned and will fall over sooner or later. We all know that viper-lemon is this psycho's anal bitch-boy. We get it.

Can we all just stop commenting on the SolidCoin threads and let this con die off. At this stage anyone who gets involved in SolidCoin is either too dumb to read or is just looking for someone to rip them off.

Please can we just let it die?

Please?
