It is kind of exciting while the block chain catches up: It's like fastforwarding through time Smiley

UPDATE: problem fixed, transactions confirmed. un-installed, re-installed (3X!), re-named the original index directory (rather than deleting it) and used the back-up wallet.dat file and after a loooong time, the transactions were confirmed.  Cheesy

I tried that-no dice. Could I have damaged the wallet.dat file? bitcoin was running when I copied the file (yes, I know I should have closed it first before making a backup).

its a good sign the tx's and balance r showing up at least.  how long r u waiting to see if they confirm?  it can take a while.  r u getting connections at the bottom and did the whole block chain download?  u can also try closing client, moving wallet.dat  file to a safe place, then deleting the entire contents of that folder including the block data files.

i've done something similar to this.  i deleted BOTH block files while leaving the wallet.dat alone.  my balance was there but all my tx's showed  went to zero.  the client then automatically downloaded a new block chain and it was cool to see all my tx's come back one by one to be confirmed.  i'm thinking that the 2 block files might be linked so if you only originally deleted one that might have caused a problem. try redeleting both of them and redownloading.

Hi,all. I attempted to backup my wallet as recommended and apparently I moved instead of copying the file. A new wallet was generated and when I replaced it with the original wallet, the transactions showed up, but they are unconfirmed. I regenerated the whole blockchain with no success. I deleted the original block index file-could that be the problem?
