Define racist. I went to the faucet mentioned in the OP but I do not see any racist content in the website mentioned.
The reward might be less for your friends because they might be from the third world countries and most of the ad network pay less for impressions/click/etc from the third world countries. That is why the reward might be less for most of the user from the third world countries.

/thread

Jeez, OP is talking about how people get wildly different rates in different countries, he's not complaining about faucets being low-paying.

The OP thread title is some faucet website are racist

And he get its wrong with that title.

If I earned a dollar from faucets its not much that you can buy with that (for me) but in the Philippines it is quite a lot of money they can do a lot with it.

Hence the rates for different countries, so in answer to the OP who has his title wrong, its equal to everyone.

I can see why it would be irritating for a user, I can also see why advertisers would do it. If I was the OP I'd be signing up for a sig campaign. Way more money and there's not a sniff of discrimination anywhere.

Yes, try other ways to earn bitcoin if faucets are not beneficial for you.  There are a lot of other methods to earn online bitcoins. Out of which signature campaign is more advantageous with no any difference of payment regarding your country.

when i leave my place   moonbitcoin if i remember was more than 200sat /5min
and here is Philippines  it s 15 sat /5 min  ??  Huh  Roll Eyes seriously ?

I'm not using these sites now but I remember a year or so ago it was much more.

Maybe its time you guys move on from faucets, they're literally a waste of time.

And in their defense, running a faucet is not easy, they barely make enough to run the faucet and they're being targeted by bots which means most of the faucet amount they pay comes from their own pocket.

For someone in a third world country this can get them in the game with Bitcoin.  Its free so why not.  Some people in third world countries make $1 a day and it is totally possible to at least do .50 cents a day...that is a job  Smiley  I used to think they were a waste too until I open my mind to think about those that live on so little in other countries.  This is one of the reasons Bitcoin is so cool...it is universal and can reach everyone.

True, but even then they can do better.

Faucets are really minimal, a sig campaign earns 100 times the income per post.

But, as you said, it is nice side income or even a full job for some.

twister, if that was true, not a lot of them would still be around. Look at Freebitco.in as an example. It's domain was created On:10-Oct-2013 and it is

still going strong. Yes, some of these faucets have a poor business model and design and they are poorly operated and then the failure rate will be

high. A faucet should not just rely on advertisement income, because it can be shut down at any moment. {Look what Google AdSense did these last

couple of weeks} To sustain the income, they should expand the services being offered on the site to include entertainment and gambling features to

cross subsidize the income for the faucet.

you can't compare a faucet like Freebitco.in with all the other simple faucets out there. Freebitco.in is old and popular. besides it is not just a faucet, they have added a lot of new and interesting features over the years to their website.
like the multiply your bircoin section which is practically a dice website on its own.
and with lotteries becoming popular they added a lottery section too.

all that said i still say that no faucet is worth the time spent.

After seeing that comment I would suggest you to work hard for the development of your country. So, that you move out from third world countries list. After that there will be a demand of advertising for your country also and so will also be able to claim a high amount.

you should have learned by now that faucets are not worth your time, it doesn't matter where in the world you live. 100-1000 satoshi per visit and filling captcha is not worth your precious time. there is always a lot of other stuff you can do and earn more money that way.

I agree. Especially this filling out of captcha is very time consuming. It if would be done with 2 clicks fine, but it's much more than that. I think also that most of the faucets have problems with paying since last week, because google adds somehow wiped them out. At least Bonusbitcoin.co for example has no payout any more...

Not only faucet website most of the GPT and PTC, Survey site are also racist from so many years. There are more advertisers looking for tier 1 country visitor and also value of $ is low in those countries so they have to pay enough to attract visitors. Nothing can be done regarding this, try your luck with vps and vpn. Grin

You are right, these faucets are not the racist but actually it is because of the payment paid to them by the ad networks. They pay low for showing ads to third world countries or we can say to the countries who are too younger with respect to development.

I think they are not like that as you say they pay the same all over the world. The faucets have set the amount to claim the same for all of its users. It is not such easy to set a number of different amount for a number of countries.  They may pay according to the profit from the specific country.

I think it also has to do with the numbers, because these advertisers knows a country like the Philippines will have a much higher poverty rate than say Finland and these countries will have loads more users using these faucets for income, and that does not necessarily translate to sales.

The irony for me is, these poor countries actually need the higher payouts, seeing that faucets are there to help people to get hold of bitcoins. The world is so upside down, it's sad.

i think that it is a bad thing that they give different amounts of money to the people from different countries they surely dont add up to their reputation by doing so in my opinion everyone should get the same amount

They only show ads for products that are available in the person's country. Futhermore, they know statistically how many people who click on the ads eventually buy something. That way they can set price for the ads and the clicks/impressions. It follows that prices in different countries would be different because in some places the ads simply don't convert to actual customers as well as in other places. Look at it with the tables turned - if you were buying an ad to sell your product would you pay a premium to have it shown in a third world country?

I didn't know about that, similar to what happens to content usually in Youtube or similar sites that are only allowed certain content in one location, region or country. I think you could bypass that by using a VPN but to be honest, you should bypassing it altogether by staying away from faucets, they are a waste of time really.

its not the faucets who are to be blamed, its the ad networks they use, ad networks pay less for poorer countries like yours so faucets can only give as much as they get so they dont lose money

Indeed. The adds that are displayed are getting smarter and smarter, which means that in the Phillipenes they serve less expensive adds, which leads you to earn less.

One way to get around this is to run a proxy or a vpn from a country in Europe or United states. That way, higher earning adds are shown and you earn more.

ok i understand but it s not fair
Well life is not fair, get used to it.  I'm in the US and just recently (within 2 weeks or so), Moonbit reduced their payments significantly.  And I mean by more than half.  So it's not just you, the world isn't about you, and these faucets aren't "racist" because they don't fucking pay you enough.

Faucets pay a low amount. They can only pay what they get from ads.  I doubt this is a result of location, but you could use a VPN or proxy to test this statement.
It is a very low amount. Your statement is partially true, they pay what they get from ads.

It's not the faucet being racist, it's the ad payments.
Advertisement impressions don't pay much in third world countries as there isn't a huge budget for advertising there.

Yes, it's not being a racist but advertisers pay what they get in return from the views their ads receive.

oh i did not know about the different amounts for the different countries, i guess you can use a vpn or proxy in order to be able to claim bigger amounts of satoshi from these faucets

Using proxies can lead to a ban on most faucets.
I believe that these faucets pay according to the country users belong to as their advertisers do not earn much from the banners viewed by certain countries and that is the reason the payout is less for them.

Philippines and even my country was banned on a particular website as the revenue received from the views was too less to pay the website owners. I did not know that Faucets also pay as per the country of their members. Moonbitcoin pays me the same rate as it pays others and same goes for freebitco. That's not racism in my opinion. USA, UK and Canada are high paying countries for which they get a bigger payment.

Why is it racist?
The problem is that the faucet gets lower rates from banner advertising for people from various countries like Phillipines. Faucets get the highest rates from banner advertisers for visitors from industrial countries like USA, European countries,... Therefore they need to adapt the claim amount depending on the country in order to stay profitable.

If I had to take a guess, I would say advertisers have to do this to get hits from these richer areas. Let's say the advertiser wants too advertise

expensive items.... It would be of little worth for a advertiser to advertise his banner in a 3rd world country, where the majority of the people are poor.

The 200 Satoshi in 3rd world countries are also valued the same as the 2000 Satoshi in the 1st world country, due to the exchange rate between these

countries currencies. Both of these users get effectively the same value from the two different locations.

living in england/america/australia.. NO faucets pay 15625sats every 30 seconds(equivalent to a fiat converted minimum wage per 30 seconds).. at most its 2000 but on average it is 250

in third world countries at most 1000 but average 100.. which is still not enough to be the equivalent to the lowest minimum wage of them all.. (bangledesh).

so never assume that you can make a minimum wage income from raiding faucets.. not matter how quickly you can raid them to average better than 1 hit per 30 seconds.

its just not viable.

I supose it depends on advertisers rates, if they pay more for users from some countries rates on faucet could be better for this countries. I don't want to think this as a racist system, its more like economic system. I don't like it, but if they don't do this difference i supose that faucet payments will be lower for all.

And also I noticed that I got higher amounts if I connected from my smartphone than my computer. Like right now, I haven't claimed for a bit more than 6 hours and if I connect from my computer it shows 171 satoshis but if I connect from my phone then I can claim 581 satoshis.

That's an interesting fact. I'll do a test. I hope that it will work for me too. Maybe this is because your smartphone has a better location detection and it detect that you come from a big city.

Yeah I figured the same thing out too, probably they consider that developing countries earn less and thus get us paid less, or probably they aren't earning as much from their CAPTCHA's and ads from developing countries, hence the payout could have been less.

Wow i don't know about this, because the last time i use faucets it's still normal reward, not like that. But i agree with Wapinter. It's about ads from your region.

Is this really a thing? I thought everyone gets the same rewards at the faucets regardless of what country they are connecting from.

Poor countries should refer to the third developing countries! It is set by the faucet script meant to maximize the faucet owners' and advertisers' interest. But it is not fair for the users.

Traffic from countries as the Philippines is considered to be low quality and thus not worth much which might be the reason for the lower payouts for you. (correct me if I'm wrong)

It doesn't matter what the site is related to. It could be Bitcoin, USD, Rupees, and you'd still get a low pay if you're on a lower tier country. It's not because the site doesn't like you, it's because of the way ad networks are. They pay higher for higher converting leads, and those are usually in the top tier countries ie France, USA. Basically the richer countries. I've learnt to stop going on these sites as it is a big waste of time. Takes forever to get a single dollar, while you could be doing something much more constructive in that time for much more money.

its not the faucets who are to be blamed, its the ad networks they use, ad networks pay less for poorer countries like yours so faucets can only give as much as they get so they dont lose money

Indeed. The adds that are displayed are getting smarter and smarter, which means that in the Phillipenes they serve less expensive adds, which leads you to earn less.

One way to get around this is to run a proxy or a vpn from a country in Europe or United states. That way, higher earning adds are shown and you earn more.

ok i understand but it s not fair

well, yesterday i was doing some job related research for website building and stumbled upon a website that pays you money for views of photo's you upload there.
just out of curiousity i checked it out and in the payment section  i noticed all countries of the world placed in tiers of payment and indeed, they where tiered by country's revenue and wealth.
so i guess they apply the same with bitcoin.

in my eyes something that is conflicting with the general idea what bitcoin stands for. Becaus the financial world we live in now is a system of class, a system that doesn't   allow you to grow out of your current financial state. Unless you go around cheating people or put your mind in a slavestate 24/7 and work your ass off.

and yes moon and zebra pays way less here too, so don't be so jumpy with your deck of race cards and ask around first.
It's so anoying, silly and tiersome seeing, watching and hearing people doing that.

have a nice day Smiley
