Just keep reporting this kind of Threads or posts if its really Malware , im doing this now over 6 years and the most or all of them gets deleted.
We have a Topic about that here Report Malware and Suspicious Links here so Mods can take Action !
Maybe Mitchell can add that post to his Bot so it gets detected , if you see another one write in my topic the Link of it and i report it also.
That's right - I think that's the best solution any user should take when they find and successfully identify malware. Reports to moderators will be handled quickly as these links are clearly very dangerous to other users - so reporting posts containing malware links should come first before notifying anyone of the discovery.

Why is it not filtered and removed?
I'm not sure what the reason is - but if the admin actually did it, then they should have implemented it since this thread existed.

What troubles my soul is how exposed BTT has been, thereby attracting both the geeks and scam-oriented projects. It becomes even more pathetic that alot of malicious/misleading links are reported, which proves their relentlessness and again, how the "good" is being overwhelmed by the "bad"

The recent attacks/censorships on privacy has done more harm to the crypto communities than good to the government. It has only made a hacker's job more of a certainty than probability.
If newbies want to make their link clickable, they need to buy copper membership.
Huh? That's easy for anyone to bypass.

I don’t think word filtering of this links could require an additional code or script. But the problem is I think that malware links are usually very much that the forum admins are probably going to find it hard to word filter them. If scammers find that they are word filtered they will probably just create another link again.
Some of this links sometimes even look exactly like the good links with just little differences

Right now it is just better we continue to report this threads to mods

I also go with what Zaguru has mentioned, how long can we keep on with the use of the  function of word filter when we are going to have this scammers and trollers continuously on the forum, the best idea is just to make the appropriate report to the moderator when necessary as found in the case scenario Op has mentioned, this will be the easiest and not only that, but the fastest as well in dealing with users like that, their post will not be hesitated to be deleted once detected.

I think filtering links is a little hard, as they (scammers) can shorten the link, or change the appearance of the link, they can come up with some different keywords including link, which means if the admin has blocked a link with some "X" word in it, then scammer might come up with some "Y" word in it. I have no high knowledge of the technology, but might be via some scripts or extensions we could able to detect these posts from our sites, by delete I mean hide them.

The path you have shared might not be added in the ban list, as it can easily become useless, if some of the word changes in them. I wonder how these scammers are able to make 10 accounts, AFAIK we can't make account on BTT for free or if we want to make we have to pay some money if not in BTC then in alts via some reputed members, and we can also vote for some member so proxy ban would be lifted from there accounts.

Filtering a specific part of the link won't solve the problem in this case, especially when that part is just a reference to a file saved in a drive.

He is using Google Drive for the malware, and the part of the link you think should be filtered is the address of that file. So, even if it's filtered, he can remove and save the file again and it will have a different reference and the link will be changed, and the filter won't work anymore.

Filtering all the links starting with 'drive.google.com' would also not solve the issue because it might filter out legit links shared by users on the forum.

So, Lafu is right, the only solution is for forum users to keep reporting such posts to the mods and if they aren't removed, report them in threads where spam and such stuff are reported.

If this link is used many times, repeatedly, and forum users report it many times. Moderators who handle it can make a mod report to forum admins to world filtering that link.

It takes time to go from a normal process with manual reports, manual report handles and an escalated solution to report to forum admins and come to a final solution, world filtering.

Meanwhile you can report any post you see with that malicious link.

Things like this are common on the forum and I think that strict filtering is required going forward. But first, the vigilance goes to the members of the forum, they need to be more careful even if nothing changes on the part of the admin in this regard. Any link with no straightforward address should be ignored and any embedded links should be checked before clicking it. I do that by first clicking on "Quote" on the OP's post, from which the link address will be revealed. The moderators are trying as they pull them down with them but should also step up the game for quicker action.

However, these guys must have carefully studied the forum and know its weaknesses, so the admin may only try its best but something like this can't be entirely avoided.

Usually when newbies post a link, some of them are detected as suspicious and it make the link not clickable with this warning "[Suspicious link removed]".
I do not think that is the case in the thread you linked. Theymos posted "fixed" there which would suggest that there was a bug that needed to be corrected in that case.

Maybe, it should be set as default, so every of the link posted by newbies turns become not clickable. If newbies want to make their link clickable, they need to buy copper membership.

If mixers can be word filtered, some other links can also be word filtered. Or it will require some additions to the code and which can be stressful to do?

You can see a user with malware file that keeps registering new accounts to post the same thing. I copied one of his post yesterday and another one day.
