I've put 5 people on ignore in the last 10 minutes. Please stop all the rubbish posts about merit.
No kidding.  It seems that when I click on new threads dealing with merits, they're filled up with people already on my ignore list.  It's a revolting turn of affairs here, but not one that surprises me.  These shitposters--as ignorant and illiterate as they are--are persistent little buggers, and they'll try anything to get merit, trust, rank up, you name it.  The best thing we can do is put them on ignore, thereby ensuring they never receive merit from us, and that we no longer have to be exposed to their nonsense.

Eventually this will end.  Eventually they'll figure out that no one is going to award them merits for writing total crap--or that it's going to be an insanely slow process to rank up.  I have to remind myself that this is only Month Two of the merit system, and that shitposters are not known for their quick uptake of information.

Edit:  Meanwhile, OP has earned a neg by blatantly offering a merit trade.  That's not going to fly here and I'm not sure why he thought it was OK to do that.

Please if any newbie here read this, do as i say.

Do not make any useless topic about merit in meta section. Learn first at the official thread about merit syaryed by theymos. You will make yourself ignored by some person if you always make a thread without learning first, thus decreasing your chance to get merits.

Another day on bitcointalk and another thread at the "Meta" section asking stupid questions about merit system which are all found with a little bit of effort from the OP's side. Well everyone likes to be an idiot.
Only idiots want to start such a stupid topic with their hope to earn merits from generous higher ranked users. Unfortunately, in most cases, particularly several months after the launch of merit system, they will hardly get merits by doing this, by using this foolish approach.
They could get merits with the approach several weeks ago, not now.

what is SMerit
"Spendable Merits" Every user is given an amount of sMerits on the day merit was started.

Quote
how many Merits can an account give away?
As much as they have.

Quote
are those periodically beeing refreshed?
Only for the merit sources. Not for others.

Quote
are legendary accounts or forum administrators allowed to give away infinte merit?
No. There is no such thing as infinite merit. That would make the system useless for what it was created for. Roll Eyes

Senior Member asked stupid question about merit system. To be honest, unbelievable! Such lazy user should not rank up to Senior Member. Thanks Theymos for launching merit system, which will prevent other cases like this one. Since the launching day of merit system, only constructive, deserved users can rank up to higher prices in the forum.
Of course, merit abusers can rank up, too. However they will be banned permanently some day. Don't worry about them.

If you can't find what are you looking for, check this thread
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/comprehensive-guide-to-bitcointalk-newbie-friendly-calculator-and-infographic-2534500

sMerit is the one you can send and it is separate from your Merit score.

You can give all your sMerit but there are some regulations. Up to 50 per member per month.

If you are not an merit source, then you get your sMerit by receiving merit for your posts. 2 received merit generates you 1 sMerit. This is the ratio.

Only merit sources have defined amount of sMerit per month they can give away.

Don't exchange the smerit, don't sell, trade or try to cheat. Reward only the valuable posts otherwise you can be tagged by DTs.
