These suggestions fall on deaf ears: the greatest – or perhaps, worst – cases of bounty management originate from the users most unwilling to ameliorate these circumstances.

There are some approach to make contributions and help decreasing spam in our beloved forum.

  • Reducing your own non-sense/ spam posts first
  • Reporting more actively

(1) It is hilarious to complain about spamming, and spam posts while you still do make non-sense, off-topic posts. Users should aware of each post they make, and try to control their fingers on keyboard if they don't have any valuable things to contribute from their posts.

(2) How to report?
[Guide] Reporting effectively
Do you often use report button? There are guides to more effectively report

Report when to see bad posts.
Report on daily basis. I meant each day you should spend 5 or 10 minutes to do your daily reports. How? By visiting patrol page (you can modify your patrol page (read in thread listed above). It sounds like very minor contribution, but if each user does it, forum will definitely become cleaner.
Report plagiarism with supports from some tools:
The [1] site is also very helpful if you use it to check your grammar and vocabulary after composing your posts. I love it, personally.
Finding plagiarism costs time, but it is easily to discover it if you see one usually make one-lined shit posts, then suddenly makes a long post, that is very good signal of likely plagiarism.

Where to report plagiarsim?
You can choose one of them or both.

I think spending more time to report shit posts is better than finding plagiarism, because there is plagiabot actively does it already.

Yea.. posts on signature campaign threads are just the tip of the iceberg. Most of the spam are still in the standard boards(bitcoin discussion, etc). I couldn't care less of the spam that's taking place on those altcoin bounty campaign threads. Still, one of the ways to decrease the spam(in my opinion) is to probably force the campaign managers to be a lot more strict on their post quality requirements.

1. Ask bounty hunters to delete their reports after they get their stakes. Consider a deadline. (for example one week)
~
3. It is about bitcoin paid signature campaigns: Fill a google form instead of making application posts. Managers can check applications in google sheets and then delete every one that does not deserve to participate in the campaign
posting reports and sigcamp applications are the least problem, let them spam their own threads
the main problem is when they spam any thread outside bounties sf to reach their weekly posting kuota
so your suggestions doesn't tackle the real issues here Undecided

The proof of authentication posts and signature applications only contributes a little to the underlying problem. The bulk of the posts made by the bounty Hunter to fulfil tasks (If it's a signature campaign) is what should be the primary concern.
Other users do not go into bounty/ANN threads looking for relevant posts.

Bounty managers should be encouraged to filter their selection process and only select members who have a track record of making quality contributions. And I would suggest a regular audit to ensure users are maintaining their regular standards of posts.

This suggestion is burdening campaign managers.
One manager can manage 3 to 5 campaigns not having much time, for that.

1. Ask bounty hunters to delete their reports after they get their stakes. Consider a deadline. (for example one week)
It is very inconvenient for a manager to send letters, one by one to participants to delete reports.

My opinion:
Leave it, the report evidence is important for managers, to correct a participant's mistakes in the future if something goes wrong, as long as it doesn't interfere, it doesn't matter in my opinion.

2. Go to your profile and fill your bitcoin address with an Ethereum address. ( It's better if moderators add Ethereum address or bounty addresses to users profiles) If the address is added to the profile there is no need to authentication posts. Managers can go to users profiles and fill the spreadsheet with that address.
The answer is almost the same as Question number 1, (time) drained by checking each participant profile, boring.

Proof of authentication, important later on.

3. It is about bitcoin paid signature campaigns: Fill a google form instead of making application posts. Managers can check applications in google sheets and then delete every one that does not deserve to participate in the campaign
Number 3 is also almost the same answer, a manager may not delete all existing applications. The application is kept for the manager's archive in the future, to be held accountable to the campaign company.
because the manager only manages the campaigns that are run, based on the trust of the company.
The advice you give is disastrous for future campaign managers.

Forums, have mods, each mod is quite expert / professional in handling spam. Let the mod resolve spam when you get it, Report.

In general, I believe application posts should be used, but proof of authentication, reports (weekly) should be stopped/ eliminated. Such kind of weekly reports on works of participants (Facebook, Twitter, whatever) should be done via Google Form. Especially, the reports on posts made each week for signature campaign should be eliminated because managers can easily do post-check. Requires such report is a kind of hidden bumping service for bounty threads.
Isn't POA being used as application post also ? I also prefer that bounty reports should be submitted via google form as it reduces spam. The problem I see with that is the possibility of bounty manager losing all the data, it already happened before.

There are some reasons:
1. How long since post check and stake confirmation from manager till the last day of report's delete? One week after checkday of each week, does it make sense?
2. It will cause issues if account hacked. This is why experienced managers ask for application post, then they will quote application post (includes information, userID, bitcoin address). Quotes always have their usefulness. There is no hacker can hack both participant's and manager's accounts.
3. Google Form has its drawbacks, one of them is manager can edit spreadsheet.

The forum administration doesn't endorse any type of bounty campaign on the forum but by providing users an option to input bounty addresses on their profile just as you have suggested. It simply sends a message that, the forum is encouraging bounty participations.

Your ideas aren't bad but they aren't new either. Many users have suggested similar solutions in the past but theymos has done nothing about enforcing them for understandable reasons. The suggestion i still feel stand out in decreasing the level of spam from bounty campaign on the forum, is the declaration of the use of only BTC and in some cases, ETH or any stablecoin as the only payment option for any campaign hosted on the forum be it signature or social media bounties.

If the administrators were to show any interest then they should test that suggestion and watch out for the outcome.

Your suggestions are fine to reduce spam in Altcoin Bounties board and that could be already a good thing for moderators although I can't judge which kind of posts are annoying there. It's quite common that Bounty threads are spammy per design.  Cheesy

In my opinion, the far bigger problem are shitposts in discussion boards such like Bitcoin discussion / Economics / Speculation / Altcoin discussion where shitposters go to submit their weekly required number of posts. They are derailing the discussion to post meaningless one-liners and their content isn't helpful at all. So I think it would be more important to clean up these boards.
Meanwhile, everyone of us is aware that there are tons of spam in Bounties (Altcoins) so we avoid going there because there's nothing to discuss. But the discussion boards are the ones where "discussion" is relevant and that's not possible if there are too many shitposts.

But it's a good intention anyway to make suggestions about limiting spam, so I appreciate your effort  Smiley

In most cases bounty managers need a proof that the account is actually owned by the person filling the form to avoid bounty cheaters. Otherwise, everyone could fill a form and claim to be owner of that account. If someone posts in the bounty thred he confirms to own the account.

Bitcoin = Financial freedom
More spams created due to complete their weekly post quota to get stakes or rewards. So if the bounty managers really care about the spammers they will restrict the number of participants to some level but most of the projects have unlimited cap for participants. So asking them to restrict spams is just useless.
