By the way, one thing that we must always remember that we must be careful. This is one of the important part to avoid scams. Even if we are knowledgeable and experienced enough, it may not work if we aren't careful. The carefulness is a must nowadays, the scammers are getting smarter, they can make more convincing projects.
That's right - that's the reality right now.
Scammers are everywhere – not just online, but they are all around us too. Not everyone you think is good is a good person - so no one can 100% trust anyone online or offline.

Many people probably need recognition for what they have achieved in the crypto space. One of the worst examples is showing off profits obtained from investing or trading on Facebook or social media. They don't know who is lurking behind the scenes and waiting for their weaknesses - so protecting financial privacy is really recommended for the security of your assets and yourself.
Trust no one but only yourself, that is the reality in crypto. No one can be trusted when it comes to crypto assets as scammers are smart enough to determine the value of bitcoin more than fiat. And when you do invest, do it privately that even your family and friends are not aware that you’re into bitcoin. Because there are times that even if you are very careful with your investments, but then your friends and family aren’t cautious enough and spread news to other people that you’re into it. At the end of the day, your investments are still put at risk without you knowing.

If you are knowledgeable, you will have more chances not to be scammed in the future. And you will also be aware  of the latest trends on scamming people which I think will greatly help not to fall as victims to their hands. However, no matter how we seem to be brighter and smarter, we should also not underestimate the potentials of scammers as they can always be wiser than us. But that will only happen if we are weak enough to fall on their traps.
Yep. If we have good knowledge, we may minimize the chance to be trapped in the scams. We can analyze the potential scams easier, understand suspicious project, know which airdrop/giveaway is fake, and should never share any private data. This can be done if we have knowledge, people who don't have knowledge may not care about this. That's why knowledge is important, and the newbies are demanded to focus on learning when they come to the forum or know crypto for the first time. Unfortunately, many newbies don't really care about learning, many of them prefer to focus on earning money instantly.

By the way, one thing that we must always remember that we must be careful. This is one of the important part to avoid scams. Even if we are knowledgeable and experienced enough, it may not work if we aren't careful. Topics like this should always be on this beginners and help section cause newbies have to learn how to securely navigate this crypto space that's full of fake and scam projects, and even now this bull run many newbies might fall for scam projects just because they didn't know how to properly identify scam projects.

I don't think exchanges can be trusted cause they are centralized and you know they can seize your assets and just shut down anytime, like in the case of my gox that got hacked, exchanges are a major target for hackers cause they hold lots of crypto and would be highly profitable to get them, that why self custody must be promoted.

(5) Use trusted exchange and wallet.

You should be specific and fully explain this, I don't trust centralized exchanges I worry every time I trade and deposit on a centralized exchange so do your diligence and always check the status of the CEX you're trading, and on a decentralized exchange, I have to be careful as some scammers are good at manipulating and imitating tokens that you're trading, you have to be fully aware if the token you are trading is the token you are looking to trade they always have that warning, especially on a new token.
And on the wallet, I don't trust a wallet that is not open-source.

Scammers are getting more fortification everyday, just stay safe,

To be honest, scammers are getting more and more common these days, particularly in the crypto industry, so one must exercise caution in anything they do. On the internet, con artists are laying traps that, if someone isn't watchful, they will fall into and some will be taken advantage of. Thus, let's always exercise caution before using the internet for anything, even conducting in-depth independent research.

(1) DYOR (Do your own research) always verify the legitimacy of a project or platform before investing your money and time.

Following people's advice without your own personal research can lead someone in the wrong direction and make them lose everything they have. If someone wants to be successful in this life, especially in the cryptocurrency industry, one must have good knowledge and always do their own personal research before investing in any project. Many people lose money in the crypto industry nowadays not because of anything but because they are following people's advice with their own research.

(2) Avoid suspicious links: Be cautious when clicking on links, especially if they seems too good to be true or from an unknown sources.
Suspicious links should be avoided unless you know the source of the links. Links are a strategic tool scammers use to get people to follow their victims, so to avoid scammers, do not always click on any links like that until you are very sure of the source.

The last tip has the most appeal to me. No need to rush, always take your time to gain knowledge about how to secure your crypto and protect them from all types of scam. Unplanned decisions will only put you into a worst situation, such as making you fall for the scammer’s trap since your greed is bigger than your own knowledge in crypto.

A lot of crypto investors who end up in failure are those whose actions and decisions are motivated by greed, thus if you want to stay safe and protected at all times, follow the basics and get rid of greed.

(5) Use trusted exchange and wallet.
There is no trusted exchanges. If they are centralized exchanges, you can not trust them with your money.

Saying you can't trust them with your money is too big of a statement because you can't trust the decentralized exchanges either as they're not better options. in fact DEX are getting more hacked than CEX. We have reputed exchange that you can use for trading, this exchange have been operating for quite sometime and are unlikely to scam you when you use their exchanges for trading but what you shouldn't do is to use exchange wallets as a place to store your cryptocurrency.

Traders keeping some money on exchanges are taking a big risk even though they'll need those funds for quick trades and can save some dollars on transaction fees but an investor has no point storing their bought coins on exchanges. You can avoid exchanges until they gained some reputation among the community. I don't use an exchange that's hasn't experienced the bear market. I'll use the old and reputable exchange over the news ones attracting users with their juicy offers.

We're human beings, we have to trusts so I'm giving credit to some of the exchange that has been provided service to the community even though they aren't the exchange we were hoping will provide those service. All what I'm trying to say is that we have reputable exchange that you can use for trading and trading only.

Just to add on the list you provided, here are some factors that you should take note in order to prevent any scam from happening to you:

  • If the investment is too good to be true, ignore and leave;
  • Fake ANNs with copy-pasted Whitepaper and fake team members; and
  • Avoid talking to random strangers and accepting their requests with suspicious links

As someone who has been reporting fake ANNs and scammers in this forum, the second and the third scenario happens frequently. Mostly, some people are approached by newbies telling them to invest in a certain website which contains too good to be true investment rates (e.g. ponzi schemes) but they are all scams in the end.

Under the ANN board, there are hundreds of ANNs advertising their newly created cryptocurrency and altcoins. Always double-check the information being posted and you can also visit the "scam accusation" board to check if you have any doubts to a specific project.

(1) DYOR (Do your own research) always verify the legitimacy of a project or platform before investing your money and time.
The is reason newbies are advised to avoid investing unless they have good knowledge about cryptocurrency first and the industry, because if you they have the proper knowledge how can someone do it own research and know they best project to invest in. Personal research is very important because you will know what to do and what to not do because of proper information you may get, but if you are relying on someone advise it hardly to know proper things to do because you just be following what is doing whether is getting big risk or no, someone may not know.

(2) Avoid suspicious links: Be cautious when clicking on links, especially if they seems too good to be true or from an unknown sources.

It's crucial to be caution when using the internet! Watch out for dubious links that may not be what they seem at all times. A link could be a fraud if it makes grand claims or comes from an unknown person. Scams are similar to cunning plans to obtain personal information or create problems. Thus, be careful and refrain from clicking on dubious links. It's similar to not opening an unexpected parcel from an unknown sender you never know what might be inside! You can safeguard yourself and maintain a joyful and secure online environment by exercising caution.
(3) keep personal information private: Never share sensitive information like private key or seed phase with anyone.
Some people lose a lot of things both offline and online as a result of disclosing personal information to strangers. Therefore, anyone who wants to preserve their asset must completely refrain from disclosing any personal information. It's crucial to keep our private key and seed phase confidential, especially when it comes to cryptocurrencies, unless we are genuinely trusted.

(4) Beware of fake giveaway.

it is imperative to exercise extreme caution, particularly when an offer of something of value is made. I really advise you to look into giveaways and make sure they're coming from a reliable source before getting too excited about them. Giveaways are a tool used by con artists to draw attention and fool people into parting with valuables. It would therefore be wise to decline and not take any dangers unless you are positive about the source of the freebie. You may avoid these cunning crooks on the internet by exercising caution and doing your research!

Doing your own research will surely help someone avoiding scam attempts. That is to remain updated how those scammers are scamming everyone so that you will gain ideas if ever you experience the same thing or that you can advise other people if they are currently scammed or not. At least, with your knowledge, you can take an edge over those scammers or you can help other people how to be aware so they won't be scam in the process.

Goodnight, ohh Leo!!! 🦅
@Barikui1 since we are sharing tips here, let me share you one: if you want to get some merit (as this is obviously a merit fihsing topic) you will have to put some effor into your topics, instead copy/pasting post from binance, without adding anything of your own.
Lol... That's magical Rika...
I was wondering why it sounded so much like something I've read before?? Then I scrolled down a bit, only to get caught up in your post.. everyone's trying so hard to repeat old points with new words.. I don't see that as a valid thread cus when I saw the caption at first, I thought he had something different to tell us.

Ehhh, I know too well that there isn't a way to evade crypto scams totally, so the least you can do is protect yourself. About clicking on phishing links - haven't y'all got spam folders to trap this links from getting into your mailbox?

Scammers are getting more fortification everyday, just stay safe,

The crypto industry is full of scammers so we just need to be careful with our daily activities else someone might take advantage of us, no one will safeguard you so we need to do it by ourselves. Good initiative by posting a reminder to remind us all of the dangers of scam and our to safeguard ourselves. Some people might not take it seriously but aa word is enough for the wise, don’t wait till you fall victim before protecting yourself.

(1) DYOR (Do your own research) always verify the legitimacy of a project or platform before investing your money and time.

This is so common with newbies, they will just want to invest in anything they come across just because others are talking about it, they would invest in a project they know nothing about neglecting the fact that it’s not safe or rather they lack proper knowledge to understand the concept of the crypto world. They are just so keen on making an investment on a certain project because of some fake promises made to them. The crypto industry is full of deception and lies that’s why it is so important to carry out research on any project you come across, we should not underestimate the power of DYOR.

(2) Avoid suspicious links: Be cautious when clicking on links, especially if they seems too good to be true or from an unknown sources.

Any suspicious links should be ignored. In fact, we shouldn't merely click on any link received from an unknown source. instead, we should always confirm the legitimacy of the source and the content before acting on the information. Scammers utilise links, which are extremely risky, to entice victims.

(5) Use trusted exchange and wallet.

Securing your assets is the top priority as an investor; selecting a suitable wallet for your assets and implementing the best security practices are essential. How and where we store our assets is a crucial issue we need to address first when investing in crypto because when your assets are gone, there will be nothing left to secure. In order to avoid utilising a fraudulent or untrustworthy exchange, it is crucial to verify the legitimacy and reputation of the platform before choosing a wallet or exchange to complete a transaction.

The only way to avoid these scammers is not to communicate with strangers especially on social media platforms. Because these scammers will target our weakness and they are known to have such skills. With the use of their communication skills, many will surely fall into their traps.
That is why we have to analyze the situation first before making a decision and keeping in mind that scammers are around us, they will do their best as well to have a victim. Trust no one aside from yourself. We can't fall into scams if we keep ourselves aware of the situation and consider everyone as a scammer.

It is only few beginners who are opportune to get orientation about scam that can always escape the the trap of scammers.  It takes thorough reasoning to understand what is scam because this scammers are very intelligent which they try to frame things and make it look as real. Getting understanding on how scammers works is very important for every beginner that should not be taking for granted.

There are different ways we can establish that would help us and prevent us from falling victim to crypto scammers.
Op had listed some of the ways we can employ that would make us stay safe from scammers and this could help us a lot for a long time. It is known that many scammers are always looking for ways to make sure they employ to make their victims vulnerable to them so that they can steal and rib them of their properties. A lots of things would need to be put into consideration for us to stay safe.

Scammers are not alien, they are nothing but normal human like us but they possess this speciality and it's because they think ahead of everyone. Before a scammers will want to develop a model to scam, as they formulate their plans, they already know your next move even before you do and the only way to stay ahead of them is to stay updated.

Our problem is some of us are very lazy to read, we don't want to read and that's why we do the wrong things most of the time. When you read and stay up to date about crypto, yiu will likely have no problem or come across them especially when you avoid greed very well.

In addition, make sure you remain a private person because if information about you isn't online, no way they can every know your moves. It's when you are a public figure, you become highly easy to get through.

Also, some are being tempted with the hyped surrounding the project, not thinking about the real intentions of those people behind such project.
They thought they can easily get profits and be rich once they got a hold of those tokens or coins.
But it is already too late when they realized that they got screwed by those "devs", as they abandoned the building.
Just look at how many fake giveaways or airdrops you will encounter, and how these users are accusing that crypto is a fraud.
But is their actions why they are getting duped in this market. The technology itself is not a problem, it is the people using it.

(4) Beware of fake giveaway.

I have just created a warning thread about fake Metamask airdrop. There are a lot of such fake/scam airdrops/giveaways running on social media. Most of the time newbies are attracted to them due to lack of knowledge and greedyness.

Scammers normally run more of these fake airdrops/giveaways during the bullish market. So newbies should be careful during the upcoming bullish market.

Nice, but I'd like to reiterate some of the points you highlighted.

(1) DYOR (Do your own research) always verify the legitimacy of a project or platform before investing your money and time
Very important, always do due diligence before committing your funds in any project.

(5) Use trusted exchange and wallet.
Use trusted exchange to trade and not to store funds. Also, use tested and trusted open source wallets like Trezor hardware wallet, Coldcard hardware wallet, electrum wallet, blue wallet, unstoppable wallet etc to store funds.

(6) Don't rush: Take time to make informed decisions, and don't let anyone to pressurize you into acting quickly.
Don't give in to pressure from anyone or take advice from social media influencers, they are only working to their pockets, they careless if the project succeeds or not.

With the giveaways, participants will have hard time in determining them if they're fake. When most of them are newbies and they think that every giveaway is actually a giveaway but they don't notice it that they've been asked for some transfers and they have to cover the fees of it and that's going to give liquidity to the project that they're joining with the airdrop or any other giveaway. But with that, they're also becoming careless and don't check it correctly if they're joining a legitimate one or a project that just collects them a commission from the fees they make on their platforms and as well as the identities they are providing to them.

One advice is missing here, either the projects team are audited and solid it still doesn't mean it's scam free, so it's better to care more about investing only what you can afford to lose, anything apart from Bitcoin is still a very high risk investment.

The problem I have with alts is that they don't always survive long, you can't buy alt and decide to marry your bag like having Bitcoin and deciding to hold till your retirement, the alt can varnish after a successful bull market or it value goes to zero due to lack of development.

It's even more scary that many more layer 1 and 2 alts are been created almost every month now, believe me, it's all business, money making, once the opportunity is achieved it's possible that a massive dump will follow later and the project might never survive.

The most recent gist. BE CAREFUL OF FAKE TWITTER ACCOUNTSS.

Recently, scammers have turned twitter (X APP) to their abode. Every time a legit project make a post on their page, the scammers post immediately after the original post (IF YOU ARE NOT VIGILANT, YOU WILL FALL VICTIM)

See the screenshots below, so you can understand the bait posts from these scammers on the X APP (Formerly Twitter). The true postis above, while the scammer is right beneath )in red box)

I don’t use to know X (formerly knows as Twitter) as a place where scammers feast on, telegram was well knows for that over the years and many call was made in the forum about fake telegram accounts that are scamming people on a daily basis. I see now that people are aware and being careful of not being scammed with fake projects through telegram, they are now trying to move to another social platform to continue their shady activities. We should be careful and remain on the watch out for scammers on all social media’s.

We can argue about these points, but they are general and require detail. For example, if you told me DYOR (Do your own research), how would I apply that, as Google search results may be misleading, many scammers have paid articles, YouTube channels may lead to wrong results without specifying where? I could search it would be DYOR is just a term.

I think when someone says you should do your own research is basically referring before one puts their money into platform they should consult people over here if actually such person is user here then it will be more easier for the person to come asked or create a topic regarding such investment he may wants to venture into, using google can even make it worsted because same people paid google for their aids. That is why here is more reliable to source for information than going directly to google, at least one could get some reputable member that would come talk about their general overview about the platform or site you are DYOR on.

Always learned from other people's shared experiences about how they were scammed, so that you can also share your learning to others most particularly those newbies in the forum.

Scam is already part of crypto, and the only way we can avoid it is to stay alert and mindful on the people around us.

I guess the best way to stay off from crypto crypto scammers is to stay educated and be more updated on how the current pattern of scamming are done. With this, you are one step an edge from them since you're aware already on how they will attack their victims. Once you see it's happening on you, then get rid of that person either by blocking him or avoid that person so that he can never have an access to you, and worst he can never have an access to your wallet.

There are many cloned websites out there

Scammer can clone reputable website to deceive people. Such website recently scammed my friends of some dollar. He tried to run an airdrop, but he mistakenly did the process on a cloned website. Is coin was later withdrew from his wallet after connecting the wallet with the website. This days, one have to make a good check on any website you are trying to connect your wallet with because scammer never sleep on their tricks and they are always out there for a victim.

(1) DYOR (Do your own research) always verify the legitimacy of a project or platform before investing your money and time.
It’s high time we stop listening to what people say. Some people hype a particular project just for their own selfish interests, so when investing In a particular project, always ignore the hype and take your time to do your own research before investing in it. I don’t even encourage people to invest in new projects because you are going to find it difficult to identify a real project from a scam. Some projects always look so real, and you will hardly notice any red flags. So if you are not investing in bitcoin, always take your time to do research before investing in other projects.

(2) Avoid suspicious links: Be cautious when clicking on links, especially if they seems too good to be true or from an unknown sources.
Whenever you receive any link, I will just recommend you ignore the link and don’t even try to open it because it might end up corrupting your system. Lots of people have been scammed just because they don’t care to know the legitimacy of the link they are clicking. Some of them don’t care if it’s from a legit source or not, they will end up clicking it, and when it directs them to maybe a site, some might even input their private information, so unknown links should be avoided by all means.

(3) keep personal information private: Never share sensitive information like private key or seed phase with anyone.
If you can store your private key with anyone, then you have already given the person access to your wallet, and they can decide to take whatever they want from you at any moment without even seeking your permission. If you are storing your private key, then it should be known to only you. If you expose it, then your wallet is at risk. That’s why your wallet shouldn’t be stored in any place that is connected to the internal. Hackers can easily hack your device and have access to your private key.

(4) Beware of fake giveaway.
Do people still believe in giveaways? That scam strategy looks so cheap to me. How will you expect money when you don’t work for it? Then you are likely going to be scammed. Nobody is giving out free money, anyone claiming to give you free money is just trying to take it from you. I no longer believe in giveaways, if you need money, then you have to work for it. Nobody is giving out free money, so we all should always try and avoid giveaway.

Many of the victims don't admit that they have never signed up a phishing link or visited a suspicious website and downloaded a file from there.

They don't know that these links are dangerous and when they have been scammed or hacked, they play ignorant that they're experts and never had done a thing.

That's why if you are giving them tips and they are in denial and don't see these helpful, they are the real problem. I don't blame them but I've encountered these type of victims that don't take full responsibility of their actions and that's why the bad happened.

(2) Avoid suspicious links: Be cautious when clicking on links, especially if they seems too good to be true or from an unknown sources.
These are truly important points, and I hope beginners pay significant attention to them. Regarding point number (2), I can add that no beginner should connect his wallet or sign transactions through any suspicious links. He should avoid using his primary wallet if he is an airdrop hunter. He can use some browser security extensions that enhance security, perform phishing website detection, and analyze smart contracts, such as Wallet Guard, AegisWeb3, and Pocket Universe, in addition to MetaMask wallet, which often blocks phishing sites. However, it's also crucial to download these extensions from their official websites without installing any fake extensions or wallets.

(6) Don't rush: Take time to make informed decisions, and don't let anyone to pressurize you into acting quickly.
We can combine point number (1) with this last point. Instead of rushing and making decisions or activities that we might regret, we should take enough time to do our research and review all the project details in which we will invest our money or participate in one of the launched giveaways/Airdrops. We must ensure that we are dealing with the official domain, not a phishing domain. Also, we should verify the information included in the project, such as the whitepaper and all the fine details, and then make the appropriate decision.

This might look underrated but it's one of the needed one, avoiding this one will help you a lot because this drain wallet faster than anything if you are not careful.

(3) keep personal information private: Never share sensitive information like private key or seed phase with anyone.

Most of us don't value privacy, if you can hide what is beneath you on your cloth, then you need to hide your investment, your bitcoin is yours and not for you public to see and view, chain surveillance are everywhere watching you with their automated bots looking at the input and outputs of your wallets which is very bad practice.

Giveaways are trap, we have many ways of wallet poisonings now across different chain, if you stamp on any of them, your balance is as good as gone.
There is nothing as trusted friend, with decentralized exchange you don't need any trust, only centralized makes you want to trust them.

There is no trusted exchanges. If they are centralized exchanges, you can not trust them with your money.
Exchanges help us trade our coins. I guess there's nothing wrong with using exchanges. Binance is trusted; they are unlikely to scam you. They may withhold your cryptocurrency but they would only do that if they have a valid reason for doing so. I hate Binance because they are one of the stupid entities in the market but they aren't going to scam you. Well, if you mean using exchange as wallet, that's a big NO for obvious reason; Not your key, not your coins. I don't mind using a CEX but that must for trade only.

(5) Use trusted exchange and wallet.

A well-chosen point because some people don't even know how to distinguish between good and reliable exchanges, and it's always good to make good consultations in terms of selecting but exchanges and wallets, and there are good wallets and exchanges that will give you exactly what you want in terms of security and other features.
Do we have any trusted exchange? because I know you mean centralized exchange because that is what newbies are using mostly because they find it easy to use and are not afraid of KYC just because they want to get involve in cryptocurrency activities.
Avoid leaving your crypto investments and bitcoins in an exchange, take the exchanges both centralized and decentralized exchanges as a marketplace to trade, buy and sell your Bitcoin.

The truth is that exchanges cannot be trusted, but they can be avoided. I believe it is preferable to deal there and then retain your assets in your private wallet. The kyc is one of the factors deterring many people from participating in exchanges. There is a wallet available, and if your assets are in your wallet, you will be able to see them at any time, with no third-party story. And this are little tricks that can save a lot from scams and privacy exposure and trusting exchanges.

How about not trusting any platform that requires you to send them your Bitcoin to make investment on your behalf, Bitcoin has given you the power to be incharge, don't give that away for some few dollars that isn't even guaranteed. If you're not buying and hodling your Bitcoin in a non constodial wallet, you shouldn't be partaking in that form of investments as it's not safe.

(4) Beware of fake giveaway.

Instead of just beware of fake giveaways, avoid them all. You can't be sure which giveaway is guaranteed safe as hackers are going extra mile to make their tricks look believable. They're going as far as hacking prominent social media accounts to announce their fake giveaways and getting alot of victims. Avoiding anything that has to do with giveaways will save you more than trying to filter them to know which one is genuine or not.

(6) Don't rush: Take time to make informed decisions, and don't let anyone to pressurize you into acting quickly

Op had listed some of the ways we can employ that would make us stay safe from scammers and this could help us a lot for a long time. It is known that many scammers are always looking for ways to make sure they employ to make their victims vulnerable to them so that they can steal and rib them of their properties. Good tips OP but since you copied the post from an exchange news feed, they won’t tell you that it is not safe to keep your money on exchanges but use the word “trusted exchanges” to compel you to bank with them. It is not safe to store your money on exchanges unless you want to exchange them for fiat, keeping your money there expose you to more risk of losing them. Not your keys, not your coins.
Exchange should never be considered to be an option to keep money no matter the good reputation the exchange carries, exchanges are not to be trusted because it is something that can be manipulated. Their so many scammmers that the exchange is a target for them, it is not advisable to keep money in exchange.  Exchange should be a place where instant trade is carried out. Scammers we have in the exchange their plans is either to scam or to hack the exchange for them to have access to people's money.

Most frauds happen on crypto platforms and we should always be careful to avoid these frauds. Fraudsters are always smarter than us and they always come up with new tricks to cheat so we have to stay one step ahead of those who are scammers so that we don't fall into any of their traps. One should never share one's personal information with anyone and I think one should never share anything personal with one's loved ones. Important matters should always be kept private. There is no need to discuss having your own investment with everyone as fraudsters can lure you into various traps. Another thing is that many times when talking to various exchange account support when messaging in Telegram groups many fraudsters will send you personal messages with exact names try to avoid them because they can cheat you with your personal information.
Scammers have new tricks to deceive potential victims, but if we always find out first before deciding, it can prevent us from being scammed. If we see interesting information, we should not be tempted but look for other information. Our job is to ensure that the information is legit to avoid scamming.

People most often encounter an offer to invest in an investment program. They don't look for reviews or other information. Many of them will immediately register so they can take advantage of the benefits. Even though that doesn't guarantee they can get it.

DYOR can help us find the truth. But be careful when searching because many sites also do not provide clear information. Everything will depend on the search results and research we carry out. If we still doubt it, we shouldn't join. Many others can really give us benefits.

(4) Beware of fake giveaway.

It's true that Scammers will always use recordings of famous entrepreneurs to encourage users to visit their crypto investment promotion websites. Now. Regarding the distribution of giveaways, it is not only hitting the crypto world now, but other social media have also claimed many victims. The point is, you have to be smart before someone follows suit, especially in crypto in the form of Airdrop.

The simple way is, don't share your confidential data in the form of your wallet password on malicious websites and always verify again if someone offers help, often in groups that are not official admins, if one day you have problems and need a good solution, whatever the problem is related to investment, not just Airdrop just.

If you can, use the Wikibit application to avoid various risks in the crypto space that are targeting you.

We can argue about these points, but they are general and require detail. For example, if you told me DYOR (Do your own research), how would I apply that, as Google search results may be misleading, many scammers have paid articles, YouTube channels may lead to wrong results without specifying where? I could search it would be DYOR is just a term.

 - Avoid suspicious links: The best thing to say is to avoid clicking on any link unless you are 100% sure that it is reliable.
 - Use trusted exchange and wallet: You need to delve into the details of what a trusted wallet is.

(1) DYOR (Do your own research) always verify the legitimacy of a project or platform before investing your money and time.

This is needed to do so that we can actually know the real situation on the site we are trying to invest since researching for more information is important so that we will not get baited on false promises so DYOR is needed to avoid this.

(2) Avoid suspicious links: Be cautious when clicking on links, especially if they seems too good to be true or from an unknown sources.

To many like that here so to avoid getting serious problem that can cause a lot of issues then people should avoid that and they need to know first what are those links they are clicking so they can assure safety of there devices or any harmful effects for doing it.

(3) keep personal information private: Never share sensitive information like private key or seed phase with anyone.

This we should put all important data as secret and never share anything especially our important information and keys so that we will not get scam and its important to know by people that they should be the only one know about this so that they can avoid hacking or to lose their funds for unwanted events.

(4) Beware of fake giveaway.

There's lot of that can be seen online and if the giveaway organizer saying that you need to pay first before you can get the prize then better forget about it since this is a scam.

(5) Use trusted exchange and wallet.

Even if they are been called a trusted exchange and wallet still I will not trust them so people need to be careful since there's a lot of supposed to be trusted exchange exist before but later on they scam a lot of people. To avoid experiencing this issue better save your crypto to wallet where you can grab and safely store your private key so that it will be more safer if decide to hold for long time. Remember that Not Your Keys Not Your Coins saying.

(6) Don't rush: Take time to make informed decisions, and don't let anyone to pressurize you into acting quickly.

We need sometime to think about decision we think since its really important to gather lots of information regarding on what we need to know about the investments we are interested on. To avoid getting issue we should examine first if its really worth it and do more research or even ask feedback to get good insights about this.

These are interconnected. With what I am seeing with airdrops craze lately, people are running over with the potential profits that they can make easily with these free money.

Too many giveaways are being made everyday and people just typically clicks the llinks and downloads the apps of these unknown projects.

While there goes the people that have been easily and no worry connecting their wallets to these random websites that are part of the task of the giveaway.

Aside from #2, I think you can also add there about beware of downloading unusual apps.

Doing your own research will surely help someone avoiding scam attempts. This is an additional to do your own research which is to research about different typed of scam attempts then when you see something the same as what you have searched then you'll know that it's a scam. In other words, you will have lots or knowledge about how scammers scam people or how scammers scam people. If you know many types then it would be much easier to avoid scam sites and many more. It could slso be shared to another person to let them know that it is a scam scheme.

Recently, scammers have turned twitter (X APP) to their abode. Every time a legit project make a post on their page, the scammers post immediately after the original post (IF YOU ARE NOT VIGILANT, YOU WILL FALL VICTIM)

Twitter is seriously becoming a den of scammers the way the telegram app is. The issue of this twitter is first made worse when the current owner (Elon Musk) decided to make the blue tick a form of subscription which was actually a sign before of a reputable account. Social media is always risky to take information from most especially that which concerns anything monetary related. Just as it is on the OP’s thread it is always good to first make your own proper research before investing or do anything.

(1) DYOR (Do your own research) always verify the legitimacy of a project or platform before investing your money and time.

Doing your own research is very important because it will let you know the advantages and disadvantages of what you want to study. You will also know the risk of the investment, including how the investment works, how to store it, how to manage the risk, and any other things you will need in such a business. But while doing your own research, make sure you are getting that knowledge from reliable sources. Because if you follow only one source, you may get the wrong information, and you will fall victim to a scam project. So I will advise you to study any investment well before investing. You need to gather different knowledge from different sources of such investment before making any steps towards that investment.

Using a trusted exchange is good, but don’t leave your funds there. Even though you copied their content on Binance News, I will not advise you to leave money in their exchange unless you need the money at that time. Because exchanges have more risk, Binance will not tell you that you shouldn’t use them to store your money because that is what they want. People should leave their money in their exchange, so with this, I think you should go back and follow the first step you mention. DYOR.

OP some of the points you have raised look valid. But I want to add that you don't have to trust centralised exchanges. Deal with them with utmost care and caution. Let me also add that when choosing wallets select non-custodial open-sourced wallets. Avoid crypto projects that promise so much returns, don't be greedy.
