It is less of a problem buying BTC using PayPal than it is selling, as they will usually side with the buyer if there is a dispute. This case proves the point.

I have successfully bought bitcoins off ebay and ebay's classifieds before this. The username "kinjamekin" was the one who tried to scam me. He put up a new listing for 6 bitcoins, trying to steal somebody's 3 grand. And I don't even think it was his paypal account that I received the refund from because I got an email from paypal saying how they couldn't get the $63 out of his bank account. So he's just linking up new credits cards and whenever someone sends him money, he takes the money out and unlinks his cc. Just a warning, don't buy shit from kinjamekin on Ebay because he will fuck you.

The first rule of Buying/Selling BitCoins.....DON'T USE PAYPAL/EBAY/CreditCard....use CASH, in PERSON, in A CROWDED AREA (so you dont get mugged later on.)

Well, got $63 back but that's only because the seller didn't write shit in the claim. If he did idk if I'd get it back. Moral of the story: Don't buy bitcoins on fucking Ebay.

It's a good idea to avoid Ebay and Paypal all together - nothing but problems.

Thanks for the replies.

I called Ebay, told them to look through our exchanged messages but they weren't able to see them? They said that if I used paypal, I should contact them. So I just filed a claim for an item "Not received" straight through paypal, attached a video that showed basically everything. Just hoping for the best...

Time is on our side, yes it is!
It is my understanding that in situations such as this it is highly unlikely you will be refunded any funds you lost.  Especially if they are aware your Tranaction involves Bitcoin.  I could be mistaken but it seems like a typical scam that happens alot using Paypal transactions.  I hope I'm wrong in this case but I pretty certain your not going to get a refund.  Sad

I ordered a 0.1 Bitcoin for $63 via Ebay's classified listings. Me and the buyer exchanged several messages, said he'd send it shortly but he's now just ignoring me. Question is, how can I now get my money back? Do I file an unauthorized transaction claim, say that my account was compromised? or should I just select "Problem with a product" and explain everything? I'm sure Ebay can see the messages exchanged between me and the seller. But since paypal doesn't support "digital goods" I'm kind of unsure what to do. Should I call paypal and explain?

Someone please help me.

if it was ebay classifieds then it wasnt through ebay it was directly to paypal file a claim
