I personally never do any transaction using BCH, but I guess it works as much as BTC. When you are doing a transaction the address will be changed for security purposes. By receiving to the new address, you will still receive your coin into your ledger. Actually you can still use the old address to receive the coins, but for security purposes like I mentioned above, using the new address generated is more preferable.

Well for the first one, once you have the coins -- you have the coins and that is it. No one is able to take it back and that'll be that. So you don't have to worry about your money being confiscated like in sorts of services such as paypal.

For the second one, you're always going to be getting new receive addresses-- that's something that most if not all wallets do. So you can use any wallet you like, it'll end up going into your main one in the end when you go to send out your coins anyway.

Thanks for sharing and i will keep this in mind.

I want to decide when my public address gets swapped and a system that cannot deal
with this is not very good in my book but maybe moving forwards we all need a single
address like an email address type thing that will accept all payments for all coins

So much is wrong with BTC and how the block-chain works that i could write a book
on it.

I wasn't sure if this was the correct forum thread but here goes.

I have a Ledger Nano S Hardware Wallet and something odd is happening...

I recently managed to claim my BCH, which currently sits in an Electron Cash wallet. I did a small test transfer from the Electron Cash wallet to my Nano S and it worked fine. Note that the BCH receiving address for my Nano S wallet ended with ***mfFAG.

So, I prepared to send another larger amount (I want to transfer all funds) but this time, when I clicked the "RECEIVE" button from within my my Nano S, the address was different?

I checked, I am definitely in my BCH wallet. Strange. I decided to send to this new (different) address anyway and the payment failed. So, I tried another payment but to the first address ending with ***mfFAG and once again it worked. I now have two payments from Electron Cash to the Nano S.

Questions:

1. Once I see BCH in my Nano S Hardware Wallet, are they "safe" or could they be deleted/revoked if address was found to be wrong?

2. In future I should always pay to address ending with ***mfFAG and ignore my Nano S "RECEIVE" address?
