Did just your post get deleted or the whole thread ?

There is also a lot of spam from newbies on the forum. Newbies are moderated by patrollers and they occasionally make mistakes.

Have a look at the rules and see if anything could be the cause for them to be deleted.

There are a lot of newbies who are unaware about some violations here in this forum that makes them irresponsible.

They should read first the rules and regulations so that they know what to do and contribute here without doing something inappropriate.

But we're lucky that we have moderators here who are observing this forum 24/7 and responsible on regulating quality posts.

I think I am going to LEAVE this forum  Sad  since one of my first posts got deleted for no good reason.

I spent a whole bunch of time making a Bitcoin related website, and then I wanted to share the ad-free site for free.

The post was soon deleted, despite it being directly on-topic, and even after 5-6 people participated in conversation about it.

Do admins have a delete post quota they need to fill?

Mods don't have a quota of deletions to fill (it is mainly the mods and not the admins who delete posts ). However, bounty spammers do have quotas of posts to inflict on the forum, and because of the high probability that many of their posts will be deleted, they have to exceed their quota by a significant margin to compensate for this.

According to me, maybe your created post was on wrong topic thread and that's why they deleted your post. I also faced this problem on some times. But still I'm trying to improve my post quality and trying to help others persons.

Happens to all, looks like mods are making a great job here cleaning the forum, and that's great because this is a huge forum, and fill it with trash is not the right way for knowledge. Just remember, sometimes is your post what's get deleted, other times is the full thread. So, the best way to avoid this is to not post on the spam threads or threads who you think mods can delete, and to not get out from the thread topic. That's the right way to roll.
Definitely all moderators are trying to clear all spam and copy past post on this forum. Cause they don't wanna see any useless post on this biggest forum. If you make knowledgeable post for others people than there have no chance to get deleted post and others important things need to follow is don't post wrong post on any topic or reply. I respect mods rolls and I think their job is very essential for this forum.

Honestly, about your post got deleted I was going to reply here that moderators doesn't have quota to follow and moderators are deleting  posts that are shitpost but I don't want to offend you in that way. It also happen to me too especially if you posted in wrong section or in spam mega thread as mentioned by xtraelv even if your post is meritable it still considered as spam.

I also delete some comments, my friend, look, most importantly - do not incite racism. Write in a fact, with the mind, and not "aah, how funny, like a subscription." And the moderation will not touch you. Wink

I am alive but in hibernation.
I was also wondering why your post got deleted. After reading Suchmoon reply , I understood what exactly happened.

If you see topic "Do you believe in God" is locked now but OP of the topic was last active on November 13, 2016.

Since it become spam megathread , somebody reported your post and requested for lock of thread. (For Locking of spam megathread ,you need to report last post . I assume your post was last because when topic is locked it is showing last post was created at August 2 and you posted on Aug 22.)

Moderator deleted your post and locked the thread and since your next reply was only in gap of 7-8 minutes in same board and again in mega thread so might moderator decided to delete as that well.

Conclusion: Avoid posting in threads that go beyond 5 pages.

Some posting etiquette:
1. You already read all the replies posted there before posting your reply.
2. You are proposing some thing that is still not said till now in the thread.

When thread already pass 20 + pages it become obvious , you did not read everything and just posted for spam.

Some thread might be exception but thread with a very generic question is obvious spam.

Thanks man, im so pleased im not the only one! and thanks for the merit and looking out for me. Its disheartening when you engage with a topic and have it deleted  Wink

Suchmoon had a possible reason:

Those posts in the screenshot seem like generic talking points and one was in a 200-page thread, another in a 10+ page thread, both seem to be just addressing the thread title and not engaging in the discussion. Could be considered low value posts depending on where exactly in the thread they were etc. Edit: the battery concern was definitely expressed in that thread about a dozen times so if FM posted towards the end of the thread then it indicates they didn't read it or didn't care.

A lot of those big megathreads are often used by people in signature campaigns to meet their posting quota so moderators in a response to try to stop the practice delete posts that are deemed "low quality" (Rule 1)

The spammers and bots are making it hard for people on the forum - especially those starting out.

Don't let it affect you.  I've also had posts deleted where I have been puzzled. It is sometimes hard for the moderators to judge those that have an intent to engage in conversation and those that just churn out content to meet their signature campaign requirements.

I personally cannot see anything wrong with them - unless they were posted in a thread that was talking about something else and they were off topic. It is more likely that they were mistakenly deleted. I'll quote the post in another thread on meta and see if I can get an answer for you.

Im kinda new to bitcoin talk and I'm enjoying joining in some of the conversations, but on occasions Im getting messages deleted.
I'm kind of curious why? Do admins have a delete post quota they need to fill?

for example below are two posts which I feel very much on topic with the subject matter..

the first one was about 'does god exist'
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/do-you-believe-in-god-1566146

and the second one was about 'are electric cars the future?'
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2862902.240

please advise are admins part time moonlighting as post critics?
