Wow, lots of information - definitely more than I ever would have imagined. But it all makes sense now. I've discovered that the "magic number" of BEs in the Satechi is only 5. I'm running a few more off other ports, and added some to my laptop. This should suffice for now, until I can come up with a better solution.

That seems about right ... I've also been working with some helpful people in the IRC channel - it looks like the magic # for me is 5 BEs. I'm not getting anymore 'nonce/HW' errors.
I'm still somewhat new to mining, so I'm starting out with a Satechi 12-port powered hub. I have a total of 13 block eruptors. I can invest in more hubs easy enough. I've reviewed the specifications on the Satechi - each port provides 5 volts, 250 milliamps.
Block Erupters require 500ma. So that is only half the power needed. What is the voltage and the total current of the power supply itself?
If each of 12 ports can get 250ma then *maybe* 6 can get 500ma??

CGMiner is now showing all AMU devices, but those above AMU 3 are randomly showing 'invalid nonce - HW error'.
They're on a powered hub, but some consumer feedback indicated that the necessary power wasn't being sent to all ports in the hub.
Any thoughts?

How many ports do your hubs have?
What is the voltage and current the power supply for the hub capable of?
How many Block Erupter USB's are you plugging into each hub?
I have 7 port hubs which have 5 powered ports with 5Volt 2Amp power supplies. I plug in 4 Erupters per hub which draws the max of 2 Amps. Which isn't really a good idea to max them out like that but it's working OK for me so far.

Upgrade cgminer to 3.3.4 The older version wouldn't resize the screen for the slower hotplugging devices.

I've gleamed a lot of knowledge from here - thank you to all who have shared some insight. I have a small question though - I have a total of 13 ASIC block eruptors I'm using with CGMiner v3.3.1. The statistics portion shows an average of ~4.0 GH/s which seems to be correct when doing the math. My question is that the command prompt window is showing only six AMU units (0 - 5).
It's only been configured this way for a few hours - the statistics in my pool haven't updated (as I recently added ten of them, I'm guessing I should see a significant change?). I'm using Slush's pool and the average stats are based off of the last 10 rounds. So my questions are:
1. Should I investigate why CGMiner isn't showing all ASIC units, and
2. Based on others' experience, when should I see an update visible in my average hashrate in my pool?
I apologize for the noobish questions. Thank you all so much for your input!
