Seriously, this virus is already causing more damage than we thought and it's time for governments to take tough measures to make people comply, I'm not talking about measures like lockdow, I'm talking about forcing people to vaccinate and wear masks everywhere, only in this way will we be able to end this high number of contagion, we need to make the world go back to normal and unfortunately there are people who are not helping because they don't want to vaccinate and don't want to wear a mask

I don't think about fighting new virus variants by using vaccines. I am currently thinking of letting my body's immunity naturally fight the new variants of the coronavirus.

Certainly a logical approach considering there is no data on whether boosters would be effective against this new variant. And if this new variant is anything like Omicron, then we know it will cause a mild illness, if any illness at all, in the vast majority of people, vaccinated/previously immune or not. I would not fall for these sort of headlines. SARS-Cov-2 is endemic, and variants will originate and spread in perpetuity. At some point, it's pertinent to just get over it instead of pumping yourself full of vaccines every quarter because of the miniscule chance you end up in the hospital with a severe illness. These variants decrease in virulence over time, so even without being presented with any data, I'd be confident in saying it's unlikely this "Son of Omicron" is any more deadly than what we've seen before.

Cycle of fear and hysteria starts over again...

Actually, I have a soft corner that works for the Covid vaccine.

The reason may be, Life became unbearable because of the long lockdown, that soon after the invention of the vaccine we were released from the long lockdown and returned to normal life.

But this is also a serious matter, How long will we carry the vaccine like this?

One new wave after another is coming of covid. Vaccines are also being developed for these. In this way, if so many vaccines are taken, people will die not because of corona but because of various physical ailments. Now we badly need a permanent solution.

Hopefully, they don't make any hype about this new variant evolved from Omicron because the other government will take it to their advantage to gain more money by implementing some restrictions that involve penalties with money. Just like here in our city when you are caught up with no mask or you don't have any vaccination card, you need to pay them for about 5 to 10 bucks each person and we are one of the major cities in our country, which have millions of people living here. Imagine if they just caught, 1000-5000 people each week, how much money they could get from it? that's why we still cannot see the light out from this cave because there are benefits when something like this would happened.

Anew variant called "Son of Omicron"

when I first heard the name of a new variant called 'son of omicron' I immediately remembered about the new meme coin that appeared, but whatever it's called we must keep our health and hopefully it doesn't become a pandemic and trigger the next lockdown

Are you talking about "Son of Elon" shitcoin? There is a resemblance indeed. This pandemic is like a shit-virus factory and they are coming up with a new shit-virus every week. In a few weeks, nobody will care about "Son of Omicron" so what will be the next one? Cum-Rocket-Omicron? Somebody should create an exchange so we can long-short these shit-viruses.

maybe that's one of them, but I still see a lot in CMC, when we search for the name "son of" the name of the coin will definitely appear. maybe later there will be a new variant name "meta covid omicron" just like that shitcoin

That's what they said when Delta first came out, that it's more contagious, more deadly, etc. Anyway, I haven't seen any news of this variant even the msm sites so I'm assuming this is just someone trying to fearmonger. Wouldn't be surprised to see a new variant in a matter of months though. With all the (sometimes unidentified) infections going around, there's more chance for mutation. Like, during the times that they report there's a spike in cases, me and my family and neighbors also came down with what we just chucked as "colds".

The variant of Omicron is spreading day by day. But to be honest I haven't heard of Son of Omicron.  Cheesy
There have been so many waves of the coronavirus in the last two years, and so many lockdowns have been issued that no one is bothered to find out which wave came or how many people were infected.
One wave after another will come, new vaccines will be discovered. thus seeing waves and  taking the vaccines my life will end one day, where is the end?

Thank God for such an insight. Comply with the prevention protocols and keep your surroundings clean. Observe yourself always and practice some hot therapy inhalation from time to time. I assure that covid-19 itself will avoid you  and will never come to your dwelling place without you going for omicron and Pfizer vaccines .

To be honest, I was already on 2 doses of vaccine a few months ago and didn't think about getting a booster vaccine which is recommended by the government.

The data are very clear that vaccine protection wanes over time. I've presented charts demonstrating this previously. Your best action is to take the booster.

"Booster shots with messenger RNA vaccines such as those made by Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE failed to block Omicron in a study of some of the first documented breakthrough cases caused by the highly contagious variant." https://fortune.com/2022/01/19/covid-19-boosters-block-immunity-omicron-study-finds/

It seems that booster vaccines are not very effective in preventing new variants, especially this Omicron variant. So that booster vaccine injection is not the best option for now.

a new variant called "Son of Omicron" which is more contagious and silent than the previous variant (omicron).

That's a moronic sensationalist name, typical of the Daily Mail to put it in a headline.
It may be very contagious, but early data suggest it is no more severe than Omicron, which is known to be milder (on average) than previous widespread variants.

will this be a variant of covid that will kill more people?

Doubtful if most people are already vaccinated or have already contracted Omicron.

Will there be more variants of the coronavirus in the future?

Yes. The more of a virus is in circulation, the more variants arise through random mutation and natural selection.

I'm not familiar with foreign news websites, however, I'm yet to read anything related to a new variant, from European websites, which could potentially mean that it's a clickbait attempt, rumors or someone is making things up. On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if a new variant pops up somewhere in March, since the virus continuously mutates.

I've now stumbled upon this news website, shutting down rumors about this "new" variant.

I think Omicron is dangerous as compared to first one. So, i suggest everyone to be vaccinated and take preventive measures such as Social distancing, wash hands etc.

I think that we don't need to do things like that anymore because most people nowadays have been vaccinated and our immune system is also used to this coronavirus. But yes, sometimes I wear a mask just in case, for example in places where people are crowded, because I think we also need to wear masks occasionally, especially in places where people are crowded.

Last December, the world was worried about the spread of Omicron in several countries such as America, England, and so on. This new variant of the coronavirus is spreading so fast - from 357,000 cases sequenced in the last 30 days, nearly 59% were omicron.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/variants/omicron-variant.html

And recently there is a new variant called "Son of Omicron" which is more contagious and silent than the previous variant (omicron).

Glad to see that you have woken up to the big pharma money grab and that your body isn't sponsored by Pfizer, Moderna, or J&J. The new variant is just like the others mostly hype. The biggest problem is the food we eat. Most of it is devoid of the nutrients needed to fight this so you have to supplement to gain better immunities. I wish more people could think like you and we can't just leave each other alone to live our lives again. No more masks (unless you choose to wear one) and no more vaccines mandated (unless you choose to take it) all of these things should be optional in a truly open and free society.

Yes, you are right about that. Everyone should have the choice not to wear a mask, not to get vaccinated, or anything else that is forced on them. Those things should be optional, and must be of their will.
