Wow. From 450 and increased up to 85,000 users? I guess bitcoin is their only hero there because their economy is failing. Theres no use holding fiat due to devaluation. Bitcoin can really help them getting out of this mess. Good thing, theres a lot of place there that accepting bitcoin. Here in my country, only few places like shops or companies accepting bitcoin. And due to continous jncreasing of price in the market. The government make a statement that they will make some changes to regulate bitcoin in their own way.
That's just the increase of users from one Venezuelan exchange, the total number of users is much more, since they could also be using other exchanges and LocalBitcoins.
Just pasting that part of the article to avoid further confusion.

Since August 2014, Venezuelan bitcoin exchange Surbitcoin has also seen a surge in cryptocurrency users from 450 to over 85,000. It is a clear indication that Bitcoin is being increasingly favored over the free-falling Bolivar.

Thats good for them. 450 bitcoin users to 85,000. Thats really impressive growth of bitcoin users there. Seems like they dont wanna miss the train. Its a game changer for them since fiat there is failing. Bitcoin i can say is their only chance to make them financialy stable. I mean look whats happen to their fiat?

That's a really good move for them, and it's a great boost for Bitcoin as well. Awareness and all.

Though I feel sorry for the Venezuelan's that their economy has fallen to the point that their Fiat is not even accepted by some companies anymore.
Bitcoin can really help them at times like these but I worry for those still unaware and for those that doesn't even have access to the internet or a computer.

For those interested in helping as well, please take a look at theymos's thread:

If that is actually 85,000 people that will buy Bitcoin, its very impressive.
The main problem is that Bitcoin is still not accessible to many people in these countries.
The average person is not going to have a computer, access to the internet, and a way to convert fiat to Bitcoin.
For now it will remain the privileged who will have access to Bitcoin. But its a good start, at least.

Destinia is not a Venezuelan agency (I believe it's Spanish company), so they've only limited their bookings from Venezuelan customers to bitcoin. So it's not a case of them going full Bitcoin etc.

Also, Destinia have been accepting BTC for a few years now.
I think the bigger news is that the company is simply ignoring anything beyond Bitcoin and is only accepting Bitcoin. A ton of companies accept Bitcoin for one reason or another, but when one says that it is only accepting Bitcoin for something it's actually pretty big news. Not a lot of companies would cut off revenue streams and opt for a single one.

Yes, they are using the current situation as an opportunity for launching a PR campaign. Given the restrictive economic environment in Venezuela and the hyperinflation of its national currency, operating on Bitcoin within Venezuela is actually one of few options left to successfully run a business.

The rise of Venezuelan Bitcoin users is impressive, but it's hardly surprising because of the same reasons. For some Venezuelans, Bitcoin has effectively become the method of choice to buy badly needed food and medicine.

The economic situation in Venezuela is ever more complicated,” the company explains. “Given the increasing restrictions faced by Venezuelans, Destinia has decided to operate exclusively in Bitcoins in order to further facilitate reservations by local travelers.

Venezuelans not only have problems leaving the country but also problems paying [to leave the country] by credit card because they can only do it in local currency. Prioritizing ‘bitcoin’ as a payment currency can be an aid
