Since gate.io left and the operation was complete, but at bybit, it never arrived...
Thank you and all your help and welcome.
No unfortunately.
It's your fault at the end of the day. Not theirs so I doubt that you will get those USDT again.

On the other hand, there's somebody that shared the link here where it can help you. You might as well try it, but don't expect too much and take this mistake of yours as a lesson to double or even triple-check the address. Smiley I just hope that you only lost a small amount of money.

Hello class,
I would like to ask a question, whether it is still possible to recover the damage done.
I tried to take my USDT from Gate.io via the TON network, sending them to BYBIT, via the same network, but at the time of the transfer I typed the word Memo wrong.
Is it possible to recover it or was it lost?

If you have entered the wrong memo then it will be impossible for the Ton network to credit USDT. This is the reason they as in the exchange will always add a disclaimer ad highlight the importance of writing the correct memo number. I don't think anything can be done now and I am sorry for the loss.

Hope this serves as a lesson for you to double, triple-check even before you actually send it. People also have suggested to do a test send just to check if it’s the correct address.

Well anyway I’m quite not sure where jurisdiction this does land on: at gate.io or bybit? But for good measure just try contacting both at Bybit Help Center and Gate.io Support

Ask for help from gate.io. That's really your best bet imo. Highly doubt Bybit could help you here since the funds probably were not sent to them in the first place. Give it a week or two and if they don't answer or respond negatively, I don't think there's any hope for it. Probably prepare some proofs as well as the transaction details beforehand so the talk with customer support can go smoothly. Had this problem once before (not with Gate.io, another exchange) and support was able to refund me my coins back after a couple of days (with a fee, ofc).

Have you tried asking for help from their customer service?

If you forgot to include it or entered a wrong one, or entered it with extra spaces that makes your tag or memo a wrong one, your deposit will not be credited automatically.

You may submit a help ticket. One of our customer support will help you with it.

This is exactly from their customer support so do ask help since gate.io is a centralized exchange however do not get your hopes up too much. There’s no guarantee that you’ll get your money back. Good luck, tho!

I'm not sure how to say this but a memo is designated for each user to have their crypto sent to the actual address of the holder. But there's no harm in trying as bitmaxz said of trying to contact the support of bybit. Since it is their address, there can be some things that they can do with that on their own. I've seen problems about being sent through exchanges with the wrong network but correct and then able to recover. So, that might still give you some hope although this case is quite different from those that I have read.

Pretty bad almost all exchanges always warn users to always double-check memo tags before sending without it you will never receive it in your wallet plus you don't have full control of your Bybit wallet.

If you want to recover it only Bybit support can able to help you with this case since they received it without a memo tag but most of exchanges always ignore this case and never credited if you send crypto to the wrong or missing memo tags.

Anyway, I tried to check if bybit can able to help you and I found one article posted by Bybit that I think will help you recover your funds check this link below.

This is a different link from the post above but this one is a self-service

I'm sorry to hear this. A memo tag is always mandatory for some cryptocurrencies, especially on the Ton network, to ensure it reaches the correct customer account. From what I’ve read, there is no 100% guarantee of recovering your funds even after contacting their support to submit an appeal to recover your crypto deposit. Of course, there are requirements to be met, and you need to fill out one of the forms and pay a fee for this service, which can be up to five times the standard withdrawal fee for this coin. Please refer to this [Article] published by Bybit and follow their guidelines and instructions. Hopefully, they will assist you in recovering your lost deposit in the end.
