I am very excited about those numbers, and the fact that they are already accepting crypto payments there Smiley

https://www.ccn.com/47-of-south-africans-plan-to-invest-in-cryptocurrencies/

It was a very good news that they are already accepting cryptpcurrency payment method and if every country will just legalize crypto then it will be easier for the people to live.

Very cool. some restaurants and businesses in Africa have already accepted cryptocurrency for payment. This proves that crypto is growing there. Someday, the whole country on the African continent will follow a step like South Africa.
To succeed, go to places that do not have it to grow. Indeed, South Africa has made great strides in the financial and economic markets. Some places in South Africa have accepted electronic payments, which is a great honor for their country. There have been first successes in electronic money transactions in life, also through which also expect other countries to make such improvements.

I've read that many people write in there and I had the following thoughts.
The fact that African countries approve of the cryptocurrency means a lot of potential for those who are now in this field and is engaged. 47% of the population is this year soon. Word of mouth, will make this number gleamed to 100% African countries are very rich in resources and most importantly, there is a very huge population, If in this continent will implement ICO startups, it will make a huge resonance in the development of these countries. The potential is huge.

While researching where to buy bitcoin and altcoins in South Africa, it really seems more of an "underground thing" still in the country as far as exchanges and using bitcoin as currency.

Hopefully bitcoin gains more traction but it is not really ready for digital money as much as many people seem to hope.

I just remembered the ICO intent to bring South Africa to a better future.
MOYA NETWORKS have a successful ICO that will help Africans especially at the south.
But after sending all tokens to investors and bounty participants they just run and left the project.

In my experience you can't give away bitcoin in Southern Africa.  Roll Eyes

I'm giving some away now but nobody seems to want it.  Huh

South Africa is referred to a large number of states. Maybe someone of it is richer and more developed, so can be interesting and accept payment in bitcoin; but in the poorest and destitute states i think that value were in more material resources, like water, food and medicine.

And there comes the involvement of another country into the bitcoin . Now I think with the each passing day people have started understanding the potential of bitcoin and the best part is the countries who were completely against of bitcoin and now legalising it in their nation. The only disadvantage that bitcoin have is that it is not centralised, but when legalised governments started keeping eye over every bitcoin transactions and thus no one can make illegal use of bitcoin and that’s the thing we all wants.

A sizable figure of nearly half the population of south africa will invest in Cryptocurrency, they know that Cryptocurrency investment will be very profitable for future assets

But we are not sure if that figure is correct. We all know how vast that continent is and besides all the nations around there has a lot of priorities so I don't know if people will just invest on crypto first or put their money wherein they can easily see the income right away unlike in crypto wherein you have to wait for several months of holding before you realised your gains. People there need houses, foods and electricity and even drinking water. I doubt that they will immediately jump on the crypto bandwagon without prioritising their human needs first.

About article, if those information becomes true then the crypto market will pump for a while. And day by day many countries can follow the steps of South africa.

There's a big potential for every country and the population on South Africa is big so if majority of the people there are into crypto's, we'll see a great demand after their announcement.
South Africa has huge potential for Bitcoin. But South Africa is not a developed state. But many people of the country are very interested in investing in bitcoin. It would be great for the Bitcoin Community.
That's why they'll start to get into crypto to make development for their state.

Actually all countries have potential in Bitcoin, but if the country retreats, its potential will be blurred.

If people from that country have access to an Internet connection and someone there can teach them how to use Bitcoin for a living.

If all countries in Africa adopt Crypto, it will improve the country's economic situation, the potential of the country should be brought out, it needs to be shown to them to grow more.

Now I see why some platforms and new ICO's are targeting South Africa, it is because of the popularity from the citizen and acceptance from their government. if somehow they manage to increase the economic growth by using Bitcoin technology and spread news on the neighboring countries then slowly but surely the adoption will be guarantee.

they've just planning by the way, it is too late to invest in crypto but better be late than nothing with 47% of population is such a good amount of people to gather and join the crypto this could trigger on what coin their planning to invest with and this will give a signal to that coin good luck to this country.

This is figure isn't too far-fetched IF you put it into context.

One needs to consider how the survey was done. I'm South African and basically, this would apply to the middle income to higher income groups. The survey was done by Mybroadband, so it was an online survey. Over and above just being an online survey, the Mybroadband audience is fairly tech savy so it makes sense that 50% of them would be keen on investing in Crypto.

This by no means is an indication of the South African population as a whole, I would say its a fair enough indication of the middle to upper-income groups only.

Africa has a huge potential of what? If someone makes such a headline, I would like to see an explanation with your own words and not just one sentence and a link. The link indicates you speak about a huge potential in relation to crypto currencies? I know Africa as a third world continent and highly doubt it has a huge potential in relation to crypto currencies. However, feel free to convince me otherwise?

Highly doubt this number is even close to true, you have to think of where this data is coming from. Of course, from a pro crypto website, they're going to try to promote clickbaity headlines, like this one, in order to get people to go to the site itself. Yeah, maybe some people will go ahead and invest in crypto (like in all countries during runups in crypto)

But there is no way that 1 in 2 people are going to get in on it. That's insane to think about. The data is obviously BS.

Almost all data that you come across will be to some extent inaccurate. Data also depends on the amount of people they actually took the data off. Obviously the more the better and closer percentage you get.

50% isn't to unrealistic if you think about it and if it's conducted in a city where there's more wealthy people then your likely to have more investors.

They are most welcome. But because of sophisticated economy, it would be better if they invest slowly. Even if they have not sufficient market experience, they should work on it. If they lose their first impression, it would be worst for the whole industry.

I am very excited about those numbers, and the fact that they are already accepting crypto payments there Smiley

https://www.ccn.com/47-of-south-africans-plan-to-invest-in-cryptocurrencies/

47% is a whole lot of figure to consider which would make a difference but unfortunately, the article did not state the total number of the tested population which is something that is key here before anyone can begin to rejoice. The total population of South Africa is 57,398,421 which is 0.75% of the world population which means if the whole of the population should choose to invest in crypto, it still does not change anything as the effect would't be felt and we all know there is no way the whole of the population could have completed that survey.

In addition, surveys cannot be totally relied upon because of several factors such as the category of people being asked, the type of questions whether its leading question or not, there is also the issue of incentive that might be involved which would influence the decision of the respondents. But in all, the fact that they plan to, does not mean they would be willing to if they have the opportunity as the action is what really makes the difference.

As what I have thinking before that Bitcoin is for all, it depends upon the government how they adopt and accept of Bitcoin to the government become benefited taxes generated from bitcoin. The problem of those who are not accepting for legalization of Bitcoin is only for the people who have thier self interest not to become progressive economic growth of government. I'm very happy for that good news to the people of South Africa are aware and some of them are accepting payment from bitcoin.

I've spoken to a few South Africans before about Bitcoins, and it seems that the general consensus is that they can earn more than minimum wage in Bitcoin just, because they aren't suppressed by their local pay brackets. This seems to be a common thing too that poorer areas are much more likely to be involved in Bitcoin, because they see it as a way to bypass traditional limits.

From the survey, it is clear South Africans are already embracing digital currencies though sometimes these survey might not be the true reflection of how things are there. South Africa has a huge potential ; it is true statement but I would like to add that not only South Africa but entire Africa has huge potential.  At present most of the people are using Bank currency and slowly are being diverted towards the usage of digital currency.  As more and more people will use digital currency; they they will know about crypto and will definitely start using crypto too because of the benefits of using crypto.
Also I would like to add that Asia, Latin America also have much potential.
