Where did you hear about that ? have a link ?
And i don't know where it came from.. i think the space weather site implied the Sun.
most come from there.. well all of them, that is what CME means.
there is only one corona around here ..next one over is Alpha Centauri a triple star system
and with our current technology i heard it would take 50 or 60,000 years to fly over to it.
So a CME is only really possible from our own sun.. although other things do reach us.

We thought in the 50's or 60's way back that Russia had denoted nuclear weapons in space.
Instruments Nasa had around our solar system showed the radiation burst was coming from all directions all over.
Later we found out it was a Gamma Ray burst from a near by Magnatar
Many guy speculate those are infant / baby Pulsar's
And that a Pulsar grows up and settles down.

I have studied a lot of science stuff on this crap..it's amusing.

If you threw a ball at the speed of light it would wrap around the planet and hit you in the back of the had 7 times in 1 second.
You have to ignore that physics would prob shoot the ball off the planet though in reality Wink
I was trying to just point out how fast that is..
And scary is we have figured that parts of the universe either now or will be moving faster than that.
The only thing we think can move faster than light is the fabric of the universe.
Expansion is doubling.. going faster and faster.
And we are in our Galaxy moving at colossal speeds.. bobbing above and below the bands of the Galaxy arms.
We are located in what is called "The Local Fluff" close to Scutem Crux

According to NASA , after 15th of November, there will be full dark days till 15 days almost. I am waiting for the same time. Anyways, can you guess from where did this CME geomagnetic storm come ? It may be from some deep space, thanks to earth's geomagnetic field.

CME SPARKS GEOMAGNETIC STORM: Arriving almost a full day earlier than expected, a CME struck Earth's magnetic field on Nov. 6th at 18:00 UT. At first, the impact had little effect. As Earth moved deeper into the CME's wake, however, a G2-class geomagnetic storm broke out. Nikolay Alfertiev photographed the auroras over Russia's Kola peninsula:
