I also posted in that thread and many users aren't even following the thread and just posting random numbers like "1" "1000" which is so silly. I don't get paid for that section but I think that the OP has started a weird game of guessing numbers. He could have had a smaller range instead of 1 and 1000000 as it has already gained 8 pages in 4 days. I tried to search for the latest range and had to search 4-5 pages due to the spamming.

The number is already guessed by someone.
If he/she posts his/her btc addy then I will give the price.

Wonder if a secondstrade user will post a random number after the end of this contest  Roll Eyes or maybe the ban list will prevent them from spamming btctalk for a while? (#yobit turn now #100 users in the list)
Will lock this topic.
Regards.

^ PM it to no one. Encrypt it first, and then post that in the thread. That way you don't need to trust that person won't cheat. And no one needs to trust you won't cheat.

like the poster below says, you could still cheat this way.

Wait. Something is not right here. The operator could just create an account (worst, log into secondary account) and post the right number. To make it fair and transparent, the operator should not know the number.

but how can he says that is higher or lower if he does not knows?

The person running the game obviously has to know the number. They hash it, e.g. here[1] and post the hash in advance. Once the game is over the hashed value is revealed so everyone can know that the person running the game did not change the number on the way.

E.g. pick a number between 1 and 10.

The hash of the solution is: b0103bc15c6e839404165e567087ac03fffaa63eaf2fad7a72d73f6beb722e27

The solution is (spoiler!): The number is 10. I also add some more data to make sure you cant just brute force the 10 possible hashes.

^ you're right, but it's too late now. That is, unless he wants to start it all over, and no one in the thread complains about it. Not that the spammers would care anyway, but the rest of the posters.

I am the giveaway runner, and I agree with this, some people are just posting random numbers, don't even read a single line from the thread. Also I can't/won't report them cause it is a hell of a job to do.

Some people are posting random numbers in a random number guessing game? Shock horror! You created a stupid spammy giveaway thread and are now shocked when it gets stupidly spammed? All you're doing is giving Indonesian secondstrade spammers another place to quickly hit their targets on games and rounds.

I choose a number between 1 and 1000000. And then someone says i number and i say higher or lower.
The winner will get 0.004BTC minus transaction fee.

I mean seriously 1 and 1000000? Don't be ridiculous. And only you know the number and no way to check you aren't going to change it or give it to one of your alts? Thread should be trashed or at least locked because it's only purpose is to be spammed in.

Not all people that wear a signature are spammers. I wanted to make an original giveaway and not a random one, so everyone has the same chanches of winning. If u think I will claim it with my alts, that is wrong.
It was not my intention to make a spam thread, however most people who posted didn't spam though, mostly the lower rank accounts.
So in this topic https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/gambling-giveaway-free-to-enter-1237911 where we are supposed to guess a number and OP answer with higher or lower, you find as always too many spammers (with sig or newbies increasing their posts count)

In the post number 13: the OP said that the number is between 800.000—850.000
Post number 20 (junior ; no sig) out of this range

Post number 22 i rewrote the number range so everyone could see it
Posts from 25, 26, 27, 29, 30, 46 (with sig) : spamming numbers out of the range
33, 34, 37, 39, 40, 42 (no sig) out of the range

Now from the post 47+48 we have a new range 809.000—850.000
post number 51(no sig) out of range

From post 56+58 the number is between 809.000—837259
No sig: post number 64, 67 out of range
With sig : post number 70, 73, 77 out of range

New range 809.000—834560 from the post 84
No sig: 85, 97, 101, 102 out of range

Conclusion:
Until now from 102 posts we have 23 spammers.
I like topics like that and please I don't want to read a comment suggesting to prohibit it.
Why i didn't reported them directly?  Answer: for real? Writing 23 reports?
Maybe they didn't see the new range? Well barely on every page you find a reminder from a member including me but they simply don't care, you can find a reminder and just 3-4 posts under it a spammer posting trash...
(personally, I made a mistake and wrote a number posted before and the same goes for many which I didn't include in this topic)
Okay, tell me to who I should PM the number.

@hilariousandco
The interval started from 1 to 1.000.000 but with every number posted it got smaller
Users have to make a valid random number in the new interval each time

Here is another example: in the post number 100 in the 5th page the OP said that the number started with 834... Same post quoted in the post number 101 in the page 6... And what we have just in the post number 102 a spammer posting a number started with 812... Later in the post 106 a sec trades guy choosing number 13!!!... Later post 116 no sense... All thoses posts made in the page number 6 in which you have a clear quote from the OP (mentioned above) .

Well i consider such topic more entertaining than ''gambling is it wrong?'' ''gambling for a living or a living for gambling'', ''can gambling be profitable in long term?'' and similar sig spammer paradise topics (especially for compagns promoting ads in the gambling section)

Anyway, maybe it is harder to make an action against the previous users especially that they are posting in topic but for the users posting in this free giveaway... No... things are obvious...they are spamming to increase their posts or to make few bucks profit...

But for the last point you mentioned, i agree that it would be better that another trusted member should know the correct answer (or maybe writing a signed message or any other valid possibility)
Thx for your response. (i will let this topic open for the moment in case you want to answer, if not please pm me to lock it to avoid spam)

Isnt it easier to write "this user clearly did not follow the thread and is just posting to bump their post count" once and copypasta it 23 times than creating this thread?
Well tho writing the same thing 23 times could cause problems for me more than the real spammers  Undecided (spamming the report message especially if the mod is busy enough and didn't check the entire thread, no need to mention the accuracy rate too).
Anyway i will wait for a response from a mod before locking this topic  Smiley

Or better yet you could put it all in in a single report and ask the mod to check out the posts in in and then state that some of those are spammers. It's not really an Issue if mods have tons of reports receive, they do get a lot and they are working on it so I don't think it will be any issue if you report all that 23 sig. spammers that you are referring. I personally think this kind of reports here in meta are overated and thus the report button will never do what it's real work is if people keep doing this.
