If anything seems to good to be true, then it is.
Scam attempts are nothing new here but they're so blatant that they're easily spotted.

Looks like everything down or going down and been removed must hit target and succeeded in scam or moving on to another scam and new account with different BS to draw people in to paying out for boxes with nothing in them. Buying stuff like this you get what you ask for.

I'm trying to wrap my head around this whole "reputation" thing when LinkedIn shows the companies (Web Media House & WebBuddiesNet - A Division of WMH) with 0 actual employees (you do not count) and in multiple places on WebBuddies.Net you reference statements like: "Here are a few companies some of our buddies have worked for", and "We have a unique blend of talent that allows us to offer such a diverse range of services."  Get your "buddies"/employees hooked up to your LinkedIn company page if you want to be viewed as reputable on that front.

I have to wholly agree with the seasoned posters as this is very fishy and I'm shocked that your webbuddies.net website is one single page.  This is besides the fact that since the start of this thread you have downed a couple social media pages which were representing your company and have neglected to use escrow.  There are a lot of things wrong with this OP.

What was the listing even offering?

It was offering 250 mystery boxes @ $99 each for sale with gadget / electronic contents worth $500.

It seems that the website itself is now down for maintenance: https://www.webmediahouse.net/

And the page with details of the promotion is down also: https://www.webmediahouse.net/special-offer/mystery-box/

EDIT: It also looks like the associated Facebook, Twitter and Google +1 pages have also been removed.

Thanks for explaining.
This doesn't seem fishy at all.  Grin

Ha ha I know its weird how a few hours after making the original post offering the boxes for sale it then changed to they're all sold and now the website and everything has gone?

"Scheduled infinite maintenance " He tried to Scam, and failed.

Yes it certainly seems that way now but it looked like a legit operation when I had a nose around. Strange how it was shut down so quickly.

Soooo, you are a newbie with a extremely bad reason to not use escrow and a worthless guarantee if you end up scamming. Good luck with your sales. Roll Eyes

Hi Mitchell,

soooo, you're a stuff member with an extremely bad way to welcome a newbie. We have the best reputations on Google+ and LinkedIn. The way we do business will not change because of your amusing comments. A reputation on your forum isn't a must to do business.

Have an awesome day!

Best regards,

David

This is not a hotel. It is not the staffs' job to make you feel welcome, and in a lot of cases people will not be welcome (e.g. if they break the rules).

It is fairly clear that you are a scammer as you are refusing to use escrow which is designed to protect both the buyer and the seller from getting scammed.

If you are worried that the buyer is going to claim the non-receipt of the product then you should insure the package you send to the buyer in the amount of the value of the product so the buyer can file a claim with the shipping company when they claim that the goods are lost/stolen/damaged/ect.

Reputation in this forum is MUST if you intend doing business here, no one will buy anything from you here unless you use Escrow or send first. Deal with it, the Google+ and Linkedin "reputation" is worthless.

Will you accept escrow considering how you're a new member here with no trading history/repuation and this being your first post?

Hello Master-P,

thank you for your interest in our offer.

Escrow services allow buyers another level of anonymity and would prevent us from dealing directly with them. Also, an escrow service owes no obligation to the seller until the buyer has inspected the goods, and even that obligation is dependent on the buyer’s consent. Therefore we do not accept your suggested way of payment method. However, we offer a 60-day 100% refund guarantee and free international delivery/return shipping.

Refund policy or "guarantee" does not offer the same level of protection as escrow for the buyer in case anything goes wrong (eg. you don't deliver).

If you're here to accept bitcoin then you should be ready to accept third party escrows to help protect both sides of the transaction as well.

What I also don't get is how you're able to sell over 250 of these "mystery boxes" that contain $500 retail value of goods for only $99.

The deal just seems too good to be true. Can you perhaps show us some photographic proof of these mystery boxes, perhaps a few examples of what these boxes could contain? Your offering is very vague and it only goes to make you seem even sketchier than you already are.

A quick google search of your alleged company/business "Web Media House" doesn't reveal much. Perhaps you should point us to the right direction of your "reputation" rather than just telling us to "go google it".

He can also send first to a reputable member of the community... instead of making up shitty excuses for not using escrow.
