If there isn't a child board does anyone recommend a slack chat or forum that focuses on investing/day trading or ways to make money in crypto? Any resources are greatly valued

What the kind of crypto? You may see a lot of that in trading discussion or if it's mean the alternative crypto and you can move on the alt section. You can put the specific details for that. I may think if the trading discussion was being the correct place for you but if you are looking for the slack group or other and you can find them with your effort because the Social group was outside from this .

We have the "Marketplace" child board with multiple sections that are investment related. Then there is the "Trading Discussion", where mostly day traders hang out and discuss their newest ideas.
If I where you, I would avoid investing in any "investment opportunities" presented to you in these sections. The probability to be scammed is very high. I would abstain from trading Bitcoin as well - unless you are already an expert day trader with a long history of reliable success. Most day traders here are amateurs, who think they are smart - but aren't.
For doing normal business, i.e. buying/selling items and services the marketplace offers good opportunities. So if you have some skills or stuff you want to sell, go ahead. Since Bitcoin is money, things work the same as in the "real world" outside.
The only difference is that users here are more afraid of getting scammed - for good reason. So building trust is a must. There are respected members, who offer escrow services. It's good advice to use them.
