Whether sports industry or DeFi or gambling industry, those industries are good for crypto adoption. So on my end, I don't care if sports is the leading or DeFi is leading in the current market, as long as they help in crypto adoption, it will be good in crypto community in general. In the current situation, I can say that you are right. You know, sports helps the crypto community grow (contributed sportsbetting) but on the other hand crypto are not helping the sports industry significantly. Well, that's understandable anyways since cryptocurrency are not yet well adopted. It definitely needs more exposure. Nonetheless I do believe that crypto can still open outstanding possibilities. Hmm maybe in the future team companies will use crypto in closing a contract with the players they recruit as their payment option, they may also use it for paying violations or use for financing the needs of their players. Actually I don't know what is this project about but sports is something irrelevant to the crypto space, if this project is about making financial benefits to the sports club it doesn't mean they are taking the whole sport industry, already lot of brands spending for the sports just to show their brand name to this world.

Yes, I heard about the project they got pretty great partnerships with the top sports clubs around the globe like FC Barcelona, Juventus but, sadly all the fan token offering on their platform ends really quickly.
It finishes in less than 5 minutes my first participation was in Barcelona token offering and i was able to buy just few amount of their tokens because it was limited per user you cant buy more than a certain amount so it can go round.

Not just Chilliz but there are a lot of projects unrelated to sports or gaming industry has joined the league. If you know Binance they are also introduced a platform called bplay that has direct affiliate of Binance for this category. Even the supply chain of tokoin also have a platform for gaming. I think Chilliz made a good decision expanding their wings to sports bets industry. With the time of covid we all knew there are locked down all over the country and this is one of the best entertainment for people staying at home. Not an investors of Chilliz but this coin is a hidden gem for me.

So many crypto projects in category of sports betting and other sports related projects have failed, but there is still hope. I've been trading CHZ, and considering to hold some for long term.

Every business and revenue side of each sports will also turn to crypto sooner or later. There have been people working to tokenize the shares of various football clubs and other high revenue generating sports, the process has been slow but i am sure in coming years we are going to see most things tokenized including all the big football clubs.

Brother, it is other way around, blockchain technology and crypto is taking over all the industries and sectors among which sports is also one of them. Slowly but surely crypto will be adopted everywhere and we will see it in our everyday life more and more. 
Anyone here heard about Chilliz and the partnerships they have been signing recently. I beleive the sport industry is going to take over the crypto space sooner or later because i see a great movement in what they are building. They have signed partnership with so many big Footbal clubs and i am so excited with what they are building.
Yep, heard about them because they sort of sponsored something for Juventus and other big clubs even Barcelona I believe but it does not seem to be a big sponsorship because I hardly or never saw their brand name during any matches.
Sports is definitely big we all saw how the gambling and crypto industry took a hit when sports was paused!
I didn't even believe with it and i must tell you about the token start and it's a failed project too. The implementation is not so easy as you said dude. Crypto needs to be mainstream before it can be used in cport industry .

If you really want to go into this then I'm ready to share how I feel about crypto sport projects, aside from sport gambling platforms on the blockchain technology crypto sport projects are utterly failure, they end up going down, too low interest on them, you can only see two to three successful ones, majority end up dead
