That is a beauty. Those guns have a cult following at club where I shoot~

Thank you.  I'm a bit torn about parting with it, but I have issues with "safe queens."

M14 type rifles tend to be popular in California and other states with "assault rifle" restrictions.  In their standard configurations M14s don't have the evil features that restrict other semi-autos in those states.

My gun budget is way over sanity right now or I would consider it.   Cheesy

Very pretty rifle. These are getting increasingly hard to find.

Thank you.  Yeah they're not quite as flashy and modern as AR-15s so they're not manufactured in anywhere near the quantities.  There are only a handful of manufactures still making new components and whole rifles.  The modern SAI rifles have a bunch of parts manufactured in Taiwan, so they're not the American Dream that the older ones were.

For those of you who've never handled or shot an M14 type rifle, they are absolutely awesome.  One of the most accurate semi-auto rifles ever made.  The design is based on the M1 Garand rifle which proved to be a game-changer during WWII, but with a few contemporary upgrades, like a stronger gas system and a detachable box magazine.  They are as durable as FAL rifles, as reliable as AK-47s, as accurate as AR-15s, and prettier than any of them could ever hope to be.

Can you tell it's my favorite rifle?  I have a small collection of them that I've built myself; all with US government surplus parts and hammer forged LRB receivers.  They are as authentic as is legally possible.   Grin

For your consideration: A Springfield Armory M1A National Match rifle, new in the original box, factory built with TRW USGI Parts.

The M1A is Based on the U.S. M14 7.62mm rifle, the last and most advanced of the US battle rifles.

The rifle is built with predominately TRW parts, most major components are U.S. Government Issue.  This one is in National Match configuration with a national match barrel, factory glass-bedded stock, and a unitized (staked) gas cylinder.  It also includes national match sights, a national match tuned trigger group, and a national match spring guide.  The bolt, operating rod, and trigger housing are TRW manufactured.  TRW is highly regarded as the most precise of all M14 manufacturers.

The rifle includes a ten-round magazine, the original box, and all documentation.  Originally the rifle was shipped with a 20-Round magazine, and a NM flash hider.  Some time in the '90s the rifle was configured for California compliance, so the flash hider has been replaced with a factory Springfield Armory muzzle break.  Neither the 20-Round magazine, nor the NM flash hider are included, but both can be sourced easily in many states.

I inherited this rifle from a close family friend. He purchased it new in the early nineties, and I've had it since December 2015. This rifle has never been shot since leaving the factory. I removed the action from the stock only to take these photos; this is the first time the rifle has been disassembled. The rifle's born-on date is 10/24/1989.

Price: $3900 USD
