No benefit. SSDs are just faster, and when setting up your rig initially, you do a ton of reboots. Having to sit through them can be a pain.

Many people just run linux off of USB drives, too. No HDD or SSD needed.
Those who knows the drill uses linux in order to lessen their expenses as we knew that most coins can be mined using cpu and gpu and theres only few coins which can be use for hd mining so theres no big deal upon choosing which one or much better learning how to work with linux.

will try out those direct run from usb. learning linux could be a challenge now.. lol...by the time i understand it, the mining opportunity could be over and no more profitability to enjoy rather a pure hobby... but still will learn.

Thx

I thank HDD is fine, mining isn't an I/O heavy job.

Like to ask is it a great advantage with SDD as OS drive?

If using HDD, apart from the higher watt used, any other know disadvantages?

Reason is I have many HDD so if not necessary then will save the $ to use the HDD instead.

Thanks
