Thanks. Actually I have an HDD and I am really not in mood to spend money on SSD unless its a huge difference. Can you please let me know on two things:

1) Power consumption difference in HDD and SSD

2) Effect of heat generated by HDD on overall mining process and how could it negatively affect the whole thing.

Regards,

Rizwan

SSD power consumption maximum is 6 watt, and a HDD about 30-40 watt so both don't consume a lot of energy but the SSD is clearly a better choice and their prices have been down dramatically for not well known brands but that do work normally like Dr.Revo

Not a big difference in heat too but the difference is huge from a SSD to a HDD when playing files, copying, watching movies, playing games etc. A SSD is at least 10 times faster than a conventional HDD, really worth the money in my opinion. For mining is better too but not a noticeable difference to be honest.

Not good for mining, if you want big storage buy HDD if you want fast storage buy SSD.
I had them only in laptop. They are not bad, but it has almost same speed as normal HDD, the cache is usually only 8GB so big part of that take Windows. For laptop it's great, but 2 Seagate I had were bad, after 1 year I've got lot of uncorrectable sectors and they start to be really slow. I've got different version and it still work. On my newer laptop they changed Seagate for Toshiba and it's much better, no problems and same speed.

I had one and it's like a HDD with a big cache. Recently accessed small files are fast to handle but that's about it.

The SSD part in mine had issues after maybe 2 years so the drive is useless, unless I disable caching.

Not worth the money imo. Unless you need a huge amount of storage (like for mining) I'd definitely go with SSD.
