If you're new and reading this, just stick to the top 25 or so coins. There really is no coin that is stable in price. The whole market has been volatile this year. But, if you stick to the top 25 or so coins on coinmarketcap, then at least you'll have established and stable projects.

The market is very fragile and very mutable this year..If you do not count Tether and TrueUSD, then the most stable coin is Binance Coin..Despite the volatility of the market, it has been stable since long time.

All token and coin things are not stable. It can range from 10-20% per day for bitcoin and ETH. Other altcoins can go up to 1000% or 1000% if there is any news related to them. In this market the most stable coin is USDT

Beware of the word "stable" in this market. I can quote two "stable" currencies today:
Tether
TrueUSD

But if they always will be like this, it is impossible to say.

Stablecoins are an essential part of the adoption of blockchain itself. I think that some of the processes and internal points can be tokenized. However, the author of the thread mentioned not only stable coins.

I think you need to learn more about stable coin, your listed coin are not stable coin, stable coin must have an underlying asset that makes their price stable, that's why it is called stable coins. Some example are Tether that  backed up by some traditional currency, and True USD, and swissrealcoin. etc.

I agree with you, doge coins are quite stable coins and from that I can also say that coins that have a large supply are coins that have high stability, but with that stability for me DOGE coin is not suitable to enter the list of day trading.

True enough stable coins are Tether and TrueUSD since the this coins are fluctuating only but very very little and it can't also develop. BNB for me can be considered as developed in which they have been a good service for all exchange coins/tokens to be in service of exchange.

Most of them on the list are not stable, except for BNB as well as most altcoins in the market are unstable. BNB is dominating for the past weeks/months because of its use however I am not a fan of BNB Smiley as well as USDT I believe this is a stable coin. In crypto, I believe that none of them are not stable I mean like stable for couple of months and years. Crypto is basically volatile in any way that's why whenever we invest into any coin/token let's ensure that we are vigilant with its usefulness and as well as the behavior of the market.

The market at this time no cryptos are considered stable coins. If you want to be safe and invest in the long term, then invest in BTC and ETH then hold long term. With altcoins, you should invest in ADA, XLM, EOS, XRP to make a profit in the short time.
that much confidence is risky. short term was a very ambitious comment. it's better if you say it in the future. you've listed future projects. those who invest will, of course, win. they're patient and holder. Wink

What exactly do you consider stable? ETP was at just $0.60 a couple weeks ago. It's been pretty downhill since last year just like everything else. Do you mean the project itself? It's actually been pretty rough with forks and having to issue new wallet releases all the time.

Sorry To say, this list is not perfect. Did you pick some coin only for promotion? I think some stable coins are

1. EOS
2. BNB
3. NEO
4. ADA
5. ARK

Though some coins price is very low now comparing previous prices but still they are safe, secure and stable coins.

Stablecoins are pegged to (and reflect the value of) an asset. None of those or the ones OP listed are stablecoins. Legitimate examples include DigixGold, Havven, TrueUSD, BitUSD, Tether, MakerDAI, and I'm sure plenty of others I am unaware of.

There are also stablecoins that are not pegged to an asset.

We know the US dollar is not backed by anything, yet it is still considered "stable" because of its wide acceptance.
However, its centralization and a lack of supply control are serious issues, that could ultimately make people lose confidence in it and result in devaluation.

Asset-backed stablecoins run into a similar problem. What if the asset that is backing the currency gets devalued? Is the supply of that asset mathmatically regulated? Can you trust the 3rd party custodians (middlemen) of the currency peg to accurately and honestly account for any asset devaluation? What if the 3rd party gets greedy and decides to implement fractional reserve lending behind the scenes? It really all boils down to trust.

With decentralized and non-asset backed stablecoins, there is no trust needed. For example, BitBay (BAY) will use a voting system to regulate the supply, and every user has their say in the currency's value.

In a system like this, the painpoint then shifts from trust to volume. The more volume the decentralized stablecoin has, the higher capability it has of being stable.

If any project can solve those 2 issues above, it will be far more stable and effective than any asset-backed (collateralized) stablecoin.

Here is a well-written article on this whole topic:

Nice, he got it completely wrong. Thanks for correcting him, so he wont mislead newcomers. There is also new token called nUSD which is a part of Havven project, that should be performing as a stable coin. I have only used tether, though.
Havven token is not so stable, you can see that even the stable coin of havven still get a lot of volatility. It can't be considered as a stable coin and all of the formula that has already implemented by the havven project is failed. This based on the fact that has already happened with the havven token price.
Havven not stable at all! This is for sure! and yes now on market I can see only 2 stable coins Tether
TrueUSD. This is really stable coin, not just by name. Anyway decred not bad at all. More better than other coin. BNB this is just exchange coin and now you can use it only on Binance. I don't think this is stable situation.

you still get price volatility if stablecoin supply is too low: see steem dollar that Korea bought up to $13 for no reason and it was falling back to its collateral value of $1 as expected lol. that chain actually does have 0 fees, but people can't generate their own stablecoin. EOS, however, would be able to do that, but without a universal order book & decided upon smart coin it might also get too diluted and get volatile.

the only actual stablecoins right now are on bitshares for past 4 years with very stable fees due to live network capacity in many thousands of tx per second, being the most used dex definitely helps their success especially in asia where bitCNY is popular. They still have the fee, but good enough for United Nation remittance project

***Note: It is a misconception that currencies have to be pegged or backed by an asset to be stable.

A big one is missing from this list: BitBay (BAY)
Its dynamic soft peg is a method of flexible and decentralized supply control... that limits volatility. Non-collateralized, so no having to trust in a 3rd party custodian.

It will be released before year's end 2018.

BitBay's will be truly decentralized.
No collateral or reserve token needed.
It's a soft peg so price can still fluctuate = Highest growth potential out of all the other stablecoins
Release date set for late Q3 to early Q4 of this year.

I’d like to feature that Tether has additionally run into issues with the SEC for being tied to the usa dollar and appearing as a protection (in their belief) that can very well be its downfall. Ironic that it’s intention is balance however this aspect round compliance has created greater inherent risk for its ability achievement.

Yes very nice info, but let us not forget the most stable of them all. Bitcoin, Ethereum and NEO.
We can't really judge coins but all we can say is to be on the safe side, let us use the terms "the most likely coins to be adapted for their cause".
I believe coins become stable when people actually use them in real life situation. So there are tendencies when a country is regulated, they accept this specific currency, most likely it will be Ethereum or Bitcoin but if it's not the two of them, this specific coin will be the most STABLE coin ever if that will happen.
