Is this the service that was in the news about figthing counterfeit products? I wonder how this can work and how copying persons cant simply copy such a mark on the product.

Is the actual proof, if the product is real, done by you? Maybe a video explaining everything would be a good idea.

Hi Sebastian - we are not that service, we just embed on the blockchain a hash of a file/email to certify that such file/email existed at a certain point in time. This can be used to prove in a later date that the file/email has not been modified in any way. Furthermore, we also embed on the blockchain the hash of the name/s of the author/s and we link it to the file/email to provide prove of ownership.

I can image many services built on top on our API, among them a decentralized system to reward creators (musicians, writers, etc.) for their work.

We're proud to announce Stampery.co, a new service based on the bitcoin blockchain that provides an accurate, trustless and decentralized (and thus verifiable by any third party, independently and forever):

  • proof of ownership
  • proof of existence
  • proof of integrity

We focus on a smooth and easy UX, and we target both bitcoin hard-core users and those who actually know nothing about bitcoin.

Any kind of data can be timestamped, including emails - a unique email address is generated for every user for them to forward emails they want to timestamp. No file can be timestamped two times, and timestamped files can be verified both independently and through our service.

We also offer encrypted cloud storage for those willing to have all their timestamped files/emails in one place, which also offers the possibility to easily share those files with anyone. There will soon be an option to opt-out from the cloud storage.

We are actually looking for beta testers: if you wish to be one just register an account on Stampery.co and drop us a message.

Questions? Just post them!
