I guess this is why they are into Bitcoins, as even if their currency itself crashes, they may get out with some huge profits from the world's capitalization that is being gained by growth in Bitcoin's price...

Agree bitcoin is way overhyped

Bitcoin may get a small pump in this situation but gold is what is really going to the moon

still people forget about the fact that bitcoin is worth 6B in market cap only, which is total no-sense for such a great technology

bitcoin real value should be at least on par with gold and surely not less than 1T

I don't think it will explode just yet. If this market keeps up for a few weeks maybe but I don't think it will cause much major changes (>25% swings)

bitcoin is definitely not overhyped. it might have been overhyped a bit back in 2013 when we have seen the price go over $1100. but as you probably already have seen, it was dumped down due to a combination with bad news.

Bitcoin is not overhyped by far. It is hardly known to most stock investors that are all shitting their pants now.

There have been a lot of warnings last year that a massive crash was due to happen on the stock market, but it is getting quite bad right now..

If bitcoin gets a little piece of the action, we will see massive gains.

Last time Chinese markets opened for Bitcoin we had the biggest pump in history. If they start seeing it as a way to escape devaluation it may happen again and it won't matter if Bitcoin is overpriced, overhyped and all that. They will still use it along with other things like gold, art, stones, just to differentiate.

Yuan may in fact crash, but I'm not sure btc is the go-to thing.  I'd think precious metals might get a boost before bitcoin does, but I could be mistaken.  China has the most miners and the most invested in bitcoin if I'm not mistaken.  Also the most amount of counterfeit goods I've ever seen in my life.

Quote

Bitcoin, the world's most popular digital currency, has skyrocketed despite a floundering global market.

The currency dipped to $312 in November — after jumping more than 70 percent in October to $410 — but has steadily risen to more than $450 in the last two months.

Bitcoin was up 6 percent on Thursday morning, after opening at $429.
