i have the same line in my debug file.

Did you manage to get the wallet in sync?  because no matter what i do i get 0 active connections.

I have made verious changes to the .conf file and change IP, used other PC's etc. but the wallet will never sync.

Most Litecoin based coins use IRC to find other nodes.

You can turn it off by putting noirc=1 in your coin.conf file.

Sounds like you have been trojan'd but I can't say for sure. The reason is because you got k-lined (banned). Have you been banned or been to that irc network prior?  It looks like a botnet has used your information to log in, and possibly did something wrong or spammed or w/e it did. Botnets can take over your PC and use it without you really knowing or during idle time. I would do a virus and adware scan asap.

I downloaded the starcoin build linked in the alternate cryptocurrencies board at https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/star-coin-str-the-coin-with-bonus-star-blocks-259012

I noticed there are IRC messages in the debug.log for this program:

This seems very strange to me.  Is this coin software just a wallet stealer or something similar?

EDIT:  After doing a quick search, it seems that the bitcoin software uses IRC to bootstrap: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Network#IRC
I guess starcoin is doing the same, after all it's another clone of the bitcoin software.  #relieved.
