-snip-

What SFR10 said is correct. The new#new lands the link in those posts that have come after the last time you (from your profile) visited that thread and checked the replies. Once the replies have been "seen" by you the new "tag" will be removed and thus they will be removed from the "unread" section of your profile under those threads which you posted in.

This does not mean that it will land up in the same place where you left off for everyone. Its only for your profile. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

The method that you posted doesn't actually open the post where you left off. If a thread gets a new reply, then the ".new#new" url would lead you to the last reply of that thread instead of the actual post where you left off.

In order to achieve the same, here are the steps :

1. Click on the post form where you want to continue later as shown :

2. The url that you land upon must be bookmarked

->

Sorry mate, but it always lands me to where I left Huh

This is so clear. It's impossible for me to say it twice. Beside that the other way is you remember what page you commented in thread. You can use it like this https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/overwhelming-consensus-excludes-lauda-remains-in-dt2-went-in2-buz-w-sold-act-2945878.52

The number behind the drop lead you to that page but not directly to your column. (Hope you understand)

Anyway Did you ever tried a thread that have many comments, it will helps you solve the meaning.

Because .new#new will just bring you to the last comment or newest

So, Didn't it solve the purpose of this thread ?

Actually I meant that the method posted in thread is working, it always lands me where I left.

"apoorvlathey" is correct, but there's already a function within the forum itself (just click the violet "new" button):

Okay, so some of you might already know this and some don't.

If you already know, you can leave this post since there is nothing new.

Now, for the rest of you.

Just put these two words at the end of topic link, then whenever you will use this updated link you will start from where you left.

".new#new"

Suppose, this is the link of topic,

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annpostokenfirst-pos-smart-contract-tokenlending-platform-available-2110712

After editing the link, it will look like this.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2110712.new#new

Bookmark this new updated link and use it, everytime you open it you will start from where you left.
