-dont hodl anything for 5 years, this market is ever changing you might get rekted
Disagree with this. How could you say don't hodl anything for 5 years? If you want to be rich, you must take a big risk. Imagine you have bought and hodl bitcoin since 2009/2010 when the price was only $0.01 - $0.1 and still hodl it for 5 years or more.

Probably he owns shit coins and don't know the history of the market. Bitcoin is good to hold and you really have to believe on that, theres a risk but its profitable on time.

I would like to start trading cryptos, I will have a lot of time for me by July, and I would like to try "the adventure" by starting with 500 €.

I played poker a lot (7 years and almost 10 million hands played) with a strict bankroll management that allowed me never to break, and regularly withdraw small amounts, so I am someone reasoning, not a gambler. I don't want for example buy 5 x 100 € cryptos and cross my fingers, but more diversify and play on the short or very short term ...

What could you give me as tips for starting trading?

With your experience in poker OP it seems that you now how to control your emotions because you know when to take profits so I think it would be easier for you to start trading. One of the sites that I learned a lot in trading is https://www.babypips.com/learn. They call it the school of pipsology wherein you will learn step by step how to trade and the concepts behind it. It is important to have a good foundation and though it is made for forex traders, the concepts are still the same because it is still trading. You are going back to school this time.

You can search a lot of trading videos as well that would be a big help for you to move forward. Even after you learn this all, the best teacher for you would be experience because you will understand it more by experiencing it and you will know yourself more if you would like to be a short term or long term trader. Crypto trading is risky because market is so volatile so always have money management and if possible invest only what you can afford to lose.

Glad you decided to take the leap over, hopefully you can stick around for a bit. A few tips I can provide

-get on more exchanges (arb spots + get cheaper price on some)
-never leave any funds on exchanges
-dont hodl anything for 5 years, this market is ever changing you might get rekted
Getting more exchanges are good yet very risky. In choosing arb spot we should very careful on choosing worth coins because the time of transfering coins may take time to other exchange. Also, the important is dont invest that you cant afford to lose we should keep in mind. Patience is necessary in trading crypto's yet on holding coins for 5 years for me is not good the possibilities price might not high according to your plan and expected price.

Hello everyone,

I started buying cryptos in late December, I invested a small amount in a dozen cryptos that I want to HODL for at least 5 years (Ethereum, Ripple, Stellar, Cardano, Verge, Tron, Reddcoin, Paccoin, Funfair, Everex)

I specify that I am a novice, so any advice, link to a video, a good article etc ... is good to take!

I am currently on Binance and Yobit, I used these two to buy my ten cryptos to hold, but I have never try to understand the programs, including purchase orders and sale, in which pair to do it, etc ...

If you know cool tutorials, I'm also interested!

Hope I'll get some good advices, thanks! (and sorry for my english)
before starting you have to understand first what is trading and how it works, you can try it with a little trade by using news or technical, you must be patient and learn to understand the market,

Welcome to crypto. My advices to newcomers:

- Never trade with what you can't afford to lose. Ever.
- Think long term. Sure you can make a little bit of money with short term trading, but you'll never get big without patience.
- Study a lot, and improve yourself. These forums, important twitter accounts, slack and telegram groups, reddit, crypto news sites, etc are good sources. Don't worry, you'll find the best of them in time, if you're persistent. Smiley
- If you had a loss, do not think that the world has come to an end. Just rise again...

I think that with a market that is always volatile and difficult to predict today, it is very difficult to trade successfully. In addition, we may see today that the BTC just hit the $ 9000 mark has started to fall sharply and reached the $ 8200 mark. With such a market going down, trade is more impossible. I think that if you are planning to trade then you should wait for the market over this time span.

Welcome, from a past poker enthusiast to another.

You'll find that your skills and mindset from poker will help you to transition in to trading quite seamlessly. Some of the most important skills are patience and discipline and that's the same within poker. Likewise in poker tilt is your worst enemy and in trading it is fear.

My biggest piece of advice would be to have strict goals in mind for all of your trades and to stick with them. Aim for a set profit say 5% and once you reach it then take it, do not give in to greed.
