as long as your solar panel can handle antminer's power, it must be profit. But you need to calculate other conditions, rainy, night, cloudy etc.

Hi,

Me and my dad are complete noobs at this, but want to start a little side hobby mining. I currently have my gtx 1070 mining on my pc which is getting about £1.77 a day. No overclocking or anything, just installed Nicehash and let it run to kinda test the waters while we do our research. I was looking into the prices and all that for getting more doesnt seem very profitable which the current prices of gpu's. Is it worth overclocking/getting more you reckon? these dedicated miners seem a lot better for Th/s, and Id also like to still use my gpu for gaming lol.

We discovered the Bitmain Antminer S7 which, if Nicehash's profit calculator thing is right, should give us roughly £180 a month which seems really good. They seem to cost from 650 upwards on ebay. We saw the S9 too but we're not willing to invest too much into this until we know more about it. Any other good miners we could look into?

As for our electricity situation. We have 12 solar panels which according to my dad, makes profit per year as he had them installed a few years ago and has some sort of fixed rate for next 20 years or so. He's ganna get me the full details on how we save/gain per year from this and the numbers for it. But he said basically he doesnt pay for electricity, and our provider actually pays us as we put electricity into the system or whatever.

My question is now, would an s7 be profitable for us? According to Nicehash's calculator it can make £180 per month, so that would like a 5 month return which seems really good, but Im still abit skeptical.

Also, would a garage which is pretty much freezing all the time be a suitable place for it? Its England and well, its fucking cold most of the time so would I need additional fans?

Do you think this could work out quite profitable for us?

Thanks a lot for reading, this shit is so interesting haha.
