Quote
Keiser is collaborating closely with Russell Brand. One project involves establishing an overseas hedge-fund designed to short-sell shares from major companies and so "destabilise neoliberal economic domination". Put more simply, Keiser and Brand aim to make profit by sabotaging the share price of multinationals, and redistributing the money to vulnerable individuals.

"Is it legal?"

"Totally. Our strategy exploits the market tools that got us into this mess. We've established our own cryptocurrency [StartCOIN] to fund the revolution."

Assuming that Brand understands the details, some might consider revising their view of him as an entertaining irrelevance. "That," Keiser says, "was never, ever, my opinion of Russell."

If Russel Brand has 8 million followers and endorses Startcoin, why is its marketcap only $1,199,846? That works out to each follower buying 15 cents worth of Startcoins on average.

Russel brands followers is not crypto addicts and probably have no idea how to buy a startcoin (yet). That startcoins market cap is only 1.2 million should tell you something about how overvalued some other coins are.

I don't think Startcoin will replace bitcoin anytime soon (if ever), but if any coin has a fighting chance, then this is the one. Most coins are focused on some technological advance, usually not important enough to warrant the large valuation these coins have. Startcoin is not like this. The technology is relatively unimportant even though it has faster transactions than bitcoin. Remember that 99%+ of the population don't even understand the technology behind bitcoin, even less so the so the more advanced concepts.

StartCOIN's selling point is instead marketing towards to 99+% potential crypto users that don't know shit about crypto currencies, but has lost confidence in government policies and banks. There are a lot of those, but the crypto community has shown no interest in spreading the concepts beyond the already informed geeks. Startcoin/startjoin attempts to do do something about this, and involvement of some well known protest leaders like Russel Brand is one way of spreading the coins to a larger public who can instantly used their new crypto to fund projects for their cause. The premine ensures that free coins can be given off to those who contribute to the startjoin ecosystem, and to reward new ideas. The concept would not work without this premine.

Startcoin seems to be still under the radar of most of the crypto press (exept Keiser Report), so its not so well known as many other coins. This might change any time however.

What Startcoin already have:

- Its own crowdfunding platform https://www.startjoin.com
- Its own Mastercard debit cards https://www.startjoin.com/anxcard
- Its own "TV station" https://www.youtube.com/user/startjoinTV (with in the UK  a well known politician and the worlds best snooker player)
- The full backing of Max Keiser and Stay herbert with frequent mention on RT (Russia Today) international TV news.
- The backing of The Trews https://www.youtube.com/user/russellbrand https://www.startjoin.com/trewsprojects with the intent of making Startcoin their "revolution currency" https://www.startjoin.com/Trewscratchies
- The backing of latin americas largest bitcoin exchange.
- The backing of Karl Gray, a very large bitcoin investor https://twitter.com/paradimeshift
- The backing of BankToTheFuture https://bnktothefuture.com with the intent of integrating Startcoin into the bank
- and lots more, please add to the thread

The future? Stay tuned.

I've been observing it for days.  Volume looks pretty low given the scale of the endorsement.  It says something that somebody with 8 million twitter followers (and 1 million YouTube subscriptions) can't convince his following to get into his crypto currency.  That could say the masses think crypto currency is stupid or simply have no interest in it.

but of course a lot of these celebrity types could just have ghost followers, hired by their agents no less, and this is probably the case as Russel Brand is in the United Kingdom and I doubt 10%+ of the population is following him on twitter.  Cheesy

closer to 10 million twitter and it's not 'his' crypto
startjoin accepts bitcoin and startcoin

but startcoin via startjoin platform has crowdfunded a lot of his projects for the trews etc, which also have huge followings
startcoin is making a big social change too, plus giving out free startcoin scratchcards in the street for free

QE for the people!

Russell Brand also plans to accept startcoin for his shop section

Bunch of absolute bullshit.

Russel Brand is an over opinionated rich cunt who bought his way into fame.
Startcoin is a piece of shit and will never replace bitcoin.

Russel Brand has 8 million followers, most of deranged teenage girls who follow his every beck and call, which is like 30x more people than Bitcoin's userbase..  and he just endorsed startcoin

RIP Bitcoin
