hey guys i tried cpu mining today

well the results dont seems to exciting considering...

my average hashrate is 37-40h/s
laptop 64.4w
electricicty costs are around 0.08

profit margin looks something like this :

Aeon=-40.21$
Bytecoin=-31.21
BTG= 33.02
Dash=-41.61

i used minergate for my test

do you recommend any other miner software for me to try??

It's good that you are taking a rational approach to mining on the laptop. For the coins you are mining, you might want to consider a forecasted value rather than the present value, but of course the profitability accuracy will be lower.

Another factor which I am not sure you have considered is the cooling of the notebook. When the CPU reaches too high a temperature, it will start to throttle and thus lower your hash rate.

Think this article is more suitable for people who might not have any idea, but you already seem well grounded. May be worth a look nonetheless. https://www.cryptoinfomag.com/2018/01/06/mining-using-notebooks/

I think the only approach is to download likes of ccminer for cpu and gpu run them on a pool see what hash rates you get and decide from there. Try a couple of different algorithms even try nice hash and see if it's worth your while.
A slice of something better than nothing.

Dual boot to a second copy of Windows that runs the miner. Don't have any personal information on that instance of Windows.

hi since you have already tried the CPU mining do you think the specs i have for my laptop are good enough?

also which software do you use to mine using your laptop amd are there anti viruses that i can download to prevent identity theft and malware mining

moreover, which software can provide you with the hash rate and laptop heat temperature

also how can you check the electricity usage ??

thanks again

Hi guys
i wanna start a test run to see what the hash-rate and how much cryptonight algorithm coins i can mine a day

how do i know if i should doing it knowing that my laptop specs are:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6500U CPU @ 2.5GHz 2.6 GHz

I dont have that cpu what you have in your laptop , but there is my topic about my cpu mining experience with different cpu's and all the details with earnings ( as of Jan 12 and as of jan 16 ):

put it on a computer you rarely use or use only for mining.. or cross your fingers.  i have the IC wallet on my computer... If you are that scared then crypto is probably not for you

well what im scared off is downloading a mining software and when i stop mining maybe theres a malware that forces my laptop to keep mining but for someone else how can i be sure that it wont happen ?

and thanks for the advice

Or worse.  It steals your identity.

Well all you can do is hope.  Nicehash isnt bad.  they pay you in BTC.  If you wanna get a altcoin and hope the price goes up I would go to hashparty or hashvault and join one of their pools.  Tells you everything you need to CPU mine

Hi guys

i wanna start a test run to see what the hash-rate and how much cryptonight algorithm coins i can mine a day

how do i know if i should doing it knowing that my laptop specs are:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6500U CPU @ 2.5GHz 2.6 GHz
my installed ram is 8 gb
64-bit operating system
Amd radeon R5 m330

more over i would like to know what software to download to monitor heat and hash rate, which crypto should i consider mining considering the algorithm be cryptonight

please let me know if there are any additional information you will need to help me proceed

i will also post the results
