To be very honest, I am new both in Bitcointalk and in cryptocurrency world. I want to become a Jr. Member to be able to post our ICO ANN here (I have learned a little bit of jargon going up and down in this forum).
If you are new on crypto-currency how you will post ann? Anyway, you can post announcement thread when you create an account here. You don't need to be a jr. member to post announcement thread. If you create 1 post per day then you would be able to gain jr membership by 42 days (Maximum). Even you can be a jr member earlier. try to post maximum 14 within 2 days. then create 1 post per day. I got experience that beginning week can achieve 14 posts. after that every 14 days we can achieve 14 activity.

Thanks  for your response. I am a member of an expert team and I'm already learning a lot. It is like a chicken and egg situation. And re your advice, I didn't know that I can gain more activity points in the first week. Too bad my first week has already finished. Thanks anyway for your advice.

Where does a newbie who is really a newbie in the field of cryptocurrency start a conversation. I mean I am still learning about the topic.. and mostly from what I read here. How do I contribute back?  Smiley
You can read threads in bitcoin discussion, altcoin discussion, speculation and speculation(altcoins) section to learn more about cryptocurrencies. You can contribute back later when you already have the knowledge to do so. Also, I suggest that you don't start your ICO Announcement thread since you are just starting to learn about cryptocurrency. How will you be able to launch a successful ICO if you are a greenhorn in this field?

I am a member of an ICO team and they are expert enough in the field. But your advice was helpful and I'll start to gain more knowledge in this matter through reading the sub-forums. Thank you Tankdestroyer.

Probably to earn money as a campaign manager. Seems like it's a pretty lucrative business as it requires literally zero amount of work other than getting the initial announcement thread up, and then just raking in the cash for making a spreadsheet which is likely automated on a lot of them anyway.

Sorry but I couldn't help but notice the above. I'm just wondering how you could be "new to the cryptocurrency world" and at the same time want to post your "ICO ANN here". If you don't mind explaining how that works.

I did read that thread and I knew the formula.

There was no increase in my activity until now that I got logged out and logged back in.

And my question still remains.. : Where does a newbie who is really a newbie in the field of cryptocurrency start a conversation. I mean I am still learning about the topic.. and mostly from what I read here. How do I contribute back?  Smiley
You must wait for a couple of hours and sometimes the activity increase in minutes after your post it's not as instant as you think.
Check your activity from time to time and don't expect that you can get more than 14 activity after you post more than 14 post you must wait for 2 weeks before you activity would increase another 14 activity.

If you would have read the Newbie - read before posting thread, you'd know.

How is forum activity calculated?
Activity is calculated with the following formula:

Code:
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is increased by staying logged in or by posting and is updated every 30 minutes. There is a maximum of 14 activity points every 2 weeks.

Thanks for the useful link. It's quite clear that if I post everyday I will have an activity of 14 after the first period, but how is time defined?

Is it the number of logins or how long I stayed in and which unit does it have?
