If you place a wager of $1000 on False.
And true comes up. You get $1000 back + $1000 as winnings.

I read this right. If I bet on False and it turns out to be True I win? So if it turns out to be False I win too? Seems like a good bet.

Wish I had BTC.

I am going to say a big false, but I'm not willing to randomly send away money (for some of the same reasons you haven't).  So this will just be a gentleman's wager I guess.

Or you could outsource escrow to another service

Thanks for the great link Atruk!  Now this is also a more interesting bet and I'm not so sure which side I'm on either.  I might throw a couple of BTC towards true, although sadly I cannot benefit from "insider trading"-like information =p.

Honestly I think the BFL bet's probably one of the least interesting bets on the site. I'm throwing some coin on Pope bets.

Question: You have my BTC. Couldn't you just run off with it?

Answer: True I could, but again if I did my reputation would be completely
destroyed.

Pirate, Zhoutong(on second thought maybe not him), Cablepair.. and many more have said this exact phrase.

You need to use escrow.

Well problem is, if I take out $1500 and convert to BTC now, And BTC crashes to $10.
From market wild swings, that would already be a 1/2 loss there.

I could do some form of Currency escrow.

Though first I would need a serious better, and then we from there can
take it to the next level.

I believe he is suggesting that for a $1500 bet, your description is way too ambiguous and confusing to be taken seriously. Was he too subtle?

For starters, your headline - "True or False: Butterfly Labs is not a scam" should be stated in the affirmative - that BFL IS a scam, true or false?

I'm a native English speaker and I still had to read it over 3X to really make sure I knew what you were trying to wager on.

That's just the beginning. For a bet of this size, I'd expect to see deadlines, clearly expressed examples of "scam" and a way to resolve disputes. If you're serious, you'll rewrite this proposal and I'd suggest that you use an escrow that could also be an arbiter of who won or lost the bet.

I change the title and things. Taken some of your suggestions. The other part you can read my FAQ, reason why I wouldn't be able to do that.

BTW I updated the front page, made it
much more clearer, and some improvements.

Waiting for some wagers, well there has to be someone
that thinks that BFL Asics could be a scam  Smiley

Statement: BFL ASIC is a scam: (TRUE/FALSE)

I wager $1,500 on False.

Wagering can be broken into any about of increments
of below $1500. Max is $1500 in total.

Some potentials the above statement could be True

1) BFL hasn't delivered yet
2) Could be a switch-bait scheme
3) https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/re-butterfly-labs-ceo-25-million-usd-mail-fraud-a-concise-summary-of-evidence-110805.
*Ceo 25 million dollar USD mail fraud. Summary of evidence.
4) Preorder back in June 2012, taken a long time, and still to date no deliveries.
5) https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/butterflylabs-huge-scam-114329
*Butterfly Lab HUGE Scam

How it works

If your result comes true. You get your initial bet X2.
If you place a wager of $1000 on False.
And true comes up. You get $1000 back + $1000 as winnings.

For wagering: 13cjE1VDsiF5SjFEt5kg2izYmcvUmpwTi5.

My bet at BTC current prices roughly: (58.05 BTC)

FAQ

Question: You have my BTC. Couldn't you just run off with it?

Answer: True I could, but again if I did my reputation would be completely
destroyed. You will see I been around on the forms for a while,
and done some transactions. My list of reputation is below in my Sig.
I have sent first, some a BFL unit worth $800 at the time.
And some hardware's I bought. All went flawlessly.

Question: Why not escrow or show me your BTC balance?

Answer: Well I have some reasons, BTC prices have been changing a lot
recently. And I don't want to hold $1500 in BTC. As it could cut in half from a crash.
In the result of a win, I would use VirtEx Canadian exchange, as I have an account on there.
I would transfer $1500 convert to BTC. And within 5-7 days give your winnings.
And since I have your initial bet, I would send those immediately.
