I think that it is quite possible to invest in Bitcoin and wait for 5 years to make a profit. After 5 years, Bitcoin will not have time to disappear because it has not even started to develop.
this is now one of the most correct strategies used by large players and smart investors. in addition, they use any tools to increase the amount of bitcoin in their portfolio

If that such amount is a spare money, if I already have lots of it then I can go and aimed for long term investment and sets my plans. Everything depends from each opinions coming from investors who have that money. The amount of money will be the deciding factor if how will look for the
future. Many believes that if you will invest with bitcoin in such long period of time you'll be able to maximize the profits, It's up to your good research and patience to keep holding.

Are you willing to invest USD10,000 or more in a currency which seems to be static at the moment and keep it for 5 years or longer?

You hope that, after 5 years or longer, the price of the currency will go very high.

Are you patient enough? Or could you sell the currency for other currencies when you see that the currency shows no progress after one or two years?

At present, there are some coins that I hope to keep for the long term, at least 3 years. There are several choices of coins that can be used as an investment and if I think the coins have a good project and a solid team, I will be patient to hold them in the long run

You have to admit that the value of each currency is constantly changing and unfortunately, it isn't changing for the better, what I can purchase with $10,000 now isn't what I would be able to purchase with $10,000 in the future, infact it's somewhere around lesser in the future calculating with the number of things I can buy with it, so keeping $10,000 static for 5 whole years definitely even somethig i can do or even something I would ever consider doing.

By using the word static, it means even after 5 years of waiting the fund will still be 10k without any increase. Static currency in crypto can also be refer to stablecoin and their usefulness is for hedging against volatility. If you are looking for a coin worth buying which you will leave for 5 years, I advise you to check Bitcoin out.

of course everyone is different, if I have 10k I will save it on bitcoin.
if the time period is 5 years, because only bitcoin has survived for 1 decade.
but if the numbers are short maybe I will also invest in altcoin. Well of course, if it's not profitable I will find which coins can make a profit.

Do you think the price of such currency will rise, then? and what if it remains as static as possible? ;)it's stagnation when you're on one spot.
in 5 years no one will just stop without moving. You certainly know the nature of crypto, but if you invest in a long time it will be very risky because the market movement occurs very quickly. in 5 years anything can happen, maybe profit or loss.

You can invest in a project and decide to sell it off next few months once there's a huge price movement. It's not about hodling up to 5yrs. Motive of investing in a project is to make profit at any given time

I guess you are just making mere hypothetical statement. But there is nothing like static cryptocurrency when you think of cryptocurrencies, each coin has its bad and good times. Moreover, anyone who wants to invest in crypto  wants to make profit whether on the short or long term basis hence they would always move with the coin which is making progress.

For altoins that all are saying "sleeping giant" I won't put that much on it, I will rather invest in bitcoin and profitable altcoins and will see the static altcoin in 5years and will decide what to do with it. All these, from experience it's safer to leave your money than in new projects that promise going to space and will bring back freedom for holders.

I think it’s worth revising your option if all the coins go up and yours go down. Since on such a long-term, many projects with an unscrupulous team will be eliminated. I don’t even know what it is possible to choose for 5 years, looking at the screenshots of coinmarketcap many years ago, I want to trust only xrp, ltc, btc.
I think there will be new coins that can be trusted as much as the ones you are talking about. but now it’s not clear what kind of coins it will be

This is not possible; no currency stays stagnant for that long. Even if it is so, you shouldn’t invest in it. Rather I would invest in something more dynamic and moving like the BTC or ETH so that I can make more money by investing those 10k and after five years you will have a decent profit plus the money you started with. In static one, you will have exactly the same amount left after five years minus the profit.
He question is what will exactly make the coin static for that long, because if the project that produced such coin is really a working project, then it is impossible for the value to remain same for that long. Any coin that has even been static for 2 years should already be considered as a dead coin, because it shows that there is no demand for such coins again.

What make the value of a coin fluctuates; it is when demand and supply plays its role in the system. People must have need for it and then demand, while those who are capable of supplying it does so, so for a coin to remain static, then there is absolute zero demand for it, the only static coins I have seen is stable which we know that it is what they were created for already and they service their purpose.

I don’t think there is a point in storing and investing in a static currency. Your money will be stagnant, you wouldn’t make any progress or money, and five years is a very long time   So better it’s not to invest in something that will remain static for next five years because after that period, your money will be the same, and you will be standing nowhere.

I think it's hard for people to save their money that much in cryptocurrency except traders and it's not a holder. Too many people have fallen and are frustrated affected by the decline of bitcoin and eth last year and not a little money is lost.is there anyone who thinks?
You are right, the system of cryptocurrency is still quite not that perfect for reserve yet, but I believe we will get there. The so called USDT have also failed in their own part too, which makes it unreliable. So if anyone wishes to still try any coin for reserve, it will still be Bitcoin, just that one has to be sure that the time of making such reserve is when the price of Bitcoin is extremely low, and not at peak.

It is better to save our funds in Bitcoin when the value is very low, so that as it grows, it will be like getting interest for keeping money is a safe place. Which we all know that the interest we get in Bitcoin savings can never be compared to that of the one offered to us from a traditional bank.

now even though the market conditions have started static. but there are still many who still doubt the crypto currency. maybe there are still many people who are still traumatized by the red market two years ago. so the conclusion might be that the dicrypto people already have a lot of activity outside of crypto but that is for those who are impatient.
No matter the activities they get engaged to outside crypto, it can still never be as gainful as what they will get from cryptocurrency, some of the people that feel they lost their investment in the last red market where mostly the cause of the misfortune that befell them, because greed is what was their problem.

Bitcoin had already given them enough profit at a certain stage and also with a sign of pull back, but because they needed something that will get them fast and huge money, they failed to pull back before Bitcoin, believing in future figure that was never going to be a reality then. So what I expected was for them to have learnt from their mistake instead of quitting and use it to amend.

No, I will not do so. 5 years is a long time, if I have $ 10,000 I will not invest in a static coin and wait for it. Instead I will invest in the top 10 coins on the coinmacketcap. And try trading it daily

No, of course it's crazy in my opinion and unnecessary risk. First of all, the project should have a road map that will determine the vector of its development in the coming years. If the project is developing, then a key event should be assigned for each quarter, which indicates that the work is carried out according to the schedule and there are no delays. And this should be accompanied by volatility and the currency can not be static for a long time.

I will not invest in static coins, and the investment value is 10k for 5 years, really thats is a long time. I don't think it will be useful, the potential for profit is very small. if you crypto enthusiasm with 10K funds you can gain more profit by many ways.

I am ready to invest this amount only in a project that can become an important part of the future ecosystem of the blockchain industry. Also, it should have partnerships with large cryptocurrency startups and support of investors and the community. Investing in a project that has small trading volumes and has only promises is very risky.

I don’t get everything that you said here that much, because the only static coin I know are stable coins which are not for investments because they are simply there to continue retaining the value of your fiat since they are peg to 1 usd.

The other way I think is if you mean coin that is not increasing now in the market, which if it is by that, yes I will, provided the coin is not at its peak and if the project in question has a very great product and team that I am sure will make the said project work very fine within that time frame, so it is worth investing in the, but why not join the train of BTC that is already in its uptrend now and we know it will continue increase now till ATH.

If $ 10,000 is all my money for investment, then I will make my crypto portfolio of various coins and spend some of the money for long-term investments.
I won't just dive to random coins just to claim that I have various investment with different crypto's.

My standard would be quality over quantity, it's better to have the best of the best rather than have a lot of it but with poor quality. Those coins like bitcoin obviously and Ethereum.

Obviously, investing long term in a stable cryptocurrency seems meaningless, because usually these cryptos are useful only as a safe haven before a bear market. And having our capital invested in a currency that will not grow after five years is nothing more than wasting time, unless our prospects are very pessimistic and we believe that within five years the market will have collapsed completely.

In fact, the main attraction of this market is its high volatility, so that anyone who decides to invest in cryptos should always take into account the volatility of a currency as an indispensable factor to invest in it, so a stable currency does not seem the best option for an investor in this market.

2. Safe investment, no fatal risk.
3. I can sell it anytime, when it hasn't reached the 5 year deadline.

you should ask yourself why something that is useful and has potential remains dormant for such a long time as five years and not make any move!
it is possible and understandable to see underrated projects but they won't stay that way for such a long time they eventually start growing. and if it doesn't then it is possible that your initial assessment was wrong about the potential of that project!

Thats a huge money to gamble with actually. But depends, if the project is really worth a shot then I'll go for it. For me, I think its much better if you can spend iy by spreading it on many altcoins or play safe and bluechip companies. I rather put such fund in bitcoin and secretly keep the key in a cool place, because 5years from now, the bitcoin is going to be much more valuable than we earlier thought. Buying unproven alcoins with many promises might be a big risk hold for 5years duration.

Maybe not in exactly 5 years, I mean Bitcoin could go into another super winter (yes guys, this last winter? That was no way a super bear/winter) and then we could see extremely low prices, lower than today for several years. But I agree generally that as you pull the time frame and make your eyes go see long term, than you know today is going to be a growth pad for tomorrow. Altcoins? Use them sure if you find something useful but don't bet on them.

that is a naive question because you are contradicting yourself in the question itself. basically you say that something will remain the same price for 5 years and then after 5 years it will rise. then why would you want your money to be locked in it for 5 years without any profit?!!! while you can use that money in other places that are giving you profit for 5 years and increase your wealth drastically!!!

that is how an investment works. you never want to leave your money idle for such a long time knowing it yields no returns. not to mention that entering something only takes minutes so even if after 4 years that investment started rising you could enter it right away without needing to bag hold it that long!

For me I will be more patience because from the start I already know that patience is the partner in this industry so we nees to apply to earn more. You should take a very big risk to make your capital multiply. Five years from now the coin that you are now holding is twice or thrice on your price value.

Of course! if I know an investment that has a potential to grow in the next 5 years then why not? but I don't have that $10,000 at the moment and can't afford to take risk with that amount of money because I need Fiat money to grow my business. I sometimes think that investments are good but you need a capital to start with it and only those rich people can participate mostly with this kind of opportunity.

I believe that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency will grow in the future and it's happening now though.

Are you patient enough? Or could you sell the currency for other currencies when you see that the currency shows no progress after one or two years?

If that's the way it is, I prefer to invest in gold, not just static, the change in annual prices is more profitable than this, or maybe real estate. I also don't want to waste time just for a so-called "Patience" without any Profits.

If I'm sure about  coin at least doubling in five years time than I have no problem investing in it. I'd think it as a 5 years fixe deposit. But if there's no such assurance than I'd stick with other potentially quick profit coins than long term investments for low profit.

$10,000 is such a large amount for me and I can't let that amount sleep with a static cryptocurrency without that kind of small guarantee that I've something in return in the near future.

I am patient but with this kind of question, it's like you're throwing away money for something that you don't have to. And what's this coin that you're asking here? are you thinking of doing this and let that money sit around for that crypto for 5 years?

I'll do this but only for bitcoin/eth.

Please I don't really get your question. Maybe a little info to clarify what you mean by a static coin may help. Moreover, there's one thing I can tell you for sure that, Bitcoin in the long-term is a good choice to make. There are plenty of potentials for Bitcoin to make it way up in the next years ahead. So yeah, I'd chose Bitcoin over stable coins (if that's what you meant by a static coin).

That is a huge amount to start with. If you are just coming in into the crypto space or you are just planning to to become an investor, i will urge you not to deal with such amount. Instead, you can just make use of a limited amount of money to learn the basic, which will give you more assurance if it is what you truly and really need.

You can hardly see static or unchanging value in cryptocurrency, most of them are volatile and some just die. So if you see and keeping an eye on a particular cryptocurrency, you will be able to tell if there will be hope for it or none. Why wait uncertain for 5 years if you can profit from your money in 1-2 years with other currencies? You are the boss of your own money.

I think 5 years is also a lot - some altcoins do not survive even a year. You would have to be really lucky and sell after 5 years with a big profit. A year to two years is enough. But I would rather invest the money in bitcoin or ethereum.
There is a really big risk of putting more than $ 10,000 in something that you don't know will survive for 5 years. I should not have the patience of 5 years to wait and watch as the price evolves.

What do you mean by using the word "static". It's mean that your coin's price unchanged?Huh Like USDT, PAX or something like that.
I guess you refer the solid and legit coins, right? I think to make the safest, you should hold BTC.

Depends on why the currency is "static". Are the developers nolonger active?  Is the coin kept static on purpose? Is the project still viable and solid? These are things I would verify before deciding on whether to continue holding or not..

The question is ambiguous but quite simple, if I wake up I see that the token in which I invest on a long-term basis has good development prospects, I will study it initially and then I will make a decision since in 5 years much can happen and I don’t really want to risk my money.

I am not always in favour of holding coins for as long as five years. But in fact, I do not favour holding even for a short term. Rather I would buy just a few months ago after the market starts increasing. The crypto market is highly volatile and the market goes up and down from time to time. So in this context, for me holding coins for long is not beneficial that much.

Five years for me is too long and I think I can only have it for about 2 or 3 years. I'll invest to bitcoin and eos to be honest as they are the coins that I am able to see profitable for long term hold. Additional to that price of crypto change so fast as in almost per second so its either I get profit already after 2 years or I lose profit.

For every good coins that's worth keeping for that long must show its true potential in just 2years ,there roadmap must be followed up as they stated and with very good working product too
2-3 years is enough. Because if you have to wait for 5 years, I think it will decline again at that time. So if indeed a long time must always be seen also the development of coins that we keep. Because when ATH happens we never know when it happened.

I would not be able to keep the coin for 5 years, because the market is changing very quickly if the project did not show itself in 2 years, then I would get rid of the coins.

I don't seem willing. If I have that much $ 10,000, I will use it to do large-scale crypto trading and invest in a place that I consider feasible to produce a balanced profit. Because for me 5 years, not a short time and that does not necessarily produce the right one.

I think you mixed something up. Ideally, your static/stable currency is exactly worth 10k in 5 years, otherwise it wouldnt be stable Wink
If you want to increase your chances to double your investment you should have a look at not so stable coins like ETH and BTC, chances are higher that they are worth more than today in eg. 5 years. But also the opposite may be true.

You want to invest in static currecy and waiting a huge raising? WHAT? Smiley Static(stable actually) coin is USDT for example Smiley Stable coins = static coins, they got dollar peg for example.. Other regular coins are not static, but volatile, most of them very volatile Grin

What do you mean by static currency?
To be able to earn, the currency must be dynamic. The currency whose price does not change, will only retain your funds.
If I buy any asset, I will try to make a plan for the progress (rapid price move up/down, a long no progress).
