@sandy-is-fine, and more than the obvious alt account of this serial scammer - it's amazing that it doesn't even try to be innovative at all, which is kind of good because it's quickly recognized and tagged. Although @Luter01 deleted his post, it is archived - he only changed the contact information.

Thanks for the explanation, I'm not too familiar with the differences in the flag, it's a pity that the OP did not choose the option that will show a red warning
You're very welcome... I think @sol_throwaway did the right thing by not creating those types of flags without having concrete proof.

- although I think that does not prevent anyone from creating such a flag.
That's true, but because of their "nature", only the victim should be the one to create those types of flags.

But it doesn't appear to be a type 2 or type 3 flag [AKA the "scammer flag"], so it'll remain as a yellow banner.

Unfortunately, as things stand, I don't think the OP will be the last victim of this scammer.

He seems to have 20 posts deleted on his thread.
You can see all of them from "here [click "scraped" button]".

Another proof that the average newbie has no help from a trust system that he does not understand at all, despite the warnings that existed in the scammer profile.
That's unfortunately true, but the main issue is the fact that trust isn't shown to those who stumble upon such threads from google or other search engines and "Luter01" didn't have an active flag back then.

I'm also going to support it, but only because of the proof I've found from some of the deleted comments!

I hope that some more DT members will support the flag which will show a red warning above the scammer thread.

Try to post USDT address that he is using, scammers are mostly lazy and maybe if we track that address we will find that he has more accounts (definitely he will have) and then you may be able to make him lose a lot of effort.

Scammers are very lazy especially those who sell accounts in the forum, they are ready to scam for 1 dollar.
I hope you learn from your loss, I gave you two merits, keep learning and asking and you will get more.

~snip~

It is true that the OP was negligent, but it is more than evident that he did not know how to check someone's trust - because in the case of this scammer all you see is a number that has -5 in the end, which means nothing to many beginners. The previous trust system at least gave a warning that it was risky to trade with someone as soon as he had one negative feedback from one DT member, and now there obviously needs to be many more for such a warning to be displayed.

I hope that some more DT members will support the flag which will show a red warning above the scammer thread.

Another proof that the average newbie has no help from a trust system that he does not understand at all, despite the warnings that existed in the scammer profile. In my opinion, the forum has a bad policy towards such things - such members should not have the opportunity to be present at the forum, but the only thing we can do is try to warn others about such members.
But OP was also sort of negligent. If only he had done some due diligence before sending the scammer money, he would have seen some red flags like he has noticed now such as the large number of deleted replies in the scammer's thread.

Further still, I don't think the trust feedback system is too complicated for a newbie to become suspicious that something is up with certain profiles. All they have to do is to open the trust page, and they will see the feedback if the account was already tagged.

For a start, I supported the flag.

I'm just surprised that these scammers can easily advertise their services here. Hoping new users don't do the same mistake as I did
What more do you want to be done?

Account sales are highly discouraged, and the scammers are usually tagged, but you even paid a blind eye to the negative trust given to the scammer's profile.

Someone else was scammed by the same person sometime back;
Today one of my client contacted with me and told that he got scammed by Luter01 - https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/luter01-955479

Unfortunately he falled for a small price offer and got scammed.
I asked if he has any evidence like chat logs, but it was on telegram and obviously Luter01 deleted everything.

I thought that I might do a little digging about this user and see if I can find anything which is worth flagging him so other newbies might not get scammed by him.

His thread - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.56951783

Feedback quoted from his thread

Bought 2 Jr members from op. All good

I buy a member account, and it's good. Thank you.

I buy Sir member today, good merits too.

KoRanAe and laminfofana are connected already as alt accounts and tagged as using alt accounts to give vouch for himself.
Most likely it is happening here aswell. He is giving vouch to himself with his alt accounts.

Is it worth to give Luter01 a flag? Every DT member can decide if they want to support it or not.

the admin wanted the forum to be as free as possible and sadly that includes scammers being able to post/promote their scams. for that reason, the members here in the forum heavily encourage new members to do their own research before doing anything.

anyway, if you have any evidence/screenshots of your conversation and the transaction you made, you can post it on your thread and ask DT members to give a negative tag to the user.

To be honest the fault is 100% on me. I do not know what a signature campaign is.

what made you think(or believed) that you needed to buy an account from him in order to post daily on this forum? the forum is free to use. are you perhaps trying to buy an account that is ranked full member or above in order to join a signature campaign?

Additional Notes: I advise you to not deal with this user until this dispute is resolved.
how about, not dealing with this user at all. the user has multiple scam-related negative tags.

What happened::
I talked with him for two days concerning creating a BitcoinTalk account. He told me I needed to buy an account from him if I needed to post on the forum daily. After sending him 75 USDT for a normal account, he blocked all communication. He seems to have 20 posts deleted on his thread. Guess it's my fault for not making my due diligence, but please beware of this repeated scammer.
