Thanks for sharing with us. But keep in mind, once you receive such as PM from someone, then report to admin for spreading phishing links before creating a thread since we can't verify either PM was sent or not. So the scammer will get an immediate Permaban from the forum. I often avoid clicking links sent from an untrusted person, either on the forum or outside a forum. Need to verify what link is behind the sent links. That's how attacker has been getting the access of our device or account. So be always careful especially if you are a cryptocurrency user.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!
shouldn't this fall to unsolicited PMs and can get the user who sent it banned from the forum?
The scammer has been banned. Sharing phishing links is a bannable offense if it's reported to the moderators.

Just curious to know how does this scam is being done and how does it impersonate another User ?

Does it take you to outside forum ?
It's not impersonating another user. The link shared is meant to trick you into signing in thereby stealing your information which the scammer later users to hack your account

Yes, @Beparanf explain this very clearly and it is really tricky as anyone can fall for this scam if he did not know about it.

I will now double check the URL before entering any credentials  every time on bitcointalk or any other forum.

You will be redirected to a phishing website that looks like forum and it will show that you are logout, Normally you will re-login again quickly because you are viewing the link that user sends you. I never click the link since it will remain on my browser and I might click it accidentally. But the method of the scammer is really tricky, You might get caught by the hacker if you didn't view the link once you already click it.

anyway, great job spotting it. this is not the first time someone shared a link to a fake bitcointalk topic here in the forum. and if I remember correctly there was a similar situation before and there was a person who fell victim to it and lost money from a scam thinking that the link that was shared was a legitimate topic here in the forum.

Hire Bitcointalk Camp. Manager @ r7promotions.com
Report the PM to mods or admin. It's a phishing attempt.

There’s a lot of sketchiness that happens across PMs and Telegram. Be really, really careful.

funny enough - the one merit this account has is from the account that was trying to impersonate minerjones.

I've received a few of these messages as well.  Just hit them with a -1 trust whenever they appear.
