Greed is the best tool scammers use to steal from their victim, if you are someone who want the short road to success I promise you that you will end up learning the hard way, with the little knowledge and experience I have seen in the past I declared that anything that's too easy is never going to be attractive to me, that is the scammers road.

Years ago you can easily and safely going any promotions online or free drops and you will get your tokens, but today even free tokens aren't free anymore, even if the project is genuine you can still get trapped, most airdrops are scam today and every shilling on twitter are ongoing because money is involved, those shillers are doing it for money too.

Today I prefer to focus on myself and learn good skills, even if its very hard i will keep going back everyday to keep learning and one day I will find my way with it, this is my own way in crypto space now, I have said my last bye bye to free offers, bonuses, and airdrops years ago.

It's the end of the year again, where the pressure of wanting to "flex" or look fulfilled for the year, while in reality the year might have not gone so well.
So many people look for get rich schemes with ridiculous percentage gain, this scammers know there's an increase desperation by people this period.
So they ride on your greed to make it quick and rip you off your hard earned funds.
It's imperative you take your time, know what you're getting into before venturing into it, remember all that glitters isn't gold. If it's too good too be true,my friend I can tell you for free, it's most likely to be too good to be true.
Stay safe my friend.

I like this topic and it cannot be overstated as we are all prone to scams during this Ember periods. I will give you an example from a friend to support your assertions. I remember having a conversation with my friend like 3 days ago when he called me to confirm the price of a laptop to be specific an HP Spectre x360 price that he wanted to purchase it through a promo advert he saw online, on Facebook. The price he shared with me that was pegged at the PCs were like 90% discount off the actual price I know. Imagine selling a laptop of 1900 dollars for 130 dollars in the name of discounts and those laptops do not have any warranty and the sellers do not have any physical office.

The other funny thing was that you have to pay completely before delivery meaning the seller can decide to send you the product you did not order for or even ghost you afterwards and you have little or nothing to do since you can not locate them. The tactics like I decided and immediately advised my friend not to buy is that, they will make the items so cheap for you to be fascinated and then ignore you once you made a payment. So, indeed, this is the time to be extra careful of scammers and scam alerts.

While your advice is golden, I can tell you for free that there are those who will still fall for what you've pointed out. To these ones, you're just blinking in the dark. To them, nothing attracts more than pyramid schemes or Ponzi schemes because of the unrealistic ROI they lure people with. Those who subscriber to Ponzi want easy and quick ROI and that's h they fall victims. Now is the time to catch the greedy ones. Scammers know this and will always restrategize their modus operandi for such a time like now.

According to  research, the rate of Bitcoin scams is highest during a bullish season. We are approaching a bullish season so you know what that means. It's not just about the Christmas season. Since most coins are bullish, different forms of scams will be formulated by scammers. They look for different ways to get victims.
One of these ways are shitcoins. They'll preach to you that the coin would be worth x20 in a few weeks or months so you'll buy. It's all bs.

The most common one during a bull run is when a person or a company approaches you claiming to be a crypto investor and wants you to invest with them. They'll give you 20-30% of your investment every 3 months. Does that even sound doable to the lamest of people? Sadly, it works.

December, being the last month of the year that has Christmas and new year celebration is a month that many people get scammed, so it's a time to be very alert and vigilant concerning every financial enticements. Many scammers will want to accomplish the remaining of their new year resolutions, before another new year sets in. Therefore their desperation will increase, and it'll fall on ignorant victims to pay the high prices with their hard-earned money.

We should avoid opening sites from unknown sources, verify every Link that promises to reward you for what you did not apply for, avoid Ponzi schemes of any sort, avoid people that tells you to apply with money to be rewarded by an NGO, because who wants to help you will not tell you to pay money first before receiving help, avoid unknown persons who calls you for help, most are scammers.

The sure thing is, that there will be lots of propaganda and some people who will gonna take advantage of the current hype, to stay away or prevent yourself from becoming a victim of their frauds and scams, you need to have enough knowledge to shield yourself from their sugar-coated worse and false promises. Yesterday I saw a post on social media where they asked for people who were victims of Ponzi Schemes in the past and you cannot believe what I saw, though it's only restricted in our country, the number of victims is huge and some of them even blame bitcoins for their loss without knowing that it's also a victim like them because it was used as a prop to lure them and make them believe that is a way to invest in bitcoins.

Scammers look for greedy people and they will easily know these people based on their aggressiveness and conversation. Scams are everywhere and it is too hard to trust someone online, especially when it talks about investment and money. But I was just wondering why many were still falling into this trap and just wondering why many were still not able to determine if this was a scam offer or not. Some say that a person can't determine if a project is a scam until they experience getting scammed.

Of course this is advice, but you also need to put it into practice too. There are many ways that can be used to stay away from fraudsters, one of which is to do research and don't believe the big profits provided by other people. There are no easy profits from just a little work. there will be challenges of course. Many scammers take advantage of other people's ignorance so that they can get trapped with promises of big profits. Crypto is a place where there are quite a lot of scams, so you need to be careful.
If we talk about the crypto world, of course it won't be far from fraud, in fact they won't be able to trick their victims, just look every year the fraud methods change, starting from telegram bots, chat, phishing. and offers tons of crypto benefits just for doing the job. easy. In essence, they use various methods to trap their victims and are always there at any time, especially when market prices start to rise, the fraudsters will carry out their actions with various kinds of tricks. And it is true as you said, to avoid this we have to be careful and continue to do research or continue to follow crypto developments.

I also often get chats from Telegaram with foreigners, initially they invite acquaintances and claim to be investors and offer various kinds of big profits. This is one of the signs of a fraudster, we have to be careful. Don't be easily tempted by the lure of wealth that is offered because no one gets rich and tries to get rich. There is no such thing

If you are very desperate to get rich and you are also very greedy, impatient, and selfish at the same time, then the person getting scammed is just 5/6. Those kinds of people are what scammers are looking for.
I think the ratio is even higher than that, its 8/6 cos that person is blinded to reality and is living his/her life on fiction and false truths. This is the major loophole maximized by scammers to promise such person unimaginable opportunities and breakthroughs, thereby exploiting his/her vulnerability easily and scamming them finally. One thing that marvels me greatly is how people leave their brains behind while engaging in such schemes, they do not even ask themselves important questions like:
  • Are these companies dully registered with the country's corporate bodies?
  • how do they make their own money?
  • Who are the team behind the project, and how reliable are they?
  • Do they have a feasible money making strategy?
  • is the money they promise you commiserate to the money they make themselves from their activities?
  • do they have proper risk management team?
  • which valid company covers the insurance on the money you invested?
  • their certificate of investment, if there is any, is it valid under the law?

If you are careful enough, you should verify all or most of these points mentioned above to know the authenticity of these companies. They come promising good things and breakthroughs that they themselves couldn't even attain and if you're insensitive of their plans, you will be a cat fish for their pepper soup.

People believe on such things because they want to become rich quickly. These "too good to be true" kind of deals and offers are usually a red flag and it is important to watch out for these.
Online scams are on the rise and more and more middle class people are the victim of these scams because they want to get some extra money for their expenses. Now a days, people are scamming others through email and fake phone calls. Do not share your personal and family information with anyone until it is a certified government department.

Regardless of the season, these scams will always be there. No matter how many of us direct newbies to the light, they will continue to exist.

A continuous drive of campaign and information that gives warning to the new and even the older ones must be done. We can start with our relatives and friends then online friends and so on.

I have my friends again approached me this December asking for specifics about the crypto market and investing on it, and the reason for that, they don't wanna get scammed.

This time around scammers ain't smiling,  they will try all means to drain your hard time earnings because in this season they are alot of desperate people that  want to make it pretty fast with lesser effort. Because of that mind set they have at that moment.  they we then focus their skills in scamming other desperate and greedy people. There's reason they call them greedy   just imagine someone  came to meet you telling you about a way you can a large amount of money using a lesser amount in a short period of time. Without researching nor thinking you just dive in because you also want to earn large amounts of money with lesser effort, is better to manage the little you have than to lose it. If wasn't for greed and desperation you wouldn't have easily fall as victim.
And they will just fail if we have to think about their offer first. Most of the time we take action first before thinking until we find out that we already fall into a scam. Yes, scammer will find their way and by all means, they will get you no matter what. That is how aggressive they are and every mistake we commit a big chance for them to succeed. That is why we have to stay away and never listen to people who talk about investments that offer huge ROI because this is a clear scam trick. In fact, nobody will give you "profit" if you do nothing.

The truth is, they are getting extremely good at scamming, the most popular one is using greed to lure people, and we all know that greed is something that almost all humans have in them, from free offers to fake raindrop links and also fake NFT and tokens sent to your wallet address waiting for you to claim them, little do people know that it's all a big scamming plan, once you try to claim the free things your wallet is a second away from getting drained..

The best advice I can give you is to avoid every possible free stuffs in crypto space, either through mails, messages or PM, or even in your crypto wallet address, do not try to claim any free things, and if you are someone who is deeply into airdrops make sure you don't store any valuable coins or assets on such wallet, use it only for airdrops purposes only.

Your main crypto wallet is meant to stay offline for more safety assurance, you shouldn't use such wallet for any Airdrop tasks or use such wallet to claims and buy stuffs by connecting them to a platform.

Apart from crypto self, in anything you are doing in life, being greedy kills. Most people get scammed because they are to greedy and want to make money with ease. Nothing comes free. When something is too difficult to be real, then run away from it. Although I've been scammed twice even though it not in the crypto space but scam is scam, so I have learnt my lesson.
Yes, exactly. We have to be careful everywhere, including crimes in the crypto world, subtle crimes. There are many ways to do this, and most of those who fall into the trap of these fraudsters are those who are greedy and greedy because this is the main target of the fraudsters.

Those who are greedy will be caught in their seduction by multiplying profits or something similar, in the end we will experience losses or perhaps something even worse. Moreover, fraudsters are now increasingly sophisticated, so it is true that at the end of a year like this, especially when the market is in a good trend, there will be many fraudsters appearing looking for victims, always be careful in everything, especially in the crypto world.

Speaking of flex and looking to fulfill it for the end of the year. It depends on geographical location, in the US the time for the preparation of the new year has passed but in countries mostly Africa this is the moment for their preparation for the end of the year activities.

Mistake of other people is they still believe that there's online platform that can make them rich nor a token with no solid future plan can give them a lot of profit that's why they always been caught up with repeat scams happening in crypto.

If they are just aware on any to good to be true offers or know how to play with the fire on investing on token and don't ask to much for it for sure they can get the best result of their investment but if they became more greedy to ask some huge profit out of it then expect that being scam will be their end point.

To stay away from scam much better if they just go away on obvious scam and don't invest on quick rich schemes.

Yeah, scammers really take advantage when folks get distracted over the holidays.  People let their guard down and they'll click on sketchy links or listen to pitches that seem too good to true.  Can't blame them too much - who doesn't want some extra cash this time of year?

But this time of year brings a chance to reflect on our finances and set some sensible money goals.  Instead of panicking about money when the holidays roll around, we could use this as a jumping-off point to cultivate better financial habits.  It's a chance to educate ourselves, make thoughtful changes, and work toward being in better shape next year.

Scam is just one thing that I have come to realise: scammers don't need any reason for them to start up a scam scheme; it's just their usual business, and that's where most of them feed from. They steal from others in order to feed themselves and their families; it's as bad as that, and they don't care about how the next person they are scamming is going to feel.

So most times it's about greed, or about looking for quick money. Most times it's just about trusting the wrong people, who we should not even trust with a pin in our house, and trusting someone is just all most of these scammers need, as most people don't waste their time or resources on something they know nothing about, but based on who brought that information to them, they have to give a little of their trust to that, and they end up getting scammed along the way.

So to me, anyone who wants to get free from scams should at least have a little trust issue with anyone they have not met before. At least, such precautions can save a lot of people from losing money to strangers.

Thanks for the advice. The increased in number of scams during this period may not really have to do with the hustle and bustle of the end of the year. We are in a time when the space is being flooded with many fake projects because the market is getting bullish. The hype of the bull season is attracting many entrants, more newcomers are coming into the space and scammers will like to play on their ignorance by launching all kinds of pumps and dumps just to rip them off their funds. We should always do due diligence before investing on any project.

Quick money to be able to have a great holiday celebrations is what may lead people into falling for several scams that are already over the place. The holidays is about family. It is not about who is better than the other. It is about family, love and togetherness. There is no one to try to impress because there is always someone who has it better than you.

Do not set unrealistic goal without a tangible plan. A person may set a goal of making $10000 from cryptocurrency before the year runs out and when you ask them how to aim to achieve it, they will tell you that they will invest in some shit coins, memecoins, nfts,  and once it pumps, they cash out. This type of person is only going to set himself up for being a potential scam target.

DO NOT TRUST VERIFY.

Stay safe my friend.
The majority of people that fell for scammers were driven by greed. They decided to invest in a get-rich-quick scheme without knowing or considering the consequences. Fast money is the reason why most people prefer to put money in shitcoins because they assume that Bitcoin is too slow. They want to invest today and make a profit in a few days. I am not moved by the pleasure or fun of the end of the year, hence I don't make investment decisions because of the season. I spend based on my income and I am contended with the little things I can afford. So I am not under any form of pressure because of this festive season.

It has always been recommended that every investor should do comprehensive research on any area of crypto he intends to invest in. Nobody should lure you to invest in what you know little or nothing about. Forget about the hype on diverse social media and other communication platforms. These firms can even hire well-known sportsmen and other celebrities to promote their poorly planned crypto products or services just for the sake of attracting unsuspected investors. Any platform or crypto Investment that promises high returns within a short period should be investigated.

A lot of people are just desperate to make money right now. That's why they always end up being scammed. Scammers are always taking advantage of people's desperation, and they believe the only way people can fall for their lies is by offering them quick money, making them believe they can make the money they haven't made since the beginning of the year, they will be making it within the few weeks left until the end of the year, and they do promise them zero risk being involved. Whenever people who are really in need of money see things like this, they easily believe them and follow what the scammer asks them to do.

Whenever you are into anything, we shouldn't talk about crypto alone. If you are being promised a high reward for an investment, then it's better you do more research on it, because if you don't do more research, you are likely to fall victim. Scammers are always making offers that you will find difficult to reject, but if you make the mistake of accepting them, then your funds are going.

If newbies can understand that nothing comes for free, no free money online it will be difficult for them to fall for scammers.
Scammers will be deceiving newbies with airdrops, and most of them are fake. It's another strategy just to steal from newbies, but we all have to know that there is no free money in the crypto space, if you are making money, then you will have to work for it. We shouldn't fall for the Airdrop scam, most scammers will want to use that to get access to newbie wallets, so if you think you can make free money in the crypto space, then you are wrong, don't fall victim.

Unfortunately, too good to be true is what the rest of our world wants to hear, especially those that are under the radar, they just want to be out so much that, the pressure of getting out clouds there good judgment.
In most cases, they get what they deserve. While a few learn, the rest are always about trying again with yet another scheme. Obviously, these scammers aren’t tired of doing what they do.

The making fast money or getting rich suddenly from a tiny investment is one idea that seems well propagated by cryptocurrency and a lot of people buy that. Entering laziness in the truths of the world to be sold a lie by scammers. You don’t sell truth to buy a lie, it will always result in a gross lose.

Be real in your investment choices and expectation of ROI. It’s the one means to be safe while investing. What you couldn’t archive in the whole 11months, don’t think your likely going to meet a golden opportunity and archive it all in just one month, you could be messed up.

Those scammers will still find their victims from somewhere out there no matter how many posts we make and how much we try to safeguard newbie investors from all these things, the reality cannot be changed and the reality is that most of the new investors in the cryptocurrency industry come with the mindset that they can earn a lot of money in a very short period and it's not their fault for thinking this way because they have been guided this way, or I should say that they haven't been guided well.

So, such posts might help a few who stumble upon them, but most of such scams and scammers will still find people that they can get some money because there will be some people who would believe their words and think that it is possible to get 2 ETH back in a week after investing 0.5 ETH.

If you mean crypto investment, then first investigate the investment opportunity, find the project team behind. So here a critical approach when exploring profits and promises of high percentages is very important to analyze. Don't immediately target to become rich, if I get a little profit from me it's worth it.

Most scammer gives too good to be true offers.  So we better know what are the things considered too good to be true stuff.  Things like doubling our money in just a few days, company that offers high daily interest and people making unbelievable promise of making us gain huge profit by investing on their projects.

In addition here is some information taken on the internet that can help us recognize and avoid scams...

Trust me, the amount of people who are truly desperate in getting rich by investing in ponzi-schemes are rampant during this period given that the next fork is about to happen. I just hope that these newbies and beginners would understand that getting rich is not about cutting corners- it is all about hard work.

If getting rich were that easy, then every cryptocurrency investor would be rich by now. This is the reason on why some fail as an investor and they have nothing to blame but themselves for falling into this very obvious trap that scammers built.

Lastly, if something is really good to be true, then doubt it. Prevention is better than cure- stay away from offers that look very attractive as they are most likely involved in a shady scheme that may left you in danger.

It's such a pathetic experience these days that people are not staying away from scam again, they are the ones going to get being scammed by themselves, they will try all possible and necessary means to ensure that they are being attracted to you, but not everything that looks nice are really going to be nice on us, they can be deceptive, we should also curb the way we get greedy about life, it may be another means to help us stay far away from them if we are not greedy of making money fast.

I will talk about people that are already in crypto field for some time, newbies are so exposed to scam since they don't understand much things about wallets security and avoid attempting tokens investment,etc..
Personally, I have been scammed just lately when I received a job offer and a promise of an interview just before testing their game which was am infected launcher on my computer. Fortunately, I had no assets inside that Metamask wallet. But when I sent some funds not knowing that my computer and specifically that wallet keys were compromised I lost that small amount instantly.
It's not about staying away from scam but it's better to understand how these scammers work and how they plan to avoid them and even report their activities to warn others.

If newbies can understand that nothing comes for free, no free money online it will be difficult for them to fall for scammers. What scammers normally do to get peoples interests is offer free money or something that is very valuable. It will be good of people not to take free gift serious from strangers online. Their is no free gift from strangers it is always a trap and don't  fall for it. Beginners needs to be extremely careful on how they are to inquisitive to become rich so fast.

Stay safe my friend.

I think we can't stressed that enough, we have seen lot of forms and shapes of scam in crypto, impersonations for one like in Twitter, or too good to be true offer like luring you to a investment that will give you huge returns and others.

The best weapon against this scam is to really educate our selves. This should be the first thing that we should learn when we get ourselves involved in crypto. I myself was a victims of such scams as well in the beginning, I don't know if you heard about "bitcoin doubler" before. But when I enter crypto space it is one of the most rampant scams being run but I was gullible as a newbie and like the rest of those who have been a victims, attracted to the huge % that is supposedly be your profits without doing anything in your end. So it's a big lessons for me and I was glad that it did happen early. Now I equip myself with knowledge and promise not to fall for any scams in the future.

It’s the festive season again. Christmas comes with a lot of expenses as it has become a culture to spend lavishly during this period. Scammers take advantage of this season because they know people feel the pressure to make something out of a year that’s coming to an end especially if their goals have not been achieved. They naturally want a success mark for the year, making them vulnerable to high profits investments and money doubling scams.

Indeed, all that shine is not gold, you are talking about phishing attacks and I agree with you that on events like Christmas, Halloween, etc. scammers will try to spread as many phishing links as they can. You might can receive an email from any airdrop that you might have joined a few times back or maybe not joined, but that email will have a Christmas theme and will be saying "You won this prize to claim it click on the link and verify it" etc.

These types of email scams are so common at Christmas and people are in emotion feeling so happy and ignorant that they mostly wear off the thoughts that there is a term scam and we have to avoid it. Scammers are utilizing this emotion of people, mostly of old people because they know this is the right time for grandparents to scam them, as most of the grandparents save money for their grandchild to buy them gifts but when they click on some link send them via email that if they buy this one product they will get 100% discount 50% discount, etc. And they fell for it.

Greed and lost for filthy wealth is what is driving more people to be scammed always. There is a way human mind functions that if you don’t control that greed level, you will always fall victim in hands of scammers and projects they bring to scam people. Before investing, know what you’re putting your money into, calculate the risk involved and be careful when making a quick decision so that you don’t miss out. Most fear of missing out always end in regrets. So take your time to analyse the project, its advantage and disadvantages before putting your money into it.

I would not to let the pressure of this festive period inculcate in us and thereby make us get involved into risky business or make nasty decisions that will make us regret. This festive is a season to celebrate with family and friends not a time to spend so much that you have or the little you gathered through the beginning of the year. Take a chill and relax, let those who have enjoy as it suits them and you who does not have to that extent manage what you have.

Many will want to gamble with their money and many will be deceived by scammers out there, so it is left for us who has understand the kind of season we are, even those scammers are trying their best as well to scam others so they can as well flex this festive period but we shouldn't fall victim of any

We have seen in the past that when bull market starts and the hype over crypto is built up then a dozen scammers pop up everyday phishing for newbies.
People who stay active on this forum have a benefit over others that they know about the various ways scammers use to scam newbies.

Well this is a golden rule anyway. A lot of people forgot that due diligence is important at all. One should always remember how to study and give some deep search on the details ot be able to know if they are joining a legit one or have potential to grow projects. Scammers are with us and o one can stop them from doing that. So we ourselves just make sure to have protection to these kind of people.

Actually, the scammers use that method - that's all, but why are so many people still getting scammed? In fact, in my experience, it's not just beginners who get it, even those who have been in crypto for a long time still get it. Is it true that greed can close our logical thinking? even though usually what scammers laugh at is below market prices, profits of hundreds of percent, and other gold glitter. But why.

If you are very desperate to get rich and you are also very greedy, impatient, and selfish at the same time, then the person getting scammed is just 5/6. Those kinds of people are what scammers are looking for.

Here in my country, from the 4th month approaching to the end of the year, what you will come across is all this get rich quick scheme. The same way someone who is greedy is looking for a way to get it real quick in a shot cut, so are those who are also looking for a way to make it and flex the end of the year big while also drawing their own plans. That's why you see all this scam project scheme bumping up from September to December and those who also want to make it fall for such.

But one thing most people need to know is that what you were not able to acquire for the past 8 months, is it at the end of the year that you will get that rich? There are possibilities of breakthrough in a short period of time, but not in the way they are always chasing after a money-doubling platform, which they end up losing the little they have.

That's the problem with desperate people during this period, they always want to believe in the things that are widely too good to true and that's the whole issue. This is the period when scammers know that people will be crazy to acquire some riches due to the wild spread news of advantages that are open in the crypto space and also because the crypto market has started showing sign of bullish trend so everyone should be cautious and watchful of their greed because they are vulture waiting to prey on their weakness of wanting to get easy passage to wealth and quick profits.
