I believe that this is enough evidence? I created the signature about 10 september, and posted a preview on my page: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.16245632

The url to the signature campaign: https://medium.com/@inchain/signature-campaign-details-3a24aec31c86#.6sbq57y0o

Is this enough evidence?

No worries. The op of the thread just messaged me with the following reply.

Please check this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1639744.0;topicseen and accordingly disqualify the member for blatantly copy-pasting the signature code stolen from someone else who happens to be original creator of that element in the signature.

Cheers!

Thank you for informing me. I ll cancel his entry.

Please lock the thread since your issues is resolved. All you had to do was inform the organizer about this.Cheers!

Yes, thank you everybody for your help Smiley.

It was for a signature contest. This is the link with the signature design: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.16470882. I left a message, but no reaction.

I don't mind if it's copied-and-pasted for personal use, but this was done for commercial purposes.

Oh.. well...

Show to the person in charge (irfan) all the details to support your claims since he needs also some respond to the one that is accused to be fair to both parties. Well I believe in you somehow but to minimize the work and for a quick response, at least you may help the organizer to clear things up.

Stating "that is mine" isn't enough. Well I know you have some ammos there so show them whatever it is.

In the beginning, this wasn't such a problem, since people didn't do this kind of stuff.

Nowadays, I occasionally see signatures with BBCode art that are stolen from other signatures. Let's not call any names here.

Is this allowed? Do we have to put copyright licenses under each signature in order for this not to happen?
Yeah I see that thread that you are talking about https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/signature-design-contest-vdice-crowdsale-only-for-hero-member-1634112 .Im agree that contact the person that stole your design code and told the contest manager to work on that. That is unfair for you its hard to design a signature written in bbcode I know that because im also a signature designer.

Cool. Now could you link to a design which has suffient proofs that is yours and you've created it before it was posted in the above mentioned thread ?

P.S.: I've messaged the campaign creator to disqualify that entry.Let's wait for his reply.

If in a case that people saw a copycat or some close modification to that design, they can call the attention of those people in charge of the competition so that further investigation will take placed and sanctions (lol) will be applied to those guilty.

Much better if both parties can backup their claims for a quick conclusion/s.

There actually was no modification of the part of the BBcode art. To give an example of one, this was copied-and-pasted directly to a new signature:

It took me about an hour to make this, it's a shame if this can just be used in another signature for no effort at all.

What sig campaign or service is that? Please link here.

Could you be more specific and link me to the thread or the guy who developed this signature ? Yes,blatantly ripping off the design like that is not appreciated.Post the details here so I can appropritaley message the designer involved. On your behalf,do link them to this thread.

In case people use them even after mentioning otherwise then you could open a scam accusation.
Not a scam accusation but a thread in reputation .No one is getting scammed here.

While posting those signatures BBcodes , creators never state If other users could use them or not. Most of the time , people who do signature for commercial stuff (advertising their companies) don't steal anything , they make something unique to represent their company (same thing goes for logo's ) .
People who take those signatures are individuals and I personally wouldn't mind If someone take them and use them. If you do mind , then you should simply mention whether people could use them or not , In case people use them even after mentioning otherwise then you could open a scam accusation.
I agree that this kind of stuff hurt people who are offering services for designing signatures in the forums .

I wouldn't call it stolen because it is open source on every signature thread, but what people do is modifying these signature codes and 'generate' a new one. Who would mange the copyright licenses, what happens to the guy who modified it?

There is nothing you could do about it.If you are taking part in a signature design competition, you might have posted a design before anyone else did,in that case, whoever has replicated the design or even taken the source and modified it should be disqualified from the contest..As easy as that, you just need to bring the issue in front of the campaign organizer. You cannot copyright something you don't own.
