This should be in the Altcoin boards.

The chances of someone earning a good amount over there is however very low.

I believe you have to up vote their post so they do get paid per view.
I hear that bloggers also can be making some good amounts of steem if they have alot of followers on reddit or facebook the two social media sites that they are connected to for signing up a steemit account with.

Upvoted users get rewards in STEEM POWER and in STEEM DOLLAR. SP can not be spent directly, it's for long-term holding, SD can be sold for STEEM or BTC and can be converted into SP. Having STEEM POWER gives your vote more weight. Voting also gives you rewards especially if you vote early on a content that will be popular in the future.

Here is a post I just wrote https://steemit.com/steemit/@kaicrypzen/bitfinex-hacker-gives-away-1000-btc, feel free to up vote and share Wink.

I didn't hear about that advantage for facebook/reddit users with lots of followers.

If you haven't heard about Steemit.com yet, you should check it out. It is a blockchain based social media site that actually pays its users in an alternate currency coin (called "Steem") based on the quality/popularity of their content.

I am a huge fan of the Bitcoin based casino/MMORPG game called "Dragon's Tale", and have been playing it for many years. I decided to write-up an article on Steemit about it. Check it out!
