I can't make a sticky thread because I'm not staff or a moderator, but I can put [Sticky] in the subject line! :D
Gift cards sold at less than face value are almost always* ultimately bought with stolen credit/debit cards because criminals can afford to sell at "a loss" since it's not their own money.
Caveat emptor poenam.
*Except in case of discounted cards we can all see the source of the discount noted on official websites or apps, like Vons' when they were selling GAP brand gift cards for 20% off and other limited exceptions.
