User #35 is Theymos. I was under the impression that the deletion log lists the users who have been banned. Isn't that the case?

I was testing something. I'm not banned now. Smiley

#theymos , I suggest (if it is possible) to add also the date on the left side.

Dates and times were intentionally left out.

Can I ask you : Why ? Is it for the users security ?

Mostly to prevent people from using the information to track down which moderator is doing what, some like to harass them over it.

This thread is a good recent example. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/can-the-mod-who-deleted-my-post-in-services-thread-contact-me-769002

Maybe it was a  only a test  for see if the ban function works.

Autoban is a ban applied by global mods or admins using the ban button in their profile, as opposed to manually in the admin panel. It's just the name of that particular tool.

Ban durations vary, first time offenses are usually 3-5 days, sometimes 7-10 if it's excessive. Further bans depend on time since last ban, whether the violation is the same or similar, how much that user contributes, how long they've been here, etc.

There are typically two tiers for sig spammers (or activity/post count farmers). First time 7 or 14 days, second time 14/30, third probably permanent.

Autoban is probably users signing up on a banned connection, but I could be wrong.
Nuked is when a mod bans a user and deletes all their posts.
A user is banned for breaking the rules.
All different. Bans can range from a few days to a month or more, and users get them for breaking the rules. Usually your first ban will be a few days or a week.
You can contest it by emailing the provided email address or PM-ing an admin, but you're very unlikely to have it lifted either way.

Hi,

I recently came across the deletion log
https://bitcointalk.org/modlog.php

Is there a thread which explains the following
- Autoban
- Nuked user
- What could result in a user getting banned?
- What are the different periods for which a user may get banned (and for what offences)?
- How does a user contest a ban?

If there is a thread, should it be a sticky thread? I had a look at the forum moderation policy thread (here), but it doesn't seem to have this information.
Apologies if there is an existing thread which I have missed.
