As FirstAcsent said, its perverts and snoops are the problem spies.  Private detectives track people's cars with GPS tools for divorce investigations.  We have seeing more and more cases of hotel owners that set up hidden cameras in their rooms.  Once the ability to attach a camera to a small drone is cheap enough, we are all going to have to spend money on privacy tools for use inside our own homes.

We need bug zappers and EMP weapons.

And that will cost you money that you weren't paying before.

That's only the tip of the iceberg. This is the real deal: http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2012/03/ff_nsadatacenter/all/1

However, there is a line in 'The Incredibles' that goes something like this: "When everyone is special, then nobody is special." The takeaway is, when every word everyone says is recorded, it means they're attributing no significance to what you're saying over anyone else (unless you're really discussing nasty things).

Do you really want to get pissed off and scared? Then consider the following. Hovering insect sized spybots will likely infest your home in the future, and it won't be the government's spying that will give you cause for alarm. It will be the fact that it may be your neighbors and enemies and companies you patronize which are the ones doing the spying on every private moment of your life.
