i found it annoying duckduckgo was bundled as many default search providers in some linux distros. They seemed to market it very hard... i prefer startpage.

Google is the best search engine, all the others are bad at finding results.

unfortunately hes right, google has the best search engine so far (tough it got worse since last years).

startpage and duckduckgo quote their results from google.

duckduckgo hidden service is still trusted. They cannot trace You trough Tor more than anybody else. Creating new identity after each search will prevent linking your searches trough that cookie.

Hell even Google can be almost as good if they had .onion address.

Never tried DuckDuckGo, StartPage/Ixquick seems to work fine for what I need though wish the image search could be improved a bit.
