I think you are very correct. Many of these scammers mostly act like a newbie seeking for help. Sometimes when I see them writing in a telegram group like they don't understand crypto, you might be deluded and want to help them when it is very clear that they are scammers acting like they don't know how to swap their coins from a particular chain to the chain they want it. People that do not understand or know about this method of scamming might be tempted to fall for the scam. One just have to be very conscious and make sure that we read books and check for new pattern many of these scammers are using to scam people that might not be as obvious as we may think.

Scammers discover new methods every day. Who knew that scammers will pretend to be a crypto noob who does not understand much about crypto? They even spread malware to victims' devices by asking them to download a specific wallet software and links are given by the scammers. Asking for help to withdraw the crypto funds is a very old method. But they have polished it further and make it different this time. Previously they were sending message to a random person saying I am in a vacation or I do not have the fees to withdraw the funds. Please go to this website and login there with my email and password, you will be able to withdraw the funds after depositing the transaction fees. LOL. I guess you heard about it before.

Ignore strangers is a good prevention.

If you receive DMs from strangers which relate to money and "Too good to be true" offers, be more careful and don't send your money first to those strangers, you will lose your money.

Don't click on any link sent by strangers.
Don't download anything, any file sent to you by strangers.

Be careful and be wise when you are on the Internet and in cryptocurrency space.

You can customize your account settings and disable Automatic download file, images like on Telegram.
Some of their messages come with a veiled threat, giving you a short time frame and sometimes might come in the form of helping you by sending you some phishing mails, you have to be extremely careful and thorough.
Abstainance is key, Just ignore messages or mails you didn’t initiate

Beginners or people who are really greedy and want instant results are usually one of the easiest targets for scammers. especially if the scam project is under the guise of hype coins and is spread or promoted by certain influencers, oh never mind, this will be very easy to reach even more people.

Meanwhile, we cannot prevent scams. That's why we ourselves have to anticipate it so that it's not too easy to get caught in a scam. Yes, vigilance and not easily trusting people in the crypto world is very necessary and very important.

Scammers not only convince people to invest in certain projects, but they also trick people into falling for their scams. For example, if they can understand that you are not going to fall for their investment scam, they may try to trick you. There are some phishing scams which they try to apply for different users. For example, they will send you a message and they will act like they are crypto newbie and they will ask you if you can help them to withdraw their funds. A couple of months ago, a scammer asked me If I could help him withdraw his funds from his trust wallet. He ask me to download the trust wallet and import his seed phrases and withdraw the funds to his wallet. Of course he had some bad intention. Nobody is going to give their seed phrases if there is no benefit for them. I had to deny him.

I want to believe that people are already aware of a lot about those old crypto scams. But the scammers now coming with new tricks everyday to fool people. They come up with projects like could mining and similar things. You should always do your own research.
It cannot be denied that social media is a platform that is very vulnerable to the development and number of scams that have occurred so far. Because, they can easily reach lay people or beginners in crypto more quickly and easily. There are many methods used by scammers, both modern ones and types of scams that have been going on for a very long time. And there are still people who are trapped by this scam. Unfortunately it never seems to stop.

This is the time we're scammers are beginning to show case their intellect in trying to scam people by all means, yes they are smart but we need to be smarter than them. I am happy for OP creating this awareness as many might have not heard of this tactics which they now deploy to scam people.

The worst of them can be that of airdrop, still in shock as many people still desire to do airdrop, some even engage in airdrop with their wallet which they used in holding their investment and some still give access to this scammers very bad. We should be ready at all times to know when conversing with a scammer and avoid giving any valid information that will cost us our money.

Caution should always been our heart beat when operating on some unknown link mostly when is coming from social media platform because most of the scammers it's there root and source of operations.
One just need be careful because there nature if operations has no season, though we can say that they operate most when the see rises bin the crypto space but there pattern has changed they work with all season they are working out different modelity just to capture their victims but one must also be tactical enough to identify them before time by always awaking the caution spirit of avoiding airdrop on social media such as telegram, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc except the project or airdrop is from a trusted person or source.

Spending time on social media is a waste of time unless you have an important task to do there. You should set your privacy settings so that strangers cannot send you a private message. But even if they send, you should not respond to them. If you get offers that sound like it's too good to be true, don't fall for that. You should know that it's all scam.

Here I agreed about this even this is not only waste of time its also creating feud in life as well which I recently check too many youngsters are having troubling life just because of this social media even we are also having many positive aspects as well but still life is not easy due to this because few scammers are creating lucrative ideas and things which are having eye side of the many new generation peoples, and then they are trying to achieve them.
In most chances things like these are not having any solid base or project but due to these scammers it's circulating and then having some negative aspects which are giving headache to families and communities, but sadly we are fail to stop them due to beyond boundaries.

There is a lot going on in the crypto space now and one has to be very careful about it because if we don't take a good approach being the sie guy, we might lose our funds to scammers. Scammers are working very hard to make money from cryptocurrency investors that know nothing about their skill. We can make money in the market and we should also know we can  lose the same money if we are not very conscious of the tricks mostly used by scammers. We have to read news and get information about how scammers could lure us to get our funds.

Once anyone decides to invest in cryptocurrencies, one of the first things they should take seriously is security education. It is worrisome to see newbies who have no clue about what they are investing their money into jump freely into the arms of scammers who offer to help them achieve financial freedom through crypto. How would this newbies know how to protect themselves and their investments from scammers when they know very little about safety and security in the crypto world. Investing in cryptocurrency is good, but why the rush to make profits immediately? A lot has been going on and scammers won't stop anytime, this is why we have to be vigilant and most importantly see all strangers as suspects until you are able to prove beyond doubts that a particular stranger is not.

The best thing to do not to fall as prey into the hand of scammers is to just avoid every stranger and not aiming to earn profit by all means.   People who mostly fall into the hands of scammers are those that are very desperate to make money. Trading and investment is personal and no one can assist in making it better, you can only make it better for yourself by trying to know things by yourself. That is why it is important to make research to understand things to make it impossible for strangers to come up with their scam trick .
Thank you so much with this kind of your advice. A word is enough for the wise. you have said it all. If everyone could follow this your advice, he or she will never fall victim of being scammed by scammers. Because you will have your own knowledge, you will know how it being operated, you will also know the ways, manners and tricks which scammers follow to scam innocent people. so you can not be able to be duped easily.

Newbies and beginners greatest enemy in crypto space is strangers, this is not a field where you get PM from friend of a friend who want to hire you because you have a skill that they need or something else, total strangers online are creepy as hell, don't even try giving them any attention.

From my past experiences with strangers online, they always have a plan to get the best out of use, either by scamming you or using you, some will pretend to be different but their true color will eventually be shown to you, they are literally looking for stupid people to take advantage of, since 2017 I have never seen stranger that DMed me with just pure mind and no evil plan in mind.

It's better to ignore any stranger, chance your app security settings, they won't be able to get to you unless you are the one that PM them first, strangers don't always have the best interest in mind.

Desperation is all root of failures. we should not be so desperate to earn money by all means. Life is a gradual process. And since everything has time, with time you would get to where you want to go to. our destiny are not the same. the difference between here and there is T which is time. so, especially when you meet any stranger, don't be eager to share your private account code with him irrespective of what you are told by him. To avoid regret at the end. Although you are free to choose but when choosing, choose wisely because of the possible consequence.

The time has come when understanding crypto in detail and DYOR more than earlier has become a necessity. If you don't understand anything happening in the market then stay away and do not become greedy to ride the wave. Things are not so good as they were earlier post 2021.

This is the smartest idea I've heard lately. You are right; now there are a lot of telegram groups and various YouTube videos that regularly publish their profits, as well as supposedly closed groups that will help those who make an initial or monthly contribution.
I once fell into such a scam, although it was long ago. I did not see any difference between the information that was published openly and that which was in the closed group. But it affected my wallet.
Now I perceive any hint of bonuses and lessons on how to make good money with extreme skepticism. However, if scammers are still active, people are also falling into their traps. And talking about your investigation when a person does not understand anything does not sound entirely reliable.
Therefore, yes, it is better not to go where we are empty of knowledge now.

Another one would be a pump and dump group showing you how much they make a profit everyday through paid signals
In the end it would be a project copying others or a new one trying to cash on the trend.

After having a bad experience and losing the hands of these pump-and-dump groups, I swear to myself not to trust them anymore and not to trust someone who talks amount of money saying huge huge ROI after a few days of investing. This is the usual trick of scammers and we can see a lot of them in social media, particularly in telegram groups. We must be careful of someone (strangers) who shoots a message claiming he is an expert and tried to help for free because, in the end, this person will ask for something in return.

We have to learn from the people who have experience with this, we don't need to experience it before realizing that we are wrong.

Research is the key. If you want to succeed on crypto and gain decent profits, then establish knowledge and develop certain skills that are highly needed to make you successful. Do not rely on the people you found online that guarantee your success in crypto. Remember, strangers are more likely scammers, they will continue to deceive you until you end up convinced and agree on them. When you do that, you are not losing the opportunity to make you real rich, but you are giving them the big chances to make them rich because of you.

Invest in crypto with caution. But invest in your knowledge first above everything.

The dilemma of most users is that they easily jump on hyped up things for the idea of generating high profits.
So they are forgetting the basic thing of research and at least educate themselves what the project is all about.
Sometimes, they don't even read the project's mission or target objectives anymore, but they only check the charts in a hurry to gain profitss.
You can't understand market performance if you are blind with what's going on behind the project's developments.

Results constantly shown will always be enough to tempt people with weak minds because even though they try to ignore it and avoid that first but do not run and exit it themselves from such groups with emergency, when these scammers who are admins of these groups continue posting these results, and then get some fake members to act like they have had their results and make comments, the opinions and mindset of the unbelieving will begin to change slowly until they are convinced enough to make themselves vulnerable to these scammers.

Do not wait before this happens to you and see yourself as a prey to scammers. But do your own diligence to research and study until you find out and understand the main concept in crypto. Crypto is not made to make us instantly rich and wealthy. There are steps and processes to make it happen but everything takes time.

Now, if these scammers have tried to convince you that success becomes easier and faster if you follow them, then definitely that's a big scam. There's no shortcuts to success but you have to learned and take the process step by step, otherwise you will end up using up all your funds and regret why you let yourself fooled by them.

Know what you are doing and know who you are dealing and trusting. If you easily trust and rely on other people, you will only get scammed in the end. Scamming is very rampant with regards to crypto and these people will do everything to make us fall into their traps. But we can totally avoid it if we have adequate knowledge in crypto.

Paid channels or apps are not made for us to reach our crypto goals, but it's there to make them take advantage on us by buying on their app or channel. With the use of AI, it even make their jobs easier to take an edge over us. But if we stick to our own knowledge and  established insights about crypto based from our own research, we will never easily fall on their traps.

With pump and dump groups, people never learn. These are the groups that's been made by those leaders that are pumping the altcoins that they are following or probably have been made. With people following blindly, they're only helping these leaders or organizers make themselves rich.

The first thing I learnt about bitcoin security should be our first priority, bitcoin is a modern technology and anything associated with the internet scammers will always find new method to scam, unknown contact trying to offer juicy offer sounds suspicious at the first place, if those offers were true no one would have contacted anyone. And times like this have seen a lot of influencers who claim to know about crypto organizing sites that discuss about bitcoin and crypto, I still don't listen to such. The best thing is to ignore such offers, people still falling victim to those scammers, if topics like this are been treated often about scammers and juicy offer then why do people fall victim, maybe they fall to understand, although most people get excited with offers like this and unknowingly they give out their private information.
It starts from us that we shouldn't be too entertaining to unknown people. And with the obvious about security, it should also be known to us that we shouldn't be someone who's careless that keeps on clicking unknown links and filling up websites that are randomly found.

The biggest one would be to make you realise that you can use multiple avenues for your portfolio to get a big push, if you allow them to handle it. Next, it would be airdrops which will ask you to surrender your Private Key in the end after going  through their requisite.

This should be the first sign of a red flag from a random user. The moment they ask you if they could handle your finances, this should definitely spark a red flag that what they are offering is a scam especially during this bullish run.

For best measures, you can take and consider their advice but never let them handle your finances personally.

Again, I agree with this statement.

Pump and dump schemes is like the oldest trick in the book wherein a seemingly genuine project will just suddenly run with the money after investing.

In the current scenario when AI has the ability to swap face and make it sound like an original influencer or a celebrity talking. It is better to research before you invest to gain double or triple multiplier. The best you can do is to avoid them.

As someone who has been reporting scams for the past years, if I see computer-generated/AI photos, this is an instant call out from me. AI-generated photos are definitely a red flag that can mislead its customers especially if the creators make it appear that their project is composed of highly-acclaimed cryptocurrency enthusiasts but in fact are not real.

I can't tolerate any dms from any stranger at all... If I don't know the source of the dms/links, I'd simply ignore and move on... people are likely to get into trouble for being enticed on things they see over the internet... I seen alot of post about internet fraud and their new avenues; anyone can possibly be victimized but,..that's why you need to keep your corners clean...

secondly, I don't accept offers that are brought to me ... If it's actually a type that'll pay me at the end ....why?? ain't nobody would prefer bringing an offer to you for free without having hidden interest... They can sometimes try to encourage/help you to register on an unknown site.. I don't entertain such discussions.. so far,.. I've been free from fraudulent activities like that...

As the USD value of Bitcoin rises, you would now come accross numerous posts accross multiple social media platforms and Chat apps. They as in the the scammer would offer anyone with lucrative offers.
This is what we should expect as the bull season is quickly approaching. Due to the bullish trend, most project owners are waiting for the bull season to launch their projects, and like shrewd scammers, they are also waiting for this time to use their scam techniques because they know it is the ideal moment to target their victim.

Many individuals are investing a lot of money in the cryptocurrency business at this moment because everyone wants to take advantage of the market opportunity. Scammers will then use deceptive information and attractive incentives to get people to engage in their fraudulent ventures. Investments that seem too good to be true should always raise suspicions, and those kinds of ventures should be avoided.

The time has come when understanding crypto in detail and DYOR more than earlier has become a necessity. If you don't understand anything happening in the market then stay away and do not become greedy to ride the wave. Things are not so good as they were earlier post 2021.
Most individuals go into cryptocurrency because of what they are told, and without doing their own research, they simply do what they are told and invest in coins because a friend told them to. Investing due to FOMO is a horrible idea, as is investing because you are told to do so; the industry is a place to invest with precaution.

I am a beginner and this is my first post.

I believe I've been scammed from last months. This is difficult to expose my situation in a Forum. But that's it, I doing it now.
Unfortunately I did not follow all rules and all advises listed here and other forums.

In my case it is an Exchange Trade Company site.  Till today I was not able to find any information if the site is a Scam/fake or not. I did several searches on Bitcoin Forums and on Official Authorities.

I do not know the rules of this Forum, so I do not know if I can put here the name of the Exchange Trade Company.

Is there any list of Scammed Exchanges Companies that I could really check it the exchange company that I put the money is a scammer?

Thanks in advance.

It's best to stick to what you are doing and avoid any unnecessary chats with crypto strangers.
That we would eliminate half of the scams approaching us. Also, we have to stay with the trend and keep reading news.
By doing that we can stay up to date with latest scams and hacks. Yes, we have to do our due diligence to save ourselves from scams.

What you suggest is so easy to do, so effective to avoid being scammed, and still so hard for many people...
We like when people tell us things we want to hear, but scammers know it and they will use it against us, so it is a good policy to not answer to unknown people, especially if they want to make you an unsolicited favor. They are ubiquitous in Telegram, Twitter... even in WhatsApp lately (where the hell did they get my personal phone number? damn leaks).

We all want to know new people in the cryptosphere, especially when we are new and want to find your place, but especially in that case one should be the one contacting interesting people, and not the other way around.

Intriguing offers by scammers usually can be seen posted on social media and they think they can get a lot of newbie investors there since not all people on social media site know that they are running a scam activities. So its really ideal to anyone that if they have doubt on some offers presented to them better decline it and do their study after they hear those messages so that they can figure out if what offer they receive is legitimate or even not.

The biggest one would be to make you realise that you can use multiple avenues for your portfolio to get a big push, if you allow them to handle it. Next, it would be airdrops which will ask you to surrender your Private Key in the end after going  through their requisite.

Airdrops is risky venue for newbie to earn free money so they need to be aware that there's no legit institution that will ask their private key if someone telling that to them and offer something crazy then they should decline it since nothing is good with them as they are only going after with our money which we can afford to risk.

Another one would be a pump and dump group showing you how much they make a profit everyday through paid signals

I participate on groups like this but to be honest I didn't get anything as the people handling that channels is just trying to earn from the people they invite to join. I doubt there's accurate or good prediction comes from this group so we should avoid to waste our time and focus on other investments.

I have long abandoned this kind of method and am now much more focused on adding to my portfolio independently without involving other people with various projects offered through free ones. What I see is that we will be stronger when we have the knowledge to come to this system and the easiest way is just to spend money to run it, although we don't ignore the risks that will occur.

This is more about a person's level of understanding to be involved in investing or it could also be directly related to trading. Yes, there are many people who are trapped by signals from certain groups regarding pump and dump, but they forget that our presence here must be based on knowledge so as not to be trapped by any offers from other people.

The time has come when understanding crypto in detail and DYOR more than earlier has become a necessity. If you don't understand anything happening in the market then stay away and do not become greedy to ride the wave. Things are not so good as they were earlier post 2021.

There is a ride way to be greedy to become profitable in gambling but you have to be educated and wise, there are so many wolves that are in sheep's clothes with so many schemes and they intend to take your money, so if you cannot moderate your greediness and you are profit driven in a wrong way you will lose everything you've worked.
So always think, ask the community for feedback, and do your research don't just believe what these influencers are saying, they are self-serving and they are greedy for profit at your own expense.

Social media like X, I don't pay much attention, because I understand their purpose is to seek personal gain at the expense of others, how talking about quick profits easily manipulates newcomers to the market and FOMO following the price increase.

Although it must be fair that FOMO is also attracting money into the market, making things more exciting, we should also be more clear about the risks.

In addition, fraud is becoming more and more sophisticated when malicious code appears. There are ways that I see platforms willing to spend money to run ads just to spread malicious links. Perhaps it will cause harm and cause misunderstandings for newcomers. The caution with this market is to upgrade over time, and don't believe in any advice, but do your own research. Sometimes even luck helps us find good friends to share knowledge that protects against what is emerging.

So you have seen this kind of ads already! well, it's good to know that we are not still in that point where we aren't able to differentiate what is real from what is fake. Thank you for your testimony, Learn Bitcoin.
I am glad that I have spent considerable time on my desktop screen over the last ten years to understand what is fake and what is real. The problem is that a lot of people won't understand the difference. I was looking at the lip-synching, and it looked almost real. The movement of his body and hands were repeated in the same position.

I remember when one of my friends, who is a Tylor, said he would invest in a website because he saw Sakib promoted that website. Fortunately, he shared with me, and I kicked his ass first and then told him that those were fake ads.

Wow! have you seen cases like that? People talk a lot about deep fake but afaik it is easy to detect whether a video is real or generated by a computer, looking at the detail (like something strange in the eyes, hair, ears...).

Porfirii, I don't know about him. But, believe me, I saw a casino ad this morning on Facebook, and I was laughing. Because It was Shakib Al Hasan's deep fake video where the voice was robotic. He was saying that Bangladesh gives a license to a casino to operate and he is the brand ambassador. I knew it's fake and I skipped it.

So you have seen this kind of ads already! well, it's good to know that we are not still in that point where we aren't able to differentiate what is real from what is fake. Thank you for your testimony, Learn Bitcoin.

In a few years, when Hollywood-like quality is available for every children in their personal computers, then we'll have to worry. In the meantime critical sense, attention to detail and not believing what sounds too good to be true are a good start to not fall in these fakes.

You really hit the nail on the head but having a second thought, I know the best thing is to do your own research and not rely on others to tell you what to do with your investments but having a mentor who is an expert in the field would play a vital role in helping you to make a right decision. I'm not saying one should trust a random person that approach them on internet or elsewhere but someone who you personally know and you think they have the knowledge of what you need. Despite doing your own research, you need someone to explain certain things for better understanding but one must be careful on who to trust on the internet.

Do not trust anyone but only yourself. Anyone that offers instant help and would make you believe that you can make unlimited profits, that is clearly a big scam. When this happens, just leave immediately or block them so they won't create future communication with you. Paid groups or channels are sometimes scams as well. You really don't know if they are profitable on their own, so just avoid this kind of groups or channels.

I have numerous of them on my block list now and more will join because we are in the era they mostly operate. Don't ever trust anyone that approach you first for any kind of financial discussion or assistance. Remind them that they have family and friends and they should start from there. I really like how exchanges and financial institutions operating their social media platforms with the policy of "we will never message you first" but some gullible and desperate people still fall for this when someone approach them first and claim to be a representative of a company and ready to offer assistance. If you can not withstand the pressure and their deceit, kindly use block button to avoid further discussion with them.

Having AI makes more scamming possible. It's good to be acquainted with the technologies around, but sometimes you have to consider the risk as well so you won't fall into being the victim of scam.

As the USD value of Bitcoin rises, you would now come accross numerous posts accross multiple social media platforms and Chat apps. They as in the the scammer would offer anyone with lucrative offers.

The biggest one would be to make you realise that you can use multiple avenues for your portfolio to get a big push, if you allow them to handle it. Next, it would be airdrops which will ask you to surrender your Private Key in the end after going  through their requisite.

Another one would be a pump and dump group showing you how much they make a profit everyday through paid signals
In the end it would be a project copying others or a new one trying to cash on the trend.

In the current scenario when AI has the ability to swap face and make it sound like an original influencer or a celebrity talking. It is better to research before you invest to gain double or triple multiplier. The best you can do is to avoid them.

Bitcoin will experience a halving event, and it is certain that the price will increase drastically, so there will be more and more fraudsters who use Bitcoin as an excuse to gain personal profit. with the increasingly frightening development of AI, there are many faces that fraudsters can imitate, and the faces that fraudsters use most often are those who are very influential like Elon Musk.
Therefore, if someone claims free things like free bitcoin or other free altcoins, never believe it, always verify it first, don't believe it easily, especially if someone offers you help on the internet, the point is, never believe anyone, you can become a victim if you are too nice to new people you meet on the internet or popular social media.

I have been saying it for years and will say it again, nothing is free in this world. Even the water bottles costs nowadays. If you think someone will charge $200 and get your Portfolio to 5 figures without you working hard, it's most likely a scam. Most likely? Definitely a Scam. Never get involved in any of these sort of projects which charge you and guarantee you some profits.

The best thing is not to ask anyone through any social media platform but rather do personal searches and find the answer. In many cases happen that those people who have helped us, chatting with us are also the ones who took advantage while entrusting him and scam us in the end. Scammers usually are very responsive and feel close to us until such time that our trust develops and use that as a tool to scam. Those who have not experienced yet, better be watchful of whom they talk to and of course, must have set a gap from strangers because we never know their real intentions from helping us.

Scammers make use of every tool at their disposal to convince their targets that they are genuine, I’m not surprised that AI is being exploited in such cases. There are AI bots that mimic voices exactly like the human voice that you can hardly tell the difference. In such cases, scammers often camouflage as a famous person and send dms to their fans who in turn are too excited to think straight. When in this situation, ask yourself why would Elon Musk send me a personal message encouraging me to invest in a platform? How often does that happen in real life?

It's better to ignore any stranger, chance your app security settings, they won't be able to get to you unless you are the one that PM them first, strangers don't always have the best interest in mind.

It is better to ignore a stranger that is the best thing anyone can do, but what about the stranger contacting you representing a famous influencer? For example, let's take Elon Musk who is very active on his bought platform X.com. He is always trying to manipulate the crypto market with his tweets, knowing a tweet came out from his handle about a meme coin, a scammer would recreate the same product on both the Ethereum blockchain, BSC, and as of now Bitcoin blockchain.

For Ethereum and BSC, we know how to verify, but what about Bitcoin blockchain? Is there any way to cross-check a project? I am not aware of such a thing and that is the reason I have asked this question. In recent times the amount of spam created by Ordinals is beyond anyone's control and the way developers are reacting gives me a bad omen is coming soon.

people with greed for free money online are the common victims of these scammer aside from those that fall out of mistake due to a security breach. If you want to survive and stay out of loss to scammers in the crypto space you have to learn to exercise patience and do a research about the authenticity of any offer you receive or see online from strangers, if possible resist or ignore all DM's from strangers offering some financial deals that appears to good to be true, better to ignore than test the waters you might not be able to stomach the loss.

Just like on telegram I have been receiving frequent strange messages from strange groups unknown to me about some token splash with a provided link that I should visit and follow the registration process where I have to deposit certain amount of cash for some newly listed token and later earn back in higher profit 3x of what amount I deposit.

Now how does this make sense to someone like me that's sane and abreast all round about this schemes. An unpopular adage says, when a snake bites you next time you see a black rope you will run.

This is what I'm trying to prevent for myself, knowing that it's "weird" to see some famous people promoting stuff that probably is not aligned with what they are famous for or something, people should be careful with that.

Too good to be true things are not worth too much of an effort if you see so many problems or red flags with it. Better to know who you are talking to before you get attracted to the scam or something.

Basically, everyone can avoid scams. But unfortunately, many people fall into scam schemes just because they have such high dreams and the desire to get money as quickly as possible. Nowadays, it's not just about AI projects that may be or will be hyped. But also various other types of hype projects that make big promises to their candidates. And the most victims are beginners...

Scams can be avoided as long as we understand what we are investing in and understand the situation which may seem more than normal. Scam schemes will usually be the same or similar, so we should be able to learn from other experiences. Do DYOR which will definitely be very helpful. and also carry out analysis and discussions with other people so that at least we can be more alert to various possible scams.

It would be better if you just ignore them specially if you have zero knowledge of what are they trying to present to you.
Pump and dump is not new in crypto its been going on for years, and there will always be a person be left behind, once they are done with he project, to jump to another one.
Agree with you that you should study where you're money is going, don't let showing their profit distract you since that is what is doing for you to just pour the money for them to collect and leave you empty handed.

I have received PM numerous times but I didn't take notice of them especially in Telegram where many scammers stay and finding their next victim. As you can read in the first post in your thread where ignoring strangers is a good prevention. This is te very same thing in health problems which I am sure you know it "prevention is the best medicine" or prevention is the best cure". Many people may get relevant information from social media but there's also scammers that spread misinformation and other ways that they can think of just to scam people or fool proof.

Some people usually attest that they get relevant information from social media but I think that we have more scam projects on these platforms. Except the information is from the verified handle of a reputable player in the crypto space, I don't take such news seriously. It is wrong to believe everything you see on social media without doing thorough research from other genuine sources. I don't give so much attention to social media because I rely on this forum for most of my information. If I don't understand anything, I will bring the discussion to the forum and I am sure to get the best explanation. Generally, if you can control greed, you will hardly be a victim of these get-rich-quick scam projects.

As a newbie, we easily become victim of such offers, we think we can get 1 btc at the price of $42k while the current price is around $44k. We became greedy and paid the amount and all we get is nothing but a block. Therefore never gave your money to someone, instead use it by yourself and trade in BTC using any exchange.
The biggest one would be to make you realise that you can use multiple avenues for your portfolio to get a big push, if you allow them to handle it. Next, it would be airdrops which will ask you to surrender your Private Key in the end after going  through their requisite.
I don't think it would be of any use for the victim who has already given his or her funds to some scammer to handle as a financial advisor or consultant, because if that person already has our funds then why would he will give us back even if we give them our private key, and why would we trust that after giving the private key our funds will be returned. So, the neat and clean answer is we should not trust financial advisor at the first place, even if they are giving us huge profits, or hints, or even made us profit 2 or 3 times. They try to make you profit 2 or 4 times, so after sometime you come up with big amount and then they knock on you.
Another one would be a pump and dump group showing you how much they make a profit everyday through paid signals
In the end it would be a project copying others or a new one trying to cash on the trend.
I have seen a thread made by some member here on BTT talking about shilling in LTC and said it will go up, there are many other groups on TG that we can find where admins are sharing shilling time and token, the risk is higher but many make profit too, you have to be quick if you want to make profit but in most cases you don't make profit.

I mostly receive many emails many PM's in Telegram. They all just try to catch me but I have much experience about them. If you will chat to anyone they will ask to open a link or will ask to send money and they say they will double your money with in one hour or two or may be in 10 minutes.
I remember one of my Friend was talking a scammer on WhatsApp. My friend is innocent and don't have much knowledge about crypto. The scammer was showing him watch only address and saying I have mined these BNB coins for you but it is asking for fee and if you will pay fee I will send it to you. He showed me the situation when I saw the screenshot of the wallet so I asked him to block this person and I requested him if you receive any kind of message from stranger who is talking about crypto so tell me first and then tak any action.

Means when they message to anyone and talk to him/her so they read the mind of the client. And attack according to their mind. So we should always be careful about this.

If someone approaches you with any of the apps that you're using and they're a total stranger to you, don't entertain them. Especially, when they already trying to introduce some money making machines. Because with that, that's already one of the signs that they're talking to the wrong person but sadly, they might come up with another victim.

The best that you can do is to block them and they will keep coming back with a new account or numbers. It will never stop once your contacts are already into their database and much worse if they're going to sell that DB to the other scammers. Most likely, it's being sold already and many have taken our contacts so if you are fine with continuous blocking of them, just do it and never give them your time by replying anything to them.

Just don't do give them the opportunity to talk to you and most newbies should do this. Because if you've been aware of their schemes, you're unlikely going to fall for it but this concern is for those newbies so, I hope that all of you that are reading will take care of yourselves and will take note of the tips everyone is giving here.

I don't think Airdrops will get more newbies this season because I believe almost all of us hear know that 70-80% of Airdrops are mostly scam, they are using it as an avenue to get popular and used the newbies as their promotion channel and still scam them by compromising the wallets they submit to see if they can move their coins.

Most good projects that have future don't normally use airdrops as a means of advert again because people will not take them serious; therefore, all newbies should avoid airdrops.

Greed is what lead some newbies to fall for all these hyped trades, some of our newbies are looking for shortcuts to make money as a result of that, they tends to skip the learning and go for signals been hyped by scammers just to collect their money which mostly end up in a regret.
If we remove been greedy, and we decided to learn and gain all the basic knowledge required, we will always be in the right part and gain the little profit we will gain with time.

The frequency of scams has indeed increased in 2023 more than ever, possibly due to the advancements in the crypto industry and the growing number of investors and traders in this field. Scammers are constantly on the lookout, targeting cryptocurrency holders, especially beginners, who may be easily deceived due to their lack of sufficient experience and unfamiliarity with common scam schemes. Regarding what OP mentioned, social media platforms are now crowded with phishing sites related to airdrops and posts containing enticing offers from fraudulent platforms that promise newcomers substantial amounts immediately upon registration and activating promo codes. Pump and dump groups are also well-known traps, and many beginners may believe what is posted there and invest based on it. Therefore, any investor, airdrop hunter, or trader should conduct thorough research before taking any action and avoid making hasty decisions in connecting their wallets, depositing funds into any unknown exchanges, or investing based on recommendations from anonymous people. Trust should not be placed blindly, as artificial intelligence can be unbelievably dangerous.

It is always an obvious thing that too-good-to-be-true offers are scams.  Scammers always enticed their victims with huge return.  Even if the intention of the owner of the company that offers such huge return is not to scam people, it will always turn into a scam if the system collapse.  Double to triple our investment offers are bound to collapse because there will always a point in time that the system cannot pay their investors.

Aside from that unknown people often approach their target sending unsolicited direct messages.  They will greet us at first and then initiate conversation.  When they feel that we are already comfortable with them, they will then open up with an investment, or send links that have malware on them.  So better be careful with unknown people who initiate contact on social medias.

Also ignore emails from unknown sources and better to check the email address of the sender if some message from the financing institution asks us to log in or check our accounts, this might be a clone site to phish for our passwords in order to gain access to our account.

I see many people falling prey to these techniques especially during the time when market is good and those who are left behind without investing into crypto before the ongoing rally as these people are desperate to make more money and end up losing it all.

I never entertain any DMs or anything I see in social media and now with the emergence of AI any scammers can pretend like influencers or billionaires or owners to benefit their unholy purpose of scamming people. We need to be more cautious than ever and should just ignore any new messages which slid into your DMs and everything you see in social media and start doing our own research.

I often receive messages on social media with attractive offers, especially on Telegram. Instead of clicking links or focusing on their messages, I simply block them and report spam. You have to control your greed if you want to protect yourself from scammers. Scammers develop themselves from time to time and find the latest way to deceive us. They might hack or directly scam us. Also, a lot of phishing emails are coming; I just mark them as spam and report them. So everyone should control greed.

Hmm, Prevention can be a solution but only self-prevention on the community end such cases should be actively reported to keep our fellow members safe, In the Bull rally under the emotion of greed many people adopted many strategies they were not familiar with in those strategies people actively hunt the quests like Op mentioned.

Greed is good till a certain level but in the crypto market you need to realize scams are omnipresent, just like Lucy  Grin Grin they can F* your entire holdings in just a few clicks. So use the ABC strategy to protect Always be conscious and always Be Careful.  Wink I'm just familiar with these 2 any other ABC's available quote me out.

Anything that has to do with put this and get this is one thing that I always advise people to avoid by every means possible. If it's as simple as those scammers claim it to be, would they even care to share the update with others? What happens to them is that they take a loan and exploit the new features that they have discovered in order to increase their own wealth, or they don't like increasing their own holdings and making the portfolio greener.

I barely even reply to messages from unknown users this period, and I hardly click on ad links in regard to crypto news or investment because I know nothing good can come out of it. Sometimes just trying to see what they have to offer is what usually makes most people fall victim to some scammer because they will flood them with fake proof that will appear too real for their victims to reject and say no.

As the USD value of Bitcoin rises, you would now come accross numerous posts accross multiple social media platforms and Chat apps. They as in the the scammer would offer anyone with lucrative offers.

Not only on Social media, but I guess I have seen similar offers in this forum, and it was this morning If I am not wrong. Someone was offering arbitrage trading from Africa. He said he could buy cheap Bitcoin from Africa and sell it on the other side of the world with more demand, and he was asking potential buyers to DM him. Whenever I see someone ask to DM them for a deal and they are newbie, I feel like this is a Scam.

We are heading into a most speculated halving event. A couple of ETF approvals ahead. So, we expect Bitcoin to boom next year. Meanwhile, more scammers will invent new ways to scam people. It's the right time to ask everyone to be careful.

Wow! have you seen cases like that? People talk a lot about deep fake but afaik it is easy to detect whether a video is real or generated by a computer, looking at the detail (like something strange in the eyes, hair, ears...).

Porfirii, I don't know about him. But, believe me, I saw a casino ad this morning on Facebook, and I was laughing. Because It was Shakib Al Hasan's deep fake video where the voice was robotic. He was saying that Bangladesh gives a license to a casino to operate and he is the brand ambassador. I knew it's fake and I skipped it.

It's more like I have seen this kind of threads on how to be more careful on the internet (social media) as the bull run draws closer.
Well it's a good one to increase the awareness of people to secure themselves from internet scammers wondering about looking for people to scam off their crypto assets.

There are lot more measures to follow that needs to be included in the list but I acknowledge your effort on the few that has been mentioned above.

In the current scenario when AI has the ability to swap face and make it sound like an original influencer or a celebrity talking. It is better to research before you invest to gain double or triple multiplier. The best you can do is to avoid them.

Do you mean that the state of the art has developed so much that the new videos are indistinguishable from the original ones? or was it just a warning about what is to come? as if the use of the new technologies by scammers was not enough, it seems that security is a never ending unfinished business especially in crypto.

Beware, newbies, and not so newbies.

It's very good if you are more observant and clever than them (fraudsters), you have to know that chat rooms, whatever the type of application, have always been used as a den of crime, Worse and their actions were too enthusiastic when Bitcoin was created, please never believe anything said in chat applications that say they are making a profit in the Crypto market or Bitcoin in general.

You need to be careful, the internet space in the chat section is a home for fraudsters, be careful when judging strangers and always get outside information in any case.

Airdrops are already on the horizon, many new projects are beginning to be birth this bullish period most of which are just trap to collect money from gullible newbies to enrich the skilled traders. I wouldn’t say airdrops are totally useless but comparing the success of them and the time and risk associated with them, it would be better to avoid them. If one must go in then make sure you’re not connecting your wallet which saves your funds to the DApps (your wallet shouldn’t in the first place be on an online phone).

As for trading, my advice has always been stop chasing signals, grow gradually with knowledge and stick to long term investment and probably grow gradually with knowledge.

The time has come when understanding crypto in detail and DYOR more than earlier has become a necessity. If you don't understand anything happening in the market then stay away and do not become greedy to ride the wave. Things are not so good as they were earlier post 2021.
