So far as I am concerned, I am very new to this forum. It makes me no difference whether there is merit system or not because the rules are same for all new members.

So I was thinking, whats the purpose of this thread?? If you want to say it then use your personal text or your signature, its better this way wherein everybody can see it every time you answer to a thread or post, rather than making same thread like the others.

The purpose of this thread was simple. I think I make it fairly obvious. I wanted to whine about all the lames around here that won't stop whining. My comment about my sig was an afterthought. My rank doesn't actually change my life or my ability to earn Bitcoin. All my jobs are outside of this forum and they all generate BTC. Do you understand now? If not, send me a PM and design an infographic to better explain it for you. K?

What are you doing commenting in a pointless thread anyways?

Well sometimes change is necessary. So if bitcointalk administrators feels the need for the merit system to be incorporated there should be something in it that makes them do that. I don't think anyone is dumb enough to make a change that is unnecesary. Instead of whining about it, maybe its time you prove that you're worth given a merit.

Stop creating a threads about merit and do something useful.

This is a great example of why we have the merit system. It exist exactly because the plague of spammers like this one are making it difficult to navigate threads. There are some decent posts from time to time but they quickly get buried under a ton of nonsense. I sometimes find an interesting thread and watch it to check people's responses. A day later there's 3 or 4 pages of new posts and almost all of it is some illiterate shit.

Most new members will never reach rank with merit because they're morons who are here just to level up with minimum effort. They don't care about the forum, cryptocurrencies or rules. Just check out this prime example. He just takes some random words and posts in random threads.

I could fill up a book of nonsensical replies to topics I've participated in. One thread in particular started by my wife was meant as a lighthearted comical thread titled "You know you are a bitcoin gambler when......" and she continued with a few of examples of humorous characteristics about bitcoin gambling. 50% of the respondents understood and were hilarious, but the other half..... I'd go back and quote one but it's not necessary. The stupidity has been burned into my brain. here's a sample.

Then, I went and hugged my family before I gave up all hope for mankind.

Just follow the rules to make your rank up and be like them.It does not matter of what is your rank today but trying to pursue what you want and do something useful to get more merits from others.

That is an extreme case of shitposting, so I have tagged it.  :/

Looks like this guy's seeking the ben indeed. In all seriousness, he does stand out though - I browsed all of his posts and had a really good laugh at least. He should start a Twitter account, I'd totally subscribe if I had one!  Grin

In conclusion, do I like the new merit system? Hell no, I was Damn close to hero status and who knows how long it will take me to get there now. (No matter, really, I've always worn my own signature, not from any campaign). That being said, I don't have to like it to know that it was necessary. So stop whining about it. It is what it is, deal with it and try to do something extraordinary.
We don't have nothing to do just obey what is the rules in forum that they think good for our beloved forum. Unfortunately of us and those newcomers here in forum just required merit to rank up we know that it's hard to find smerits or even they giving me 1 smerit now it is possible to happen. Lucky for those members here having an account rank Hero and Legendary members when its comes profit they the same at here. So why they after that merit?. And how about us? surely can't rank up and because of this implementing  merit system now.

wish theymos to look at the merit sources again because most legendary members will not tire themselves to find good posts [Awards for Most merit senders]

Merit sources get nothing by hoarding these merit points. They will expire per month.

Where did you receive information sMerit is expiring next month?   Roll Eyes

I know that most of us will never rank up again here at the forum. I, for one, am glad I became a Senior Member long before the merit system. If you take a step back and look at the bigger picture, you will understand. Most of you newcomers will not see though. Since I joined, there has been an enormous paradigm shift in how this forum is used.
When I look at things from the perspective of a newbie, yes, I can see how it may seem frustrating and unfair. Conversely, seeing through the eyes of an old schooler, I can see how this drastic approach seems necessary. 6 months ago I could post a question here about anything Crypto related and I would receive answers and help from all over the world. Now, I've almost given up on getting a constructive answer before my post is lost in a sea of spam.

You will probably never get to Hero with the new merit system - it's as simple as that.

Why people complain about the merit system?
Because they have lost a lot of income sources, most of them join Signature Campaign Then greed struck them.
Many of them will be noisy for a month or more then they will be looking for new ways to earn fast free money.
I agree with you that the points required are unfair but not a serious problem.

I am sure that I will rank up soon. Also, I suggest admin to have the requirement of getting some merit points per year to maintain the current rank.
