Hi there.

I'm very confused right now.
I had a stop-loss setup on both Bybit and Bitmex.
Neither triggered just now.

They both say 'rejected'.
However, the amount I had set a stop sell for was less than my BTC balance.
I also had it set at stop-market so it wasn't that the price moved to quick past my stop-limit.

I left a little bit of room to account for the fees of the market order.
Neither triggered.

Several other people I trade with had the same issue in this last hour both at Bitmex and Coinbase. The stops just failed to trigger for anyone in that dump just now.....   even though some people only half hedged (left plenty room for fees)
Any insight to this? as I just got majorly messed up by my stops all failing to work. And if you can't trust your stops to trigger - You might as well get the hell off the exchanges as your not trading ....
I hear coinbase is down - and I've heard rumours the whales dumped on spot - and DDossed Bitmex. Could this be part of the reason? I am totally confused.
Without functioning stop-losses, I think I quit trading.

I don’t know how often this happen with the exchanges you mentioned, if they have had record of this severally even when network is not congested, I think it is just better that you leave such exchange to a more reliable ones before they mess up your trade completely, because stop loss is one tool that is very essential to trade and need to function well.

I don’t want to believe that the traffic of bitcoin has anything to do with why there platform is malfunctioning, but whatever it is, it means there platform is really not that solid and not reliable, you might have to move to Binance or Huobi, because I have been using these exchanges stop loss for a while now, mots especially that of Binance, and I have never come across such issue before.

It didnt tirgger out then it would be called slippage. hehe.Do you think that all is just pure coincidence? Sometimes these technical failures can really cost you but
it is quite suspicious if it did able to go along with the trend where sudden dumps happen but your stop loss didnt trigger out which is a little bit shady.Dont quite bud and you are still lucky that you didnt burnt it all.

Sometimes such things can happen, they are not alone with such a problem, especially on Bitmex that often happens. You simply have to calculate this effort. That's the way it is and you have to live with that
