you don't have to SELL bitcoin to be wealthy.
Having bitcoin is enough. Cashing out is for the weak.
Just wait a bit and we will be able to USE bitcoin

Great words!, Bitcoin is at the place were it's still in early adoption but the people coming in now are building the infrastructure needed to take bitcoin to the next level. And once these companies get to a good point to where they are innovating new services and products (i.e APIs, etc) that others can build on top of will be the time where btc could be poised to take off.

...again Wink It's all about the cycles.

Love this kind of posts. If you finished it with a beautiful "BUY BUY BUY" I would have saved it for posterity Wink

most media and their masters have been desperately trying to pass off Bitcoin as a scam/ponzi scheme/something that makes you lose lots of money, .

You dont think a lot of people will lose money?

I already know sums of people who got in well above 150/btc

If the price does no rebound, there will be far more losers than winners.

The only way I see those people winning, is not that its price goes up, but rather bitcoins them self somehow magically worth something beyond dollars themselves. A no volatility exchange rate.

Bitcoin becomes exchangable only for goods and services. If you want to gamble for numbers take em bitcoins to the horse tracks, even then the money they use will eventually be dead. If bitcoin is NOT a ponzi scheme. We already know bitcoin can not scale, and transactions can take 30minutes-a few hours.

Also, announcing how wealthy you are makes you a big target. And if you have most of your wealth still in bitcoins if it gets stolen there is no getting it back.

People usually don't want that kind of attention.

Well here are my two theories on this, Bitcoin is very anonymous, so that means that the media's stalker attitudes won't work on these people if they do get wealthy from Bitcoin I've been thinking about this myself and I'm staggered at how easy it would be to transfer lots of money with Bitcoin quietly. You also have the fact that for months now most media and their masters have been desperately trying to pass off Bitcoin as a scam/ponzi scheme/something that makes you lose lots of money, so if they went around suddenly talking about how people are getting filthy rich from it then people are going to think twice even more about believing what they say.

Sorry if this is already on this forum but when I saw bitcoin hit 250 dollars, yet I had heard nearly NOTHING in the news about people who got rich ... i was confused.

Surely there must be hundreds of people out there who literally did cash out and buy their own plane or something.

Im surprised there is nothing in the news about it.

I even went back to April 1 on this forum and I see no threads with people saying "I just made 2 million dollars!"   Why?

Clearly this would be for those who cashed out, so they are not targets for hacking . ... but how cool would it be to hear some stories about people who had success?

I did find one article saying 10 people who got rich, and it listed their names (facebook twins, etc) but it really didn't mention how much they made, or what they did with it.

Having watched a few shows about lottery winners who ended up having little to no wealth later on, it becomes apparent that one of the fastest ways to lose a lot of new money is when others start finding out that you have it.

My guess is most people who made a lot of money on a cryptocurrency would also inherently understand the value of privacy.  A lot of them might not also be thinking in terms of fiat any more!

very true, i never discuss exact value's or business partners i invest in or any of that stuff..

especially with the no charge back blah blah, bitcoin does have alot of people that try sniffing out the rich guys and attempting to become their best friends.

luckily i and a few others have stayed away from "bitcoin rich list addresses" and thats how it should be

Study the past, if you would divine the future.

I didn't fully cash out, and I don't want to give hard numbers, but I cashed out and I am still living pretty nicely on cashing out some of my bitcoins during that spike and would currently be considered wealthy. I am about to buy a really nice apartment with that money and investing in myself some projects. I don't go around bragging but I was offered an interview about it, I declined since I hadn't told anyone in my family, not even my friends knew I become a wealthy individual during that time. I still really haven't even told anyone that I am wealthy. I believe money does change how people view you, and I don't want that to happen. It isn't a great story but it is what it is, now I work for myself, I just graduated from a top college in the USA, and I am going to be doing bitcoins until I run out of money or Google hires me LOL (Google was my dream job before bitcoins)

Great story man, I'm really happy for you, I respect those that worked hard for their wealth and made smart and risky business decisions. It's great that you arent bragging about it, I sure hope you are making good use of the cash and treating yourself to the good life and not just being stingy like most people do. I would love to hear about that interview if you ever do it!

I think there's many reasons people don't gloat too much, but there was this one guy over in the off topic forums bragging about how much he made, and bought himself a new car, and then you have the occasional bragger in the speculation sub forum as well. Not to mention that some of the services facilitating bitcoin trade has done quite well!

Possible that it was only one big seller who took price down from its all time high? We've appeared to base at half peak price.
Check link below for a some screenshots of at least one big seller.
