I think its over already. Watched some of its video, didn't fully appreciate the contest however. Its stunning to see biceps that big that can lift block of stones weighing 188kg. But I was amazed lately about a 2009 Strongman winning who got into MMA named Mariusz_Pudzianowski from Poland. He applied what that huge muscles are for.

Yeah, hasn't got a terrible record, but those that come from a weightlifting background don't seem to do overly well. His record being 16-7 in MMA, and not many recognisable names on his record.Mariusz is a bit different from the usual strongman since he has quite a bit of muscle compared to fat, which a lot of them usually have. The thing is, that amount of mass needs a lot of oxygen, so he'll gas out before any of the guys with a bit more fat on them.

Not actually a fan of this but I like to know if there are betting sites that have the betting odds for this?
Just out of curiosity, I just want to check if I can have something that will interest me.

I'll check the names of the participants, and probably watch some videos on youtube.

this event is already over so no need to bet on this. tom stoltman of UK finished first. you can also check more details in wiki . and more because of controversies.  Grin
more then likely, fiat-based bookies had this event. but crypto bookie, i haven't seen one as i didn't look actually.

I am also curious if it will soon be possible to bet on these kinds of matches? I've actually never experienced that before. Well at the Summer Olympics you also have powerlifters there, but this is a completely different part what they do here. It could well be that there are a few bookmakers that make it possible to bet on this.

I hope it would be possible to bet on this sport using cryptocurrency. It would sound more interesting and exciting if this sports would be on the main stream because to be honest, they really deserve to be recognized. We could really see the dedication and passion of the players.
I love this sports , i even watching the replays in YouTube since I have no time watching the live shows.

But seems like there are some issue facing this sports? but as what I am seeing there is nothing to be an issue lol.

but Having Crypto as betting material? yeah this is perfect mate and hope they will Implement soon .

Yeah, the problem unfortunately is that the strongman sport is perceived as a freak exhibition, a traveling circus, or a carnival event, and not a sport. WSM are partially to blame for that because of how they approach it, but organizations like Rogue and Arnold Strongman Classic are trying to push the sport into a more modern form that could bring in more viewers.
Strongman deserves far more respect and coverage than it gets for the work they put in. One way forward is for them to find a way to show it live. People literally want live updates.

The podium finishers are as expected, it was only a question of who will be in what spot. Tom Stoltman actually made quite the distance in points compared to Licis and Novikov.
I'm not gonna lie Tom getting first place makes me extremely happy. 2x WSM. I am also happy for Luke. These brothers are leaving a legacy behind. Big ups to Brian. I am totally impressed with his performance. At 40 years old, he still makes it to the final. Overcoming all the obstacles and achieving and dominating, incredible effort in strength.

Finally, I discovered another sport that interests me, and I am confident that if it were available in any other recognized crypto sportsbook here, I would bet on it.

As much as I admire the science of weightlifting, I believe that learning how these guys train to reach their maximum lifting capacity would be extremely advantageous to someone like myself who is a gym rat. However, one thing that intrigues me is why the majority of their body types are like a dirty bulk, rather than a shredded type of body physique similar to bodybuilders?

I found a site on the internet where it is possible to bet on this kind of sport and they even provide the step by step process, but I cannot recommend it as I also haven't tried it but if you're interested then maybe this is the one you're looking for.
https://www.gamblingsites.com/entertainment-betting/worlds-strongest-man/

This kind of sport isn't yet famous but maybe in the near future, there will be some trusted gambling platforms that will offer bet options for the said sports. As you've said, it's slowly gaining viewers on the internet so I believe there will be a time for that. For now, what we can do is watch and enjoy the sport.

Nah, I don't want to risk my money on sites that I am not sure of. I don't do it anymore unlike before where I spend some money to try gambling sites that are not known. I still remember where I tried depositing eth and tried the lottery but later on, the site didn't survive but I did get my money back. So, betting my money on the site I haven't known or not reputable yet is not a good choice to make.

Yes, of course, nowadays you can bet on practically anything. Just google and a few results come up. If you mean being able to bet with Bitcoin or crypto I'm not so sure.

I like strongman competitions too, because they are relatively new and there is variety in what they do. What also happens is that since it became fashionable there has been quite an increase in visits to physiotherapists and traumatologists by people who take up the sport.

The truth would be something new, I don't know if any of the platforms in the forum can be encouraged to make this type of bet, in general, the strongest men in the world are usually very fat, those who lift weights do not have that shape in their body, they are more focused towards the athletic, if we take into account that muscle mass helps to have much more strength it is considerable, for me those who lift weights have total control over what they lift, while those who lift other things like carts, like things similar to what is raised in crossfit but heavier is more complicated.

Seriously, if they were better at getting this televised or broadcasted in a way which was accessible, then this sport would blow up. I'm not all that into weight lifting, but I find the sport quite intriguing, since they do push them self to the limit, potentially more than any other sport.

I recently rewatched the Eddie Hall documentary, which is fantastic if anyone hasn't watched it. The amount they go through behind the scenes is quite remarkable, and his wife is very much part of his success.

In the wake of WSM 2022, some accusations
To be fair, accusations are always made in this sport, and you can see why. These guys are definitely pushing the limits on what a human body can, and can't do.

I don't see many gambling sites have the sports and I don't really get to see much news about the sports either and also it's recognition and publicity as stated in this thread. My guess is that, a chance of a gambling site adding this sports where we can gamble is very low in my opinion.

The Scottish superstar is now the 10th man to win multiple Worlds’ Strongest Man championship.  Tom Stoltman won this championship after a competitive battle with Oleksii Novikov and Martins Licis. I wanted the the Ukrainian; Oleksii Novikov to clinch the title in honor of his war-torn fatherland. But Tom Stoltman has been consistent in the last six WSM finals, Tom Stoltman has never gone below the third position. He deserves the victory because he worked hard for it. I want the WSM to attract more sponsorship and gain more publicity.

If select participant's of the World's Strongest Man know in advance what the events will be. They can train specifically for those events and gain an advantage over other participants.

The format and events for WSM should be identical every year. That way no one can gain an unfair advantage by knowing what the year's *surprise* events will be.

It could also be good to introduce a balance between raw strength and cardio challenges for health purposes. Former World's Strongest Man, Mariusz Pudzianowski struggled with cardio when he made the transition to MMA. Pure bulking and massing isn't good for the human immune system and other aspects of health.

It maybe low at this point, but the sport is growing and us talking about it here might prompt some crypto beting platforms to look into it. Even tho there are not that many gambling sites that offer strongman bets, at least those that do show us there is some interest.

Well, we are in the finals now and the expected men finished in the top 10 of the finals, so let's see how they will end up after today's events. This time around it seems WSM has kinda partnered with the strongman subreddit and are delivering live results on their webpage https://www.theworldsstrongestman.com/2022-live-results/.

I am very surprised that this sport is not getting it's deserved recognition and publicity. This is because the world strongest man sports have been around for decades. Infact it is older than some sports that have gained more reputation. I am sure WSM as a sports or enternment is going  through some challenges that is really hindering it's progress and advancement. Like thenineclub observed it might be because of nepotism and leadership problems. The WSM leadership board need to adopt democratic tenants that would make the system open to new ideas.

In the wake of WSM 2022, some accusations against the head of WSM and Giants Live Colin Bryce were made public by the head of the rival World Ultimate Strongman revealing a conversation with top strongman athlete Luke Stoltman where some offers of nepotism and corruption were put forward. I personally am not surprised because Bryce and WSM are stuck in the last century and are more hurting the sport than helping it transition to a more modern and recognized sport.
