I had a freelance role at some point in my earlier Bitcoin career not as a BM, but a reviewer for content bounties -- checking blog post submissions for quality, inaccuracies but especially plagiarism. I'd mark entries/submissions as ineligible for bounty distributions, generally for plagiarism fails (clearly defined in terms of the activity) -- and then people would come back and ask: "Why?".

Surprisingly, plagiarism isn't understood well or not even seen as wrong. I used to think people were having me, but realised later on some users probably just don't get the concept or why it's wrong.

I am not a bounty manager or community manager.
I have ever been contacted by a community manager a few months ago.
he offered me to become a social media manager, who can create content, design, copywriting, become a telegram group moderator, and more.

the salary? $10.
not per hour. not per day, not per week. but per month.

I politely rejected him. and he called me like 2-3 in the morning. Grin
he re-offered me with $25 per month. lol.
and then I hang up the phone spontaneously.  can't be polite anymore Grin

I have been community manager in two telegram group and I know how much weird behavior I had to face. Same as you, I made an announcement about wallet update with all the information needed to share but I had to face questions again from everyone even though all of their questions were clearly written in the announcement which was pinned.

If they can't understand a simple announcement then they should not be qualified to do the job, unless you have a lot of patience and you still want to entertain that kind of people to work for you. I've been a bounty campaigner in the past, I made sure that I follow the announcement in the telegram group to ensure I will be able to do my job properly.

I blacked out his name tho, but he definately represents 60%+ of them.

Means 60% your bounty hunters has that kind of comprehension level? Sad

I admire that patience man.
Being a manager would really require that certain level of patience for you to go further or sustain yourself into this field of work.Since you do chose on managing campaign/community then this kind of trait would really
be mainly needed and thats what other people would really appreciate for those people who do actually follow the rules. This is why not all people would really fit out on this kind of job and if you are a type of person
who get easily get pissed or do have short temper then this thing wont really fit out for you this is why bounty managers since from ICO hype until now and do still manage campaigns is amazing even though
the market isnt really that nice anymore they do still continue into this kind of work.

that's not funny. that's the reality about the quality of the people that are being hired to advertise the ICO scams. you can't expect people with brain to join such scams, because they see through it and most of them won't want to have anything to do with it, specially not for such small payments.
there is also a lot of language barrier, for example in this case this dude may not even know what the word "Monday" means specially when it is shouting in all caps at him.

Yo digger,
The "when sir" type of gems are very common in the bounty discussion groups. They literally never read older messages or take any effort to read or search the info.

This should become a meme in this following approach:

Noob bounty hunters - searches groups for answers to their queries
Legendary bounty hunters - PMs admin directly

Following this with some nice PePe images should get this meme as a viral one. Grin

It's also an indictment of the whole telegram nonsense. It's the worst possible medium for sharing information, rivaling the effectiveness of smoke signals. Why people even bother with this for something like one-way communication from BM to shitposters is beyond me.
A bit offtopic but just to remind you that Telegram is way more secure than Whatsapp and the cross device sync is seamless which are plus points. Fact is that although many users of this forum came across TG as social media channels for ICO project, but it was not meant to be so. TG started as a privacy based instant messenger app and its popularity boomed during the crypto hype but that does not mean that TG is a ground for scammers everywhere - which is a wrong sentiment being carried by many users of this forum. Scams are everywhere but users need to be careful.

I for a change have used TG for more than following crypto projects. Though I cannot reveal much but this pertains to a site moderation and work/studies related discussions.

Well this is really common in telegram group. If you visit different telegram group of ICO, you will see that a single question is asked thousand times even if it was answered right before his post. They never bother to check message exactly. You have nothing but to bear with this.

What a good idea, show everyone what the world of bounty hunters looks like, I love it;)

The typical "Ask a question where the exact answer is directly above your question" haha!

My favorite is: distribution. There's a date for distribution and the questions are: I haven't received my tokens yet.

OP: In your experience what's the best way to respectfully deal with these guys and what do you think we can do to get them to slowly learn?

do you have a constructive answer for such questions?
Instead of preparing constructive reply, managers would probably benefit more by blacklisting them from their bounties since 90% of the time they're just spamming on social media.

What is BM waters?

I think OP refers to anyone who have experienced or those who want to be managing bounties. Bounty Manager/Management = BM; waters = job, experience, work...
Yes, that's also what I think he's referring to. About being a bounty manager itself and its tasks.

but he definately represents 60%+ of them.
That's a lot. How you handle and reply to them? and do you have a constructive answer for such questions?

If this is related to a telegram group of any bounty manager, those things are normal, any participants is curious and will ask for when, what, hows questions regarding the announcement.

For anyone trying to go into BM waters, here's one of the gems you'll encounter on a daily basis from your average bounty hunter

I blacked out his name tho, but he definately represents 60%+ of them.

I'll add similar funny things when i come accross them, and i invite all other Bounty Managers to do the same. But keep it tasteful, black out their names.
